so i know a lot of people paint their own belts, my question is how do you paint them?
with paint and a fine brush, or a fine point sharpie? what do you use to get that detail?

I think people use toothpicks for fine detail.

Wrong board.
This should go in CSC.
However, the way to do it is that you paint the belt all one colour (do not let it dry) and then with a small amount of water brush off the paint lightly except for the letters, so they are filled in.
Toothpicks are good for painting small areas, as are cotton buds. Don't use small paintbrushes because the bristles always spread out too far to paint fine detail.

Would it work to use a wash on it? i.e. painting it with thinned paint so only the indentions are covered and not the raised areas?

Yes thankyou? I would use tootpicks because the small point make's it easy to get in the small places.
