i was thinking the other day when wwf turned to wwe and the new guys came in like rey kidman lesnar billy and chuck etc in around 2002-2003 the roster was stacked smackdown had the rock lesnar hogan angle rikishi taker rey edge. i would kill to have the wwe roster back from then i remember on one of my wwe dvds cole says "tonights main event will be a 6 man tag with kurt angle the rock and hulk hogan vs brock lesnar undertaker and a train." Holy $hit what a main event on smackdownBack then wwe rocked now its just alright but i still watch raw every week and sd on occasion todays stars cant touch the wwe back then in my opinion the wwe died after wrestlemania 20. rock hogan austin lesnar rikishi were all gone and werent able to wrestle any more. Now we are stuck with triple h ( just a bastard) john cena batista chavo orton etc cmon theres like 3 matches on raw nowadays and about an hour and a half of talking and no wrestling

'02 was one of the worst years I've ever seen. IMO, easily the best time was '98-99 and in general, from late '07 until now has been great as well. This current "era" doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves.

I know most people are in love with the Attitude era, and it felt fun at the time, but I can't go back and enjoy it the same. There was too much Russo garbage with all his non-finishes and everyone tuning on each other. The Greater Power storyline STILL boggles my mind. Not to mention all the unfinished storylines (raising the briefcase at KOTR, the cinderblock).
It sounds cheesy, but the best era is the current one, just because it's new, you know? I guess discounting that...I loved 1997, rewatching it on 24/7 is fantastic. It really helps that in retrospect, certain events were huge. On one episode, they started the building blocks to D-X and turned the Rock heel. While at the time, it may not have seemed like much, but put in perspective, it was huge.

Attitude was great but for some reason I cant watch it now and enjoy it. I had so many tapes of Raw from 98-2000 and I threw them all away. I was going to keep them but I noticed that I simply never watched them and when I did I fast forwarded it all. I'm starting to think that that era is one that you had to be a part of because I know quite a few people that can't watch it today and enjoy it. I also agree that 1997 was the best year in wrestling, not just the WWF.

'02 was one of the worst years I've ever seen. ...because you were probably just watching the **** fest call RAW. Even RAW was great in 02... (i.e. the first Elimination Chamber) Saying today's product is great and 02 was one of the worst years is quite hilarious. WWE never had so much star power (that could work too) on one roster. The only WWE PPVs worth buying on DVD are from 02 and prior. After that the PPV quality starts to go down hill...

I feel that the WWE, especially Raw, was amazing between 1995-2000. For me, it went down hill from there but has really picked up as of late. I think we may be entering a time similar to that of the Attitude Era without all those "Russo Antics" you guys were talking about.

1985-1991 was when the WWF/E was at its best. The next time frame I'd say was 1998 and 2002. Nothing has really stuck out since for me

People always tend to look back and remember things better than they actually were. In 2002/03 I remember people saying how crappy things where and how they wished it was 1997/98 again.
Bottom line is that every period has its good and bad points but people tend to only remember the good things when looking back and forget the bad. But in the current era they look at the bad before the good.
