Batista is expected to miss several months of ring time as a result of a torn hamstring. The injury began giving him problems during last month's European tour and has worsened since. His injury is serious enough that he is expected to undergo surgery soon. Randy Orton's punt kick to his head last week on Raw was the storyline reason for Batista's disappearance from television.
Batista is expected to be out of action until June at the latest, with a worse case scenario being August. Of course, he will be missing WrestleMania 25.
No word yet on whether WWE will acknowledge the legitimate reason for Batista's absence or if they will just pin the reason down on Randy Orton.

AWESOME!!! Then we won't see Batista/Cena at Wrestlemania. AND we won't see Batista winning the Royal Rumble this year. Worse case scenario is Randy Orton wins Royal Rumble and faces Cena, but Edge, and even Christian and Matt Hardy have some chance of winning it. So this is awesome news, no Batista! I just hope HBK to "get money" enters money in the bank match at Wrestlemania in hopes of "winning the big one one last time before retiring - to have enough 'money' for his family to retire in the near future" because his current feud with JBL is a storyline that makes no sense whatsoever and it's the only way to save a horrible JBL/HBK mania match, which for me anyways HBK steals the show every year for Mania. I would love for HBK to win the money in the bank at mania, this Batista being out of action is great news!!

Must feel absolutely horrible to go off on injury so close to Wrestlemania.
I hope he recovers quickly - I think the time off will do him some good, he'll come back reasonably fresh.

I'm sorry this may come off as evil, but this is terrific news to me. I feel bad because I don't wish injury upon anybody, but Batista is like..the worst thing in the entire WWE at the moment. He's just so dry and stale at this point, he really holds Raw back by plowing through everybody with relative ease. He has 0 charisma and his matches are nothing special. Worse, he is incredibly overpushed, just as much as Cena but at least Cena has great matches.
With that said, I do not believe this report and I fully expect to see him back by the Rumble.

Not that i wish man the man any physical pain..............But thank the lord that god awful "wrestler" isn't going to be part of a very expensive trip to texas i'm taking. Granted I saw him at WMXX where he didn't do all that much to stink it up, and WM23 where he had the match of his career, I also had the unfortunate experience of seeing him at WM24. Possibly the worst match i've ever scene live. I can't think or any other notable time I've scene him live so this really makes me happy. Just another main event spot that will go to someone who unquestionably will do more with it then batista can. I only hope he wasn't booked in something with another below top tier guy (J.B.L'ish) that may now have to be filled with someone whos gonna loose the chance to have a WM Classic (HBK, Jericho, Jardys, Edge exe)
