Do you guys think there will be a new "spinning" World Heavyweight Championship Belt when John Cena beats CM Punk at either the Great American Bash or SummerSlam?
Clearly being off RAW and away from Cena hasn't stopped the WWE from making Triple H use that horrible WWE Championship Belt, so clearly they like the design....it makes me think that as soon as Cena gets the WHC, we are in store for another spinner.

No, but I think they need to fix the current belt. From what I saw from Raw, there were several jewels/diamonds missing, and the leather on the back was peeling.

No way, the current design has dignity and prestige. Cena shouldnt get it to begin with but i see him taking it. I wouldnt want the world heavyweight title to change to anything but an elegant design like the Undisputed Title.

John Cena won't beat Punk at Great American Bash...Where did that come from? You are sooooo in denial! He`s nothing more than a transitional champion to get the belt back on Raw because Triple H said if he went to Smackdown that the more prestigious belt was going with him |

In the eyes of a traditional fan the Spinner is nothing short of an abomination. From a promotional aspect it is nothing more than an extension of the gimmick, much like the Smoking Skull was an extension of the SCSA gimmick. Once the deal was struck w/ Figs Inc, it was a way to make $$$ so it has a longer shelf life.

Who says cena is getting it? Like I said, that belt looks made for randy orton upon his return. I know he only held it for a month, but it looked perfect on him. As for tricking it out, uh no. Its the only belt we have left that has some class to it, the basic design hasn't been changed much since flair made it famous and cena and his obsession with bling bling and crap spinning in circles never needs to even sniff it.

yeah, i read this somewhere, that Cena going to win and change the title to a spinner, and also the wwe title doesn't spin anymore, they've done something to it, so it doens't spin.

Actually cena probably will recently i read on ign during a post of svr 09 someone on there worked at a steel factory where wwe happens to get there belts made from and a worker brought in the heavyweight belt and told another worker to remove the center plate and replace it with a spinning center piece whether this is true or not but im not lying i read this with my own 2 eyes

I read a while back that the original draft plan was to stick Cena on Smackdown (before Triple H proposed the move to be with Stephanie more days during her 2nd pregnancy) and that they've already come up with the initial designs for a Cena-esque WHC. Obviously things changed but coincidentally he's on the same brand as the WHC.
Hopefully it doesn't happen though because I like that belt. ;[

A "traditional fan" is an older fan who has been through the old WWF, the New Generation, the Attitude Era, and now the WWE. A "traditional fan" wishes that wrestling was what it used to be...about what happened inside the ring, rather than flashy, pop culture entertainment aspects which now have movie stars, athletes from other sports, and soap opera story-lines flooding the show with very little actual "wrestling" on the show. To a "traditional fan" the title belt means something. I can't even tell you how important the Winged Eagle as to me and my friends when we were growing up...it meant everything to us. So having titles that spin and look like some gang bangers rims on his car.....it bothers us. |
