April 9th, 2010 United Center in Chicago, Illinois Attendance: 19,717
Smackdown opens with a video package of last week’s highlights. It focuses on CM Punk gaining an underhanded victory over World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy, making the Backlash main event a Triple Threat match involving the two of them and Randy Orton.Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcome everyone to tonight’s sold-out show, which features a huge card. Our main event will pit “The Viper” Randy Orton against “The Straight Edge Savior” CM Punk! Speaking of Punk, he has promised that the Straight Edge Society will gain a new member tonight. Also, Shelton Benjamin will take on Rey Mysterio and we’ll determine a number one contender for Tyler Black’s United States Championship, which will be decided right now.Fatal Four Way Match [Number One Contender for the United States Championship] Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust vs. Jack Swagger vs. The Miz Tyler Black was on commentary during this contest, as he was clearly scouting. Goldust had the crowd behind him as he was the only face involved here. He had some nice interactions and showed good chemistry with his brother, Cody Rhodes. Swagger was the true star of this match though, as he shined throughout. Miz & Swagger can really play the heel role well, but in the end Swagger won after nailing Goldust with the Gutwrench Powerbomb. Winner: Jack Swagger [9:11] ***¼ After the match, Jack Swagger taunted in the direction of the United States Champion, who looked on with determination in his eyes.
The cameras cut to show our World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Hardy, walking towards the arena. It looks like he’ll be joining us, next!Commercial Break As expected, Jeff Hardy comes down to the ring and joins us. He gets in and grabs a microphone. Jeff starts by saying that he wanted to come out here and celebrate his World Title victory with all of his fans, but he didn’t get the chance to, so he wants to do so right now. He gets on each of the four turnbuckles and raises the World Title to huge pops from the crowd. Once he got down from the fourth one, the theme of Randy Orton played and he came out to the stage. Orton tells Jeff to enjoy the celebration while it lasts because what happened at WrestleMania was nothing more than a fluke. At Backlash, Jeff’s miracle streak that began at the Royal Rumble will be over. He will have back what is rightfully his, which is the World Heavyweight Championship. He also plans on facing Jeff one on one because tonight, he promises to punt CM Punk’s head off of his shoulders. Jeff tells Randy that it doesn’t matter what he does, because he will do everything in his power to keep the World Title and nothing Randy does will change that. Orton says “we’ll see” and then he leaves. Commercial Break
Singles Match Curt Hawkins w/ Caylen Croft & Trent Baretta vs. WWE Unified World Tag Team Champion Harry Smith w/ TJ Wilson & Natalya Neidhart Just like last week, one member of the Dudebusters took on one member of the Hart Trilogy. Hawkins doesn’t usually get the in-ring work but that’s starting to change. He was pretty good in this match, nearly achieving victory on a few occasions, but Smith was too powerful. He used that to get the win after nailing a Brainbuster. Winner: WWE Unified World Tag Team Champion Harry Smith [6:11] **½ We now cut to Ashley Valance, who is standing by with the “Gold Standard” Shelton Benjamin. She asks him about his upcoming match with Rey Mysterio, as well as his Pay-Per-View bout with Christian. Shelton says that he sees the same thing in Rey that he dislikes about Christian. They both came over to his show at the Draft and think that things should be handed to them. Tonight he will put down Rey and he’ll do the same to Christian and his ego at Backlash.Commercial Break Gail Kim is shown preparing for her match later tonight with one of Smackdown’s newest Draft picks, Alicia Fox. Kim is with April Lee, who is saying that feels bad for losing the match last week. Gail tells her not to worry and that part of being a successful Diva is rebounding from tough losses. Lee agrees and says that she now has an idea. She runs off leaving Kim looking confused.Singles Match Rey Mysterio vs. Shelton Benjamin Over the past year, both of these men have put on some great matches and although they rarely meet, tonight they showed good chemistry. Neither man managed to take an advantage as we saw great back and forth action. Rey hit a hurricanrana, missile dropkick and the West Coast Pop, but Shelton wouldn’t stay down for the count. Shelton hit the Shell Bomb, T-Bone and Dragon Whip, but it was a well timed Paydirt that nabbed him the win. Winner: Shelton Benjamin [10:28] ***½ After the match, the theme of Christian played as “Captain Charisma” came out to the stage with a microphone in his hand. He congratulated Shelton on the win and told him that momentum heading into their match should be a great help for him. Christian knows that Shelton needs some serious help so this is good for him. Shelton gets his own microphone and tells Christian that he should be taking notes from him because Shelton’s way of doing things is clearly better than Christian’s. Considering he has actually worn the World Title and he’s gotten the better of Christian throughout their careers. Christian reminds Shelton that he is a different man now and he’ll show him at Backlash.Commercial Break April Lee enters the General Manager’s office and asks Stephanie McMahon for a match next week with the woman who beat her last week, Beth Phoenix. Stephanie is skeptical and wants Lee to be 100% sure and when she assures her that she is, Stephanie books the match.Tag Team Match JTG & R-Truth vs. The Straight Edge Society w/ CM Punk This was our first taste of both teams and they were both rather impressive. JTG seems to have good chemistry with R-Truth, while the SES work extremely well together. Despite having some solid highlights and the crowd behind them, JTG and R-Truth fell short. When Truth went for the Scissors Kick, Punk tripped him up. That allowed Gallows to connect with the Gallows Pole for the 1-2-3. Winners: The Straight Edge Society [7:09] **½ CM Punk enters the ring after the match, sets up a steel chair in the middle and we cut to commercial.Commercial Break We return to see the three members of the Straight Edge Society standing in the middle of the ring. Joey Matthews is holding a bag as CM Punk gets on the microphone. He begins by first saying that the Straight Edge Society will not only be adding a new member tonight, but they’ll be adding the World Heavyweight Title to their ranks soon. But, they’ll get to that when the night comes. Tonight, is about a special moment in someone’s life. Someone who has admitted to having some drinking problems as recently as a few weeks ago. This person has been successful without the “Straight Edge” lifestyle, but living this style will add even more to their success. This person is none other than our very own Women’s Champion, Serena Mancini. Serena makes her way down to the ring and takes the microphone. She admits that even with her success in the WWE, she turns to liquor often and she knows she must stop. She imagines the type of dominant force she can be if she eliminates liquor from her life and adopts the “Straight Edge” lifestyle. Punk tells her that before she can join, she must be cleansed. She nods and sits in the chair. Punk has her recite a pledge to straight edge before taking the bag from Matthews and pulling out clippers. He proceeds to shave Serena’s long hair and she looks to be blissful as she’s clearly enjoying this. Punk finishes the shave and she gets up and hugs Punk. The four members of the Straight Edge Society raise their arms in the air as we cut away. Commercial Break
Divas Match Alicia Fox vs. Gail Kim w/ April Lee It was rather obvious that Alicia Fox hasn’t had much wrestling experience as she botched a few times and didn’t look comfortable. Kim being her opponent helped her at times though, but she stood no real chance. Kim put her down with the Eat Defeat. Winner: Gail Kim [4:33] *½ Josh Matthews is now standing by with the “All-American American” Jack Swagger. He asks Jack how it feels to qualify for a United States Title match just two weeks into his Smackdown career. Swagger says that he’s not surprised as he’s used to success wherever he goes. He was a two time All-American in college and he was the greatest ECW Champion in history. He was so good that he never even lost the belt; it had to be stripped off of him. He tells the WWE Universe to gear up for the greatest United States Champion in the history of this business. He announces that he’ll be using his title shot for a match at Backlash!Commercial Break
Singles Match CM Punk w/ The Straight Edge Society vs. Randy Orton The crowd was rather unsure about who to cheer for considering this match involved the top two heels on the brand. As the match went on though, they sided with Orton, most likely due to Punk’s style of preaching that we’ve seen lately. Orton nailed his modified back breaker and covered but could only get a two count. Later on, Punk hoisted him up for the GTS, but Orton elbowed him a few times, got free and connected with an RKO! He covered Punk, but Serena pulled the referee out of the ring, causing the disqualification. Winner via Disqualification: Randy Orton [13:17] ***½ Jeff Hardy now rushed down to the ring, entered and began a fist fight with Orton. The two stars traded right hands, until Jeff got the better and sent him over and to the outside with a clothesline. Unfortunately, he turned around right into Drew Gallows, who nailed him with the Gallows Pole. Punk then had Gallows and Matthews lift Jeff onto his shoulders, where he then proceeded to drop him with the GTS. The Straight Edge Society all raised their right hands in the air and placed their left hands on their chest as the show closed with them saluting.© WWE 2010

