I think it's pretty cool that he has followed in the footsteps of his idol...Trips pretty much established himself enough that he was able to pull the flair thing. So between his Longevity and title reins it pretty much makes Trips our Ric...Much like The Rock is our Hogan. This Gets me think does anyone else think that Raw From 2002-2004 was like a new age version of the late 80's NWA ? What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear em!

No...I don't see how they are a like at all.
To me, Triple H will always be the Game. The badass, the kicked everyones ass, and got to the top.
Flair? He will always be a man that got his ass kicked, but made it to the top.

There will never be another Flair or another Hogan. There cant even be anyone like them. Triple H is more like a Harley Race if anyone. Sadly Cena your current Hogan "Kids love him, big seller"....There isnt anyone though that can be classed "like Flair" in WWE currently

Does that make Jay Lethal (of TNA) our Randy Savage? They both use the Macho Man gimmick despite having completely different career paths and ring styles.

No.
Ric is a old-school mat wrestler, That does a lot of cheating. While Triple H is a Power hungry tyrant that married his way to the top.

Triple H cannot match Flair during their in-ring primes, not even close. Title reigns don't mean much if you're comparing superstars. I'd go with Michaels due to the ability to put on a great match with almost anyone.

Ric Flair won all his titles and made his legacy through hard work, HHH is doing it by porking the bosses' daughter.. I don't see the connection.

With some obvious differences, I'd say Eddie would make a good argument for being this era's Flair

No,
I think Triple H tries to hard to be the best of his generation yet he will never reach the level of a Stone Cold or Rock in terms of popularity, despite all of his championship reigns.
Hunter is, like G-Money said, more of a Harley Race, except with Flair-esque title reigns, Hulk Hogan political power and Bret Hart's infatuation with himself, all rolled into one.

This generation's Ric Flair is still technically Ric Flair.

Flair's only been retired for 3 months...so I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Ric Flair is the Ric Flair of our time.

No I wouldn't say he is the Flair of our time, Flair is Flair. And besides, Triple actually entertains me in the ring.

I see HHH being hailed as the new Flair when his career winds down.
