Beefpuppet- There's no true secret to painting smoothly. I use Model Masters, and always spray a flat white basecoat prior to painting.

In response to the people asking the "what head" questions; Typically I try to avoid answering that directly because I'd rather see people exercising creativity and thinking of their own head (instead of 1,000,000 Crush figures out there with the same head). In this case, I have no intentions of making the figure again. It is a modified Mattel Legends Bulldog.

Those look amazing! How many Stings did you get as you seem to have more Sting customs total than I have seen of his actual Classic figure. None the less, these are epic.

C. Tremor- I think I have 12 total Sting figures. I haven't even made a dent in my Warrior stock... I have a TON of those. I've always been partial to painting (customizing) characters with face paint.

Dave10878- There is really no technique for painting, aside from using the proper paints (essentially, what works best for you), patience, practice, and proper brushes.

I use Model Masters paint, 1/20 brushes on details, and a 1/10 brush on larger areas. I apply a "Flat" white base coat of Krylon spray paint prior to brushing layers on. I only typically do 1-2 layers of paint, and make sure your layers are completely dry before applying another layer.

Decals are another story. I will do an actual tutorial on that.

Good to see you making more updates Axe, as I've probably told u before, you and "317 Customs" are my joint favorite customizers. i love how you both try to make best use of existing Jakks parts and the sculpting, painting and decal work you both do is so clean and just makes the figures look factory made, and they fit in with existing Jakks figures perfectly.

BTW did you ever get around to making a thread of all your decals? you mentioned you were going to a while back, but i don't generally look on the reference pic/printout board much.

would still love to get a copy of your Syxx tights decals to use on my own custom syxx, if possible.

Man..all those Stings are incredible! My favorite is the one with the pink tights and the white facepaint. Next to that is the yellow and black Sting. Sweet colors!

Butch Reed looks amazing! Really glad to see someone actually use that head and make the figure look legit! The head band look well done as well! Just add a vest!