-Good way to open up the show with the Number One Contender match for the US Title. Nice call having Swagger win it. -Good promo with Hardy/Orton. Punk/Orton's match should be good. -Smith going over Hawkins is good. -Benjamin going over Mysterio is a great call. -SES going over Truth and JTG is the best call. Good way to get SES over. -Adding Serena to the SES is good. They look even better now. -Orton going over Punk via DQ is good. SES Standing tall in the end is great. Overall, great SD.

WWE SmackDown: Friday 9th April 2010...I think the attendance for this event is slightly over the top honestly. To kick off from the top, a decent opening fatal four way match, acceptable to open up but not that strong. Jack Swagger gaining contention to Tyler Black's WWE United States Championship is fine; he has the most momentum going into this one over Goldust [who has done little as of late], Cody Rhodes [who is too soon for this big a push after going solo last week] and The Miz [who probably would have done just as good as a contender]. Decent promo that is nice to be seen second after an opening contest, with Jeff Hardy interrupted by Randy Orton. One more time between these two at Backlash would satisfy me on the 'WrestleMania XXVI rematch' front. Harry Smith beating Curt Hawkins is a fine win, not too big here. Rey Mysterio and Shelton Benjamin's match maybe would have been a better choice to open the show over the fatal four-way contenders bout; glad Shelton won here. Christian's promo was decent, interesting scenario with Christian and Benjamin. Predicted that R-Truth and JTG would lead to them losing to the Straight Edge Society; not much to note, good win for Luke Gallows and Joey Matthews. More promo time; lots of that this week. Good promo with the Society and wow, actually going for Serena Mancini as a valet in the group. Gail Kim overthrowing Alicia Fox is acceptable. Lastly, great main event with Randy Orton beating CM Punk. A good main event, liked the disqualification finish too. Overall, a good show and expecting a triple threat with Jeff for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash. Overall, I think it was a good episode but maybe too much emphasis on the Straight Edge Society throughout the show.

-Swagger winning FFW is nice for him as he just lost the ECW Championship in Fatal Four Way. Swagger/Black should be great. -Hardy and Orton's promo was pretty nice to hype their match. Surprised Punk didn't come. -Smith over Hawkins was expected. -Benjamin over Mysterio was good. As was Christian's promo. -SES going over was expected to hype them up and not make them look weak with their leader, CM Punk in the WHC Match. -Orton over Punk via DQ was the right way to go as I could see Punk winning the WHC at Backlash. But three of my faves in one match, I don't care. -Good show; can't wait for Backlash.

