I miss Warsmans serious custom workings. These ones are simpler than what we have seen from him but that Uncle Elmer! OMG That was amazing. Will we ever see more work like that from you Wars?! You know what I miss on this board? WRESTLING CUSTOMS!! As for "serious customs" from me, maybe, I never say never. I have family and job responsibilities that take up too much time right now. It's the flash on his leg in that last photo. I did a double take on that too. The skintone is matched up as best I could being *a tinge* colorblind. (By a tinge, I mean VERY, lol) How can you "not be a fan of face transplants?" It's a technique. It's hardly different than trying to sculpt toes over someone's boots... Weird, I think it's a perfect representation facially! Especially compared to the LJN and Legends of Wrestling figures, and a biliion times better than some of the Jakks scans people try to use for Steamboat! Different strokes for different folks, I guess... Wars To be fair to me I shaved down the boots and then sculpted. But I see what you mean. Wrestling customs are going to soon be non-existent. Real scan and the classics line have made it virtually impossible to make anyone that hasn't been made already in any attire from any era. Why don't you post as often as you used to?

I wasn't knocking your work by saying that, I'm just saying it's like putting something new on top of some existing piece, like what you did with the feet on Jackson.
Wrestling customs will be around for as long as companies don't make wanted classic era performers, or take too long to make new guys. Especially once Mattel gets the license. I've been a DC fan all my life and I've watched closely how they have bungled up the DCUC and JLU lines. Even though they are *slowly* improving, they have a long way to go (distribution wise-not necessarily the product, though if you thought Jakks was bad with recycling bodies, LOL!)
I realize Jakks now wants to make MMA figures. It just doesn't mean I want to see MMA customs. Or indy wrestling clowns. Or ridiculous spam replies. This customs board is bogged down with all three. Just my own personal preference, which is why I've chosen to step back. If I have something I feel classic fans might want to see, I'll share it, like I always have anything I thought someone might want to use or see.

Understood. Trust me, I have seen the transition...It went from WWF/WCW/ECW customs to XPW and ROH customs...to indy customs..to divas.
I don't mind seeing any of those as long as it is quality work. You are on a very short list of customizers who make "wrestling customs" that I am interested in looking at. All the technology out today has kind of made people lazy when it comes to customs. You could have easily stuck on an Eddie Guerrero head on it and called it a Ricky Steamboat custom but you chose to actually put work into this and make it original by getting the old hasbro toy and transplanting the face..
and I applaud you for that.
