I guess there are no hardcore wrestling fans anymore then......... I hate when people blame OTHER shows for a ****ty wrestling show's ratings lol Im as hardcore as they come. But dont blame Cena vs Batista on this. I actually think its a good program. Even though neither of them are good wrestlers.

I should also add that the kane/rey angle is something you would have never seen in the 90s because there were acually good story lines back then.

Well the ratings seem to go up and down a lot these days..
The Olympics are fun to watch and the synchornized high diving was on at 7:00 when there were no good matches left so I watched that.
Glad the diva's were 1st because then I can change the channel!

I'm a wrestling fan but yet I watched the Olympics over RAW simply because the Olympics are at least 10 times more important... the Olympics is an event that happens once every four years... RAW is on 3 times in 2 days... I'm sure a LOT of people had the same thinking I did...

Are you seriously saying that the rating didn't drop in part due to the Olympics? A weekly television programmed to a world-wide event that only occurs every four years? I'm a "hardcore wrestling fan" and I'll miss Raw for a night out instead. Doesn't make me any less of a wrestling fan, nor does it make anyone else less of a fan who chose to watch the Olympics over Raw. Anyone who says it was because Kane didn't reveal his own mask is just completely enamored in their own personal frustration that it didn't turn out the way they wanted it to.The same people who credited higher ratings to Kane carrying around the burlap bag, lmao.

Don't like it, don't watch. People did like it before that don't like it now. It's as simple as that.

so explain to me why in the attitude era they got 7 and 8s in the ratings even though alot of other shows were on that Steal wrestling fans today...... maybe their product didnt suck before.... still no answer yet? heh i thought so It's because Wrestling has constantly gained bad publicity and poorer turnouts since the Attitude era came to a close... the Attitude era started coming to a close because the Wrestling market was shrinking... face it, there just aren't nearly as many wrestling fans out there now... perhaps it could be do to the product being bad but the ratings started going down in the Attitude era and have levelled off where they are universally... That's why RAW is consistantly stuck in the 3's, TNA is consistantly stuck around 1.0, etc.... it's because I believe the market has stagnated and more people are just tuning out... it's business, it's got nothing to do with Kane/Mysterio or Batista/Cena... people just don't really care about wrestling because there is no huge star. Ratings were huge in the Attitude era because of Rock and Austin... simply put, that is THE reason why. now that they have seemingly separated themselves from Wrestling and retired from it, there is no one for the fans to care about except Cena but as it stands now, he simply isn't big enough to become the mainstream hit like The Rock... The WWE's lack of ratings can be attributed to a lack of mainstream stars of Rock/Austin quality... it really has nothing to do with the product, with the tools given to them the WWE is handling their product as best as they possibly can right now. Punk and Trips as champ, Edge is a top heel, Batista/Cena two of the current cash cows in the WWE squaring off at one of the WWE's biggest PPV's... no glaring mistakes...

so explain to me why in the attitude era they got 7 and 8s in the ratings even though alot of other shows were on that Steal wrestling fans today...... maybe their product didnt suck before.... 7 and 8s? You mean three sevens and one eight? Olympics(winter and summer) effect on ratings: 1996(July 17-August 9): WWF stayed the same in the high twos. WCW stayed the same with fluctuating results, going from twos to threes. 1998(Feb 7-22) WWF stayed average. WCW stayed the same. 2000(Sept 5-Oct 1): WWF was gettings fives and sixes mostly, stayed the same. WCW twos, it was WCW in 2000, don't expect much. 2002(Feb 8-24) Raw stayed in their 4s. 2004(Aug 13-29) Raw was in the 3s. 2006(Feb 10-26) Raw had mostly 4s If you look at Raw's ratings from those years it's consistent all the way through. You can't blame a big event that more than likely pro wrestling fans really don't care for. Raw's been in the fluctuating 3s ALL YEAR. This is no change. It has nothing to do with the product being better at one time, it has to do with the shift in what people like. Pro wrestling had a broader base in the late 90s because they had stars who people could relate to and it somehow became "cool". Fact is, even if WWE got better, most people don't care. WWE will probably get 6s and a few 7s one day, but that day isn't now and probably won't be soon. Look at the ratings on the link below. WWE had a good two and a half year period with high ratings; (part of)98, 99 and 2000. Pretty quickly into 01, they revert back to ratings of mid 97. Then it starts to trail off. WWE's popularity comes in spurts when they make big stars. All in all, this has nothing to do with the Olympics. I watched both yesterday because my computer can also be a TV. It doesn't matter if it dropped that .whatever, they regain it later and lose it again. Their ratings are consistent and that's all USA really cares about. WWE just doesn't appear to masses anymore, but there could be a time when it happens again, might not. Ratings data came from: 100megsfree4.com/wiawrestling/pages/wwf/wwfraw.htm

It doesnt matter how many 7s or 8s they got the fact is they still got them. Whens the last time they did recently? oh yea they havent.