- Swagger winning the opening fatal four way and becoming the #1 contender was expected with last weeks actions. - Hardy and Orton had a solid promo with each other, dragging out their long feud that I'm hoping ends at Backlash or right after. - A decent win for Smith over Hawkins; not that big of competition, which is fine. - Love that Benjamin got the victory over Mysterio as he needs it for Backlash. A nice appearance to hype the match a little bit more as well with Christian coming out afterward. Not sure on who will win this one at the event, to be honest. - The Straight Edge Society picking up the win is good - they need it to be credible. A nice promo after the commercial as well. Surprised to see you bring in Serena with her being the Women's Champion and all. But fine I suppose. - Alicia Fox needs to get out of the WWE in my opinion. She really isn't talented, and it proves in this bad quality match with Kim. - Too much Punk - wow, did I actually just say that? - in the show. Three appearances (even if two was one) seems a bit overdone. But, it was a good main event to have ending in a disqualification.
A pretty good show overall.

SmackDown, so glad to see Jack Swagger take the victory here, and I hope he defeats Tyler Black to become the new United States Champion at Backlash. Good segment with Hardy and Orton, and I hope Hardy retains at Backlash. Pleased to see Smith go over here, I prefer the other two Dudebusters to Hawkins, tbh. Shelton Benjamin over Rey Mysterio is good, and you need to maintain Benjamin's credibility after he was once World Heavyweight Champion. Christian vs Benjamin at Backlash should be good. So pleased that The Straight Edge Society were victorious as JTG and R-Truth are just a fail team. I am so glad you added Serena to the SES, but this maybe be a bit too much CM Punk on one show, especially if he's in the Main Event too. Great victory for Gail Kim. A good way to close SmackDown, but as I said, a bit too much of Punk at once, even with the Divas match to break it up. However, I loved the ending, and overall, it was a really good show.

