I know what a mark is but I'm having trouble explaining to a friend who is a mark what a mark is and why they are one...
Anyone have any advice how to explain to my friend his markdom?
**why an administrator would lock a post when they answered with a joke is beyond me**
Also a mark is not just thinking wrestling is real, because there are far too many marks out there who know its not real

A mark is
1.) Mark, a fan who believes that the characters and events of some or all of professional wrestling are real.
2.) The term can also be applied to a fan who idolizes a particular wrestler, promotion, or style of wrestling to a point some might consider excessive.
Wrestling fans are all marks.

A mark is 1.) Mark, a fan who believes that the characters and events of some or all of professional wrestling are real. Derived from the old carny days, when "mark" was used to describe the victim of a con.

Because you got your answer. A mark is someone who thinks wrestling is real. It can be used interchangeable with the word fan. The thread was locked because your question was answered. Then you decided to start a new thread with the same question.

Your first thread is locked as spam so you're trying again? Do you enjoy a large warning bar? Are you the MOD? No your not so please let the MOD do his job. It has nothing whatsoever to do with you whether or not his post is spam. The admins and mods will deem whether or not it`s nessecary to lock this thread. Thanks you!

Yeah, I use the term "mark" when I argue with Steeler fans....I call them "marks" when they go overboard with their Steeler fandom. I interchange the term mark for the word homer. Same thing.. Like ESPN/NFL commentator Mark Schlereth is a Bronco "mark" or homer. Of course, he would be as he played for them. Like that. He also played for the Skins but he talks more about the Broncos. I am an Edge, HHH, HBK mark primarily. I love them A LOT. Of course, all wrestling fans are marks, even those of us who know it is not real of course.
