IMO no.not by itself
it was their greatest triumph for sure but it also became a crutch for Lazy writers to fall back on.
there was many other factors that led to the fall of WCW.......they bled money vicously from 99 onwards......

But once the high point that was the nWo ran its course, WCW never recovered. The nWo was WCW's best & worst ever idea. That's pretty much it. The NWO was a great idea, and worked, but the egos and politics involved meant that they killed everyone else in the company. And so when the NWO ran out of steam, there was nothing left. People will make all sorts of excuses for what happened to WCW, but it's easy to see that from a creative standpoint, the NWO both made and destroyed WCW. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Time Warner killed WCW. Not nWo, Vince Russo, or anything or anybody else.