April 12th, 2010 The O2 Arena in London, England Attendance: 21,168
Raw opens with a video package, showing Mr. McMahon make the announcement that Edge’s WWE Title match at Backlash will be a No Disqualification contest. Then it shows MVP defeat John Cena in the main event to earn the Title shot. The video ends when we see Edge and Chris Jericho attack Cena and MVP and stand tall.Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole welcome the WWE Universe to tonight’s Raw, broadcasting from London, England! We are set for a huge main event tonight when John Cena teams with MVP to take on Chris Jericho and the WWE Champion, Edge! Plus, we’ll see Mr. Kennedy will make his Raw debut, as well as a Six Pack Challenge to determine the number one contender for the Divas Championship. Along with all of that, we will see Intercontinental & Unified Tag Team Title matches! Our show opens with the theme music of John Cena, as he comes out to a massive pop from the crowd. He looks like he’s all business tonight as he goes right into the ring and gets a microphone. Cena says that he’s come to London with one thing on his mind and that is revenge. Ever since the Draft two weeks ago, Chris Jericho has had a problem with him and he wants to know why. Not only did he try and ruin last week’s main event, but he also attacked him after the match and he wants to know why. This brings out Chris Jericho to the stage. He says that he thought his issue with Cena was rather obvious. It goes back a lot farther than two weeks ago. It goes all the way back to the end of 2008. Cena looks confused by this, so Jericho decides to elaborate. He takes us back to Unforgiven 2008, when he was a last minute entrant into the Scramble Match and became World Heavyweight Champion. He was on top of the world, but then John Cena made his return two months later and was given a Title shot without earning it. He went on to win the belt and win the rematch a month later. Then, the next time they shared a ring, at WrestleMania XXV, Cena eliminated Jericho from the Fatal Four Way match for the World Title. Jericho wanted revenge, but was then drafted to Smackdown. Now that he’s back on Raw, he can finish what he started. He’s beaten everyone in the business and that’s a long list of names. Steve Austin, The Rock, Goldberg, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and The Undertaker. But the one name missing from that list is John Cena. He must beat Cena because it’s been slowly eating at him and killing him. So he’s gone to General Manager JBL and has been granted a match with Cena at Backlash. Cena says that’s fine with him, but Jericho’s not done. He says that if he loses at Backlash, he’ll retire for good. Cena is taken back by this, but says that’s even better for him. Jericho tells Cena that he has a lot left to do in his illustrious career, so he’s not going out in two weeks. Commercial Break
WWE Unified World Tag Team Championship The Hart Trilogy [c] w/ Natalya Neidhart vs. The British Alliance The Alliance were without Katie & Layla as they were getting ready for the women’s match later tonight. This was the rematch that the British Alliance got after losing their belts at WrestleMania and the crowd was very much behind them. With home field advantage, they fed off of the crowd and cut the ring in half on Wilson. He eventually made the tag to Smith, and shortly after that, they won with the Springboard Hart Attack. Winners and STILL WWE Unified World Tag Team Champions: The Hart Trilogy [9:00] *** John “Bradshaw” Layfield is shown in his office, watching the show on a monitor. A knock is heard and in steps the “Celtic Warrior”, Sheamus. He asks why JBL wanted to see him and JBL responds by telling him that tonight, he’ll go one on one with Mr. Money in the Bank, Kofi Kingston. Sheamus smirks and begins to leave, but JBL stops him and says that’s not all. At Backlash, Sheamus will face none other than Batista! Sheamus is livid at this announcement and leaves the office in a rage.Commercial Break Josh Matthews is standing by with the WWE Champion, Edge. He asks him about his opinions on facing MVP at Backlash with a No Disqualification stipulation. Edge says that he has no problem with it as he’s fought in some of the most brutal matches in WWE history, so a No DQ match isn’t a big deal for him. Mr. McMahon thinks that he worried him but there is no rattling the “Rated R Superstar” and he’ll prove it in two weeks.Six Pack Divas Challenge Katie Lea Burchill vs. Layla vs. Melina vs. Michelle McCool vs. Mickie James vs. Tiffany Everyone was quite surprised to see Michelle McCool make her Raw debut tonight, returning from injury. Divas Champion Maryse pulled up a chair at ringside and took in the match. McCool looked pretty dominant in her return, as she took down each of the girls at one point. She knocked Melina to the outside and began to assault her out there. They got very physical, but it took them away from the finish of the match, which came after James dropped Layla with the Mick Kick and got the 1-2-3. Winner: Mickie James [6:49] **½ The crowd roared as James was announced the winner and she stared a hole through the Divas Champion. Maryse responded by telling James to talk to the hand as she walked towards the ramp.Commercial Break
Singles Match Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus The last time these two met was on Smackdown and Sheamus injured Kingston, taking him out for a short while. Kingston wasn’t having any of that tonight though as he came out firing on all cylinders. Sheamus didn’t know what hit him as he reeled back and even had to leave the ring and catch his breath. Kofi jumped out for a suicide dive, but Sheamus moved and Kingston hit the guardrail hard. Sheamus then picked Kingston up and nailed the Irish Curse on the outside. He rolled in the ring and Kingston was out for the countout. Winner Via Countout: Sheamus [9:16] *** After the match, Sheamus went to the outside and picked up Kingston for another attack. He lifted him up for the Celtic Cross, but the theme of Batista hit. Sheamus let go of Kingston and met Batista halfway up the ramp. The two behemoths battled and Batista was getting the better, until Sheamus hit him with a low blow. He then lifted Batista and hit the Celtic Cross onto the steel ramp. If that wasn’t enough, he picked him up and did it again. Sheamus hit it a third time and Batista’s broken body was motionless as the Celtic Warrior raised his arms in victory.Commercial Break For the second straight week, we are joined by Ted Dibiase Jr., in street clothes and he grabs a microphone. He reminds everyone that last week, we witnessed something special in history, as it was the beginning of the future of the WWE. He told the entire world that he was going to put an end to the “Deadman” and go down in history. He will cement his place in the WWE Hall of Fame and add to the legacy of the Dibiase name. The Undertaker was drafted to Raw, but ever since Dibiase got his hands on him, he hasn’t been able to show himself and the WWE Universe better get used to that. At that moment, a gong is heard and the lights go out. When they come back on, Ted is staring up at the entrance, but The Undertaker is right behind him. He notices this on the titantron and slowly turns around. He charges ‘Taker but is met with a huge big boot, which is followed by a choke slam. ‘Taker does the throat cut signal and sets up for the Tombstone, but Ted wriggled free and escapes up the ramp. ‘Taker rolls his eyes into the back of his head and does another throat cut signal, while Ted is halfway up the ramp looking furious. Commercial Break Ashley Valance is standing by with Jimmy Yang and Yoshi Tatsu. She asks them what happened last week when Yang told Tatsu that he had an idea for them. Yang does the talking, since he speaks more English, says that being a cowboy got him nowhere fast in the WWE and his greatest success came back in WCW when he was part of the Jung Dragons. So now, they’re back and for the first time, they’ve in WWE. In order to get Tatsu into the correct mindset to be a Jung Dragon, Yang brought in someone to mentor him. An original Jung Dragon, Jamie Noble, who comes onto the screen and pats Tatsu on the back. Yang says that the Jung Dragons will make an impact on Raw.Intercontinental Championship Elijah Burke [c] vs. Matt Hardy Burke accepted Matt’s challenge from last week to give him a Title shot and this was the result. The match was pretty good, as they’ve faced off before last year for the ECW Title a few times. Burke continues to show just how good he is as a face as he’s had the crowd in the palm of his hands lately. Hardy came close to winning after hitting the Side Effect, but it wasn’t enough. Shortly after that, Burke won with the Elijah Express. Winner and STILL Intercontinental Champion: Elijah Burke [9:03] ***
Commercial Break JBL is shown in his office and he looks directly into the camera. He announces that due to the attack on Batista earlier tonight, he will not be able to make it to Backlash. Therefore, his match with Sheamus for that night has been canceled. But Batista did promise that once he returns, he wants to face Sheamus and JBL guarantees that we will witness that match.Singles Match Dolph Ziggler vs. Mr. Kennedy Mr. Kennedy’s re-debut on Raw tonight was hyped up last week, and Ziggler’s re-debut to Raw was hyped up as well. Dolph gained a win last week, and tonight was Kennedy’s turn. These two showed surprising chemistry and were given a decent amount of time. Kennedy held onto the top rope when Dolph attempted the Zig Zag, which then allowed him to hit the Mic Check and win. Winner: Mr. Kennedy [7:15] **¾ John Cena and MVP are shown meeting up in the back, as they head to the ring for our main event!Commercial Break
Tag Team Match Chris Jericho & WWE Champion Edge vs. John Cena & MVP If Jericho is to retire at Backlash, then he started the first match of his farewell run with a bang. He was in tip top form, hitting all of his signature spots and putting on a very good match. He & Edge cut the ring in half and really worked over Cena. He eventually made the tag to MVP, who came in and cleaned house. He really looks ready for his WWE Title shot in two weeks. He eventually snatched the win after hitting Jericho with the Drive-By and getting the three. Winners: John Cena & MVP [11:01] ***¼ Edge didn’t even try to help Jericho as he was getting pinned and he just hopped off of the apron and slowly walked up the ramp. MVP and Cena celebrated their win, with MVP motioning that he’ll once again be the WWE Champion.© WWE 2010

Raw, wow, good opening segment, and I hope Jericho wins at Backlash as I would hate to see him go. I'm glad the Harts retain the Unified Tag Team Championships. Sheamus versus Batista at Backlash should be epic. Mickie James as the #1 ontender is alright, I guess. A Count-out victory is different, and I like it. Sheamus destroying Batista is good, but I see Batista winning at Backlash. I love this DiBiase/Undertaker feud, really can't wait to see where you take it. Very pleased that Elijah Burke retained as Hardy isn't worth it. Sheamus versus Batista cancelled? Damn. Obvious victory for the debuting Mr. Kennedy. I am very pleased to see John Cena and MVP with the victory, but I hope the heels go over in their respective matches at Backlash.

WWE RAW: Monday 12th April 2010...Alright, I'm hoping that this show has the English show outline, rather than being just another episode. Good mention with John Cena in the ring, definitely setting the scene with Cena in the United Kingdom and RAW in the UK too. Chris Jericho's feud with Cena was good; another one I'm not so sure about, there's not too much else you can do with it but it can be good I guess. Awesome WWE Unified Tag Team Championships defense by the Hart Trilogy to start; would have predicted being that we are in the UK and titles seem to 'change hands often' in the UK when William Regal's involved, that we would see new champions, but good defense against the British Alliance. Makes me wonder about what the reaction would be by the fans for their journeymen to fail to win the belts. Good six pack challenge with the divas, and Mickie James with the win is alright, not too original though. Mickie's been in the title picture extremely too often. Didn't expect Michelle McCool, Layla or Katie Lea Burchill to win anyway as they're heels; but I'd have even preferred Tiffany to face Maryse than Mickie for another try at the WWE Divas Championship. Good win for Sheamus against Kofi Kingston, surprising revelation with Kofi counted out though: found the booking on that a little odd. Ted Dibiase's promo on The Undertaker again was nice, 'Taker involvement this soon perhaps shows that this feud won't be that longlasting. Ahah, Jimmy Yang and Yoshi Tatsu as a team doesn't sound like an unheard of idea...my WWE 2010 much? Hahaha, no problem, but being on RAW is what I'm unsure about. Elijah Burke retaining the WWE Intercontinental Championship through it all after Matt Hardy's momentum lately was a surprise. I like it, wonder if Elijah would go any further than the IC title after he loses it; hopefully he continues to have a lengthy reign though. Mr Kennedy obviously wasn't going to lose here, and I wasn't even aware Dolph Ziggler's redebut was being hyped; both video hypes were extremely unnecessary, though. Ziggler hopefully achieves good success on RAW. Lastly, solid main event win for John Cena and MVP against Chris Jericho and Edge in a solid main event on RAW. A good show, vintage United Kingdom WWE show.

-Great grudge promo between Jericho and Cena. It was obvious that they'd fight. Cena's 0-3 this year, he needs the win. But seeing that Jericho may retire, I see Cena losing again.. -Hart Trio over British Alliance is a huge start to RAW. Nice to see them retain. -McCool in my opinion should have won her return match. James over is fine though. -Sheamus over Kingston is nice to show that Batista needs to be ready for Sheamus. -Another decent promo for DiBiase. But it's happened slightly too much and I think the Undertaker/DiBiase match should be confirmed already. -Burke over Hardy is good for the 2 of 2 title matches tonight. The right call there. -Kennedy over Ziggler is good for his return match. I don't see anything left for Kennedy as of now. Hope you can prove me wrong here. Damn. Batista/Sheamus cancelled!? Sheamus new Legend Killer gimmick? You got me hooked. -Cena and MVP over Jericho and Edge was really unexpected. But it was a decent call to get them over. -Good show; Backlash looks great. Can't wait for it.

- A good opening promo between Jericho and Cena, but I am definitely expecting Y2J to pull off the victory. - The Hart Trilogy defeating The British Alliance is good, and the B.A. seem to be going down hill. Even in their hometown. - A nice six pack challenge to determine the #1 contender, glad that Mickie got the win as she is one of the most credible there. - Nice little twist in terms of count-out, as it's usually the heel getting himself counted out, but rather Sheamus making it so Kingston was. Liking Batista coming out afterward, only to get his ass handed to him. - A solid promo from DiBiase there, continuing his feud with The Undertaker. Obviously they'll face at the PPV. - Elijah Burke retaining the Intercontinental Championship, in a match reversing the alignments of that old ECW Title feud, was for the best. - Kennedy (...Kennedy) defeating Ziggler is obviously going to happen with him being bigger back on ECW. Ziggler needs something good though. - Finally, a huge and good main event with MVP and Cena coming out on top of their respected rivals.
A good show.

-Raw -Damn Kev, I haven't really read this sine WM26, so I might not know everything that's going on. Thanks for the reply to Raw though, much appreciated -Very interesting promo to kick off the show. Cena vs. Jericho should be epic, but I feel this might be the end of Jericho's career. I hope not, because that would really suck. -Good to see The Hart's take the win. Maybe one more sentence on the match would have been nice, but it's really no big deal. -Batista vs. Sheamus? Don't know why this would happen, read above, but it sounds like an interesting match. -James taking the win is fine, and James vs. Maryse should be a great match. Did they feud IRL? I can't remember. -Sheamus picking the win over Kofi is great build for him, and count out doesn't hurt Kingston that much. The aftermath was great, but it would be odd to see someone do that to Batista. -Nice Ted promo, and The Undertaker's appearance was done perfectly. Hopefully these two have a great, lengthy feud. -JAIME NOBLE SIGHTING. Tatsu/Wang should be interesting. -Burke retaining the title is great, not sure how him being face would work out. Show me. -No Batista for Backlash? Damn. Maybe JBL vs. Sheamus now? I don't know. -Good match between Kennedy and Ziggler. A rubber match would be nice. -The faces gaining the win in the main event is fine. -Good show, you know how to put on a near flawless show.

April 13th, 2010 The O2 Arena in London, England Attendance: 20,766
ECW begins with a video showing the altercation that ended last week’s ECW. It highlighted the announcement that in tonight’s main event, John Morrison will go one on one with Ezekiel Jackson and the winner will receive a shot at the ECW Championship at Backlash!Byron Saxton and Joey Styles are shown after the fireworks, and they welcome us to tonight’s sold-out edition of ECW, from London, England. They hype up our big main event between Morrison & Jackson, plus a match between brothers when Primo clashes with Carlito. But we’re going to kick things off with the rematch between Bryan Danielson and Kaval!Singles Match Bryan Danielson vs. Kaval Nobody expected this to get as much time as it did, but everyone was glad that it happened. They took up the majority of the first half of ECW as this contest featured two commercial breaks. Danielson nearly made Kaval tap out on three different occasions with three different submission moves. Kaval showed no quit though, and reached the ropes to break two of them, while he reversed the other one. Danielson went for the Dragon Suplex, but Kaval broke free and delivered a huge kick that knocked him down. He then went to the top and hit the Warrior’s Way for the win. Winner: Kaval [16:06] ****¼ Both men were exhausted after the match, but when they got up, they shook hands. The respect based rivalry between these two has offered up two great matches so far.Commercial Break We return to see another promo for Wade Barrett, who will be debuting on ECW in the coming weeks. He claims to be a guaranteed future ECW Champion and a dominant force in the WWE because of his past as a bare knuckle fighter.
Ashley Valance is standing by with ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer. She asks him if he has a preference in tonight’s main event. Tommy says that he respects John Morrison more because unlike Ezekiel Jackson, he respects him back. But it doesn’t matter who wins because he will do everything to keep the ECW Title at Backlash because he loves the three letters it represents.
Theodore Long is in his office when a knock is heard. Drew McIntyre enters and demands to know why he isn’t on tonight’s card. He says that he got robbed last week because Morrison won on a fluke and he should be in the number one contender’s match tonight. Long tells him that he can’t just demand whatever he wants here on ECW because he won’t get special treatment here. If he wants an ECW Title shot, he has to earn it like everyone else. McIntyre looks furious at this and storms out.Commercial Break
Singles Match Charlie Haas vs. Chris Masters Television Champion Zack Ryder and his girlfriend Courtney; were on commentary during this match. Haas forced Ryder to submit a few weeks back in the Haas of Pain and Ryder kept trying to play it off on commentary. That didn’t stop Haas from doing his best in ring work as he also forced Masters to tap out to the Haas of Pain. Winner: Charlie Haas [6:01] **½ After the match, it looked as though Ryder was going to attack Haas from behind, but Haas turned and saw him. Ryder stopped dead in his tracks, while Joe Hennig rushed down the ramp and turned Haas around before connecting with the Hennig-Plex! Ryder got in the ring and raised Hennig’s hand, but he kicked Ryder in the gut and hit the Hennig-Plex on him too. He then picked up the Television Title and raised it high in the air.Commercial Break We cut to a shot of John Morrison doing some impressive one handed pushups in the back, obviously gearing up for his big main event match. Ezekiel Jackson is then shown putting on his knee pads in the back, also preparing for the main event.Singles Match Carlito vs. Primo These two had some unfinished business as they’ve had a bitter feud since the team split. Carlito looks like he’s geared for a good push in the coming months and he got another big win under his belt tonight. Primo used his high flying ability to come at his brother fast early on, but Carlito weathered the storm and won after hitting the Back Stabber. Winner: Carlito [6:44] **½ After the match, Carlito grabbed a microphone and said that people have been talking about John Morrison and Drew McIntyre since they’re the new Draft picks to the brand. And people have been talking about Ezekiel Jackson, since he made a big return. And of course, people are discussing Tommy Dreamer because he’s the new ECW Champion. Well, people are forgetting about Carlito, and that he should’ve been in tonight’s main event. But he still has the ECW Title in his sights and nobody can stop him.Commercial Break
Singles Match Ezekiel Jackson vs. John Morrison This match went exactly as one would expect. Jackson was the dominating force that we all know as he just beat down on Morrison for the first few minutes. The crowd hated it as he looked like he was going to steamroll his way to an ECW Title shot. Morrison wasn’t ready to quit just yet though as he ducked a clothesline and hit his springboard kick. Morrison then utilized his athleticism to gain the upper hand and pick up two near falls after a roll up and the Starship Pain. Morrison was in shock when Jackson kicked out of the Starship Pain and he went for it again, but Jackson got his knees up. He then picked up Morrison and hit the Book of Ezekiel for the win. Winner: Ezekiel Jackson [9:01] **¾ The crowd booed loudly as Jackson celebrated his victory. Tommy Dreamer, who came out to the stage during the match, was staring a hole through his imposing Backlash opponent. Ezekiel had a slight smirk as he stared right back.© WWE 2010

ECW, glad to see Kaval with the victory here, and pleased to see this is still respect based. I would have rather seen Chris Masters go over, but enjoyed the stuff with Joe Hennig and Zack Ryder. Very happy that Carlito defeated Primo here, he's the better brother. I really hope what Carlito said amounts to something, tbh. Pleased that Ezekiel Jackson got the victory as I want to see him as the next ECW Champion. Good show.

ECW on SyFy: Tuesday 13th April 2010...Quite an awesome start to the show with Kaval and Bryan Danielson in action in London, definitely the classic it was intended to be but perhaps went a little too long. I love the scenario of ECW now, where it's choc full of good matches and talented wrestlers, with a little less promo time. Only thing I disagree with now is your choice of ECW Champion, but we'll see come Backlash. I hope it's just a transitional reign. Wade Barrett's debut should be good, but hopefully no rushing to the top like Jack Swagger's failed attempt. Charlie Haas beating Chris Masters is disappointing and hurts Masters, the fact he lost to the much smaller Haas. Carlito beating Primo was a decent match, got the job done but intriguing with Carlito's tiny worked shoot. Ezekiel Jackson beating John Morrison is fine, quite a heated main event. A good show, but lacked involvement from Tommy Dreamer [who could have perhaps used some overness from this going into Backlash in two weeks. In addition, Drew McIntyre was absent oddly.

-Awesome contest kicking off the show with Kaval and Danielson. Kaval winning means good things for him. -Not sure on the Haas/Masters call as Masters was more dominant, as well as him being the future. -Carlito, big brother over Primo, little brother was expected here. -Really predicted we'd have Jackson/Dreamer. I could never see Jackson kicking out of Starship Pain though. But since Jackson has won, hope he becomes ECW Champion. -Good show.

April 16th, 2010 The O2 Arena in London, England Attendance: 20,766
This week’s Smackdown opens with a video that shows highlights of the main event last week between CM Punk and Randy Orton, the two men who will face Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Title at Backlash. It ended by showing how CM Punk and his Straight Edge Society stood tall at the close of show.Everyone’s favorite commentary team, Matt Striker & Todd Grisham; welcome us to a very special edition of Smackdown from London, England! Tonight’s main event is announced as CM Punk going one on one with “Captain Charisma” for the first time ever! Also, Jeff Hardy will face Punk’s original disciple, Drew Gallows in a non-title match. Plus, we will witness the debut of Smackdown’s newest tag team, the South Beach Boys!Randy Orton cuts them off as his theme hits the arena and he walks down the aisle in street clothes. He gets in the ring and begins to talk about last week. He says that he was three seconds away from pinning CM Punk’s shoulders to the mat and proving to the world that Punk doesn’t belong in the match at Backlash. That match should be his one on one rematch for the World Title but instead, he has to share it with someone who is unworthy. Speaking of unworthy, he says that our current World Champion is just that. He got lucky at the Royal Rumble and at WrestleMania. Jeff Hardy’s luck will run out at Backlash and Orton promises to take advantage and once again become World Champion. He claims that the “Age of Orton” is once again upon us and there isn’t a person in the WWE that can do anything about it. The music of the World Heavyweight Champion hits as Jeff Hardy comes out to the stage. He tells Orton that he feels there’s at least one person who can prevent another “Age of Orton” and that’s him. He has ended it before and he’ll be more than happy to prevent it at Backlash. He’d actually like nothing more than to take on Orton tonight, but he’s already set for a match. Orton tells him that they don’t need a match to get their hands on each other. Hardy seems to agree and begins to walk down the ramp. Once he slides into the ring though, Orton attacks him with stomps. He continues this and then eventually, Hardy manages to get to his feet and retaliate. They continue to brawl until security rushes out and separates them. The cameras cut to the back, where the Straight Edge Society is shown watching all of this on a monitor and CM Punk is sporting a huge smile. Commercial Break
Singles Match Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio This turned out to be an excellent choice for an opener because seeing Rey got the crowd very excited, and these two turned in a very good match. Rhodes continues to improve since getting drafted to the blue brand, while Rey still puts in some great work. They were given a surprising amount of time and despite his a great effort, Rhodes fell to the 619. Winner: Rey Mysterio [9:51] ***¼ We are now taken backstage where Gail Kim and April Lee are discussing tonight’s match. Kim tells her that challenging Beth Phoenix might not have been the best idea as she knows just how tough Beth can be. April appreciates her concern, but says that she is going to prove her worth later tonight.Commercial Break Stephanie McMahon and Vickie Guerrero are shown in their office when a knock is heard. Christian enters and says he has a question for the General Managers. He wants to know if he can host The Peep Show next Friday with Shelton Benjamin as his guest. Stephanie thinks it’s a great idea and allows Christian to do it.Tag Team Match The Dudebusters w/ Curt Hawkins vs. The South Beach Party Boys The South Beach Boys were pretty impressive in their debut here tonight. Percy Watson especially showed some fantastic charisma and shined brighter than Darren Young. Despite this, the Dudebusters were in control for the most part, but Croft made the mistake of taunting. That allowed Watson to turn him around and connect with the float over DDT for the 1-2-3! Winners: The South Beach Party Boys [7:33] **¾ The crowd roared with approval as the charismatic South Beach Boys picked up the win and danced their way up the ramp. Baretta, Croft and Hawkins were very unhappy in the ring.Commercial Break
Non-Title Match Drew Gallows w/ Joey Matthews & Women’s Champion Serena Mancini vs. World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy Gallows showed some pretty good improvement from his days as Festus, as he gave Jeff a good fight here. Both Matthews and Mancini got involved at different times, but Jeff always fought back somehow. In the end, Matthews got on the apron, but was knocked off by Jeff, and he landed on Serena. Jeff turned back to Gallows and dropped him with the Twist of Fate. Winner: World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy [9:01] **¾ We cut to the back where Josh Matthews is standing by with the United States Champion, Tyler Black. He asks Black about his thoughts going into his match with Jack Swagger at Backlash. Black says that unlike Swagger, he’s taking things very serious and isn’t going to overlook his opponent. He knows all of Swagger’s credentials and is expecting one of the toughest matches of his career. He also knows that people doubt him because of Swagger’s previous success and he’d like to inform everyone that he has made a living out of turning doubters into believers.Commercial Break CM Punk is shown in his locker room with the Straight Edge Society and he is unhappy with them for what just occurred. He tells them that in order to be a part of his group they have to be winners, but he calms down rather quickly. He admits that he hasn’t been the best leader because he lost at WrestleMania and needs to lead by example, which is why he’ll make an example out of Christian tonight. The Hart Trilogy come down to the ring now sporting their dueling sets of Tag Team Titles. They get inside the ring and get microphones. TJ Wilson begins the promo by saying that they are proud to be the first ever Unified Tag Team Champions in WWE history. But, they also feel a bit bored. At WrestleMania they won Tag Team Turmoil, which means that they triumphed over every tag team in the WWE. Harry Smith says that they need a new tag team to take on and they’re looking for any and all comers because they want to be fighting Champions. He likes that the Jung Dragons and South Beach Party Boys are here now, but they need time to earn their shots. Just then, the music of the Dudebusters hit and they come out to the stage, still a little worn out from their match tonight. Curt Hawkins states that while it’s true the Hart Trilogy won at WrestleMania, it’s also true that they didn’t beat the Dudebusters. He says that it was unfair that they were given the early draw in the match because if they came in at the same time the Trilogy did, they’d be the Champs. They want the next Title shot. Natalya tells them that they just lost to a debuting team, so how could they deserve shots. Hawkins guarantees that they can beat Darren Young & Percy Watson. Wilson tells them to prove it. If they can beat the South Beach Boys in a rematch next week, they’ll get the next shot at the Tag Team Titles. The Dudebusters agree and we’ve got a match booked for next week. Commercial Break
Tag Team Match Goldust & United States Champion Tyler Black vs. Jack Swagger & The Miz The team of Swagger and Miz made for one charismatic duo as they held the crowd in the palm of their hands. They cut the ring in half and really worked over the veteran, Goldust. They made tags very often, until Goldust managed to make the hot tag to the US Champion. Black came in on fire and his high flying ability led him close to victory. He drilled Miz with the Buckle Bomb and called for the Superkick that usually follows. Swagger intervened though and hit him with the Gutwrench Powerbomb from out of nowhere. He then placed Miz over Black and held Goldust back, allowing the three count. Winners: Jack Swagger & The Miz [8:09] *** Ashley Valance is now shown standing by with the “Gold Standard” Shelton Benjamin. She asks him how he feels about Christian being in tonight’s main event, while he sits on the sidelines. Shelton says that it doesn’t bother him because he won his match last week, while Christian was off. He’s also pretty sure that Christian won’t win tonight, because he just isn’t a winner. He proved that at WrestleMania, and Shelton will prove it again at Backlash.Commercial Break Stephanie McMahon is now shown in her office on the phone. She doesn’t say who she’s talking to, but she seems very into the conversation. She asks the person if they’re sure and then asks when it’s going to happen. When she is told, she smiles and says that they’ve been waiting for this for nearly a year.Women’s Match April Lee w/ Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix One would expect Beth to completely dominate this contest, but that just didn’t happen. Lee not only got some good offense in, but more than held her own with the “Glamazon”. Every time it looked like Beth might be near victory, Lee would rally back and put the match in her favor. In the end, Beth lifted Lee for the Glam Slam, but Lee reversed it into a roll up and got the upset victory! Winner: April Lee [5:17] **¼ Lee quickly scrambled out of the ring and began to celebrate her win with Gail Kim, although Kim clearly wasn’t as happy about this as April was.Commercial Break
Singles Match Christian vs. CM Punk w/ The Straight Edge Society For being a first time ever match, these two showed some pretty good chemistry. Their styles meshed very well and it made for a good contest. Punk was in control during the early portions as he worked over Christian’s arm and hit some trademark moves like the knee strike/bulldog combo and the double underhook back breaker. Christian made the heroic comeback and hit a reverse DDT and frog splash for near falls. He began to stalk Punk, seemingly for the Unprettier, but Shelton Benjamin rushes down to the ring and Christian gets distracted. He changes his focus to Shelton, which allows Punk to sneak up behind him and hit the GTS for the win. Winner: CM Punk [12:16] ***¾ Punk quickly left the ring and joined the Straight Edge Society as they headed up the ramp, while Shelton entered the ring. He helped Christian to his feet, only to drop him back down with the Paydirt. As the Straight Edge Society reached the top of the ramp, Jeff Hardy rushed out and began to brawl with them. When the numbers game got to him, Randy Orton surprised everyone by rushing out and also attacking the SES. They managed to eventually force the SES to retreat, leaving Orton and Hardy standing side by side on the entrance ramp. Orton swiftly delivered an RKO from out of nowhere, leaving Hardy lying motionless on the ramp.© WWE 2010
