As we approach Summerslam, I'm taken back as I am every year. As a youth (around 4 or so), my much older brothers were always into wrestling, but I never much cared for it. I even remember intentionally tearing up their old issues of PWI because I wanted to. Then when they moved out and I was the only male child at home, I remember watching USA one day in 1988. They were talking about this new amazing team of Hulk Hogan & the Macho Man Randy Savage taking on Andre the Giant and the Million Dollar Man. I didn't know who Savage and M$M were, but hell, everyone knew who Hogan was. For whatever reason, I was sucked in and desperately wanted to watch Summerslam 88. Since I had no concept of what Pay Per View was, I tuned in to USA the night of the event and to my dismay....some bullcrap called "The Meanest Man in the West" came on. Frantic, I told my mom who called the cable company but since we lived in a super small town in Texas, PPV was not to be for many more years. From there, I would always watch Prime Time Wrestling on MOnday nights as well as their Saturday & Sunday morning shows.
This Summer marks my TWENTIETH year as a wrestling fan. I've never drifted from the WWF/WWE (even in the dark ages of 95-97) and have been to countless shows, bought tons of toys, dvds & magazines, have made life long friends because of it and have introduced more fans to it AND have defended it in public as something that I love, regardless of how "outsiders" perceive us as fans. Yeah Vince has done some dumb stuff and for a while, even I thouht that the nWo would put him out of business but with my 7 year old son being a bigger die hard than I ever was (plus he's already a Youtube backyard superstar) I don't see myself turning away from it anytime soon.
So........what's your story?

I got into it like 7 years ago. I remember this kid told me about the WWF Smackdown video game. I thought it was awesome, so I bought it. Then I started buying WWF figures. Then I started watching wrestling, and bam, I was hooked and still am. It's such a special sport. It's truly an art and I really enjoy it.

well, I kind of grew up watching it with my grandpa. I started when I was 5 months old (1992) and haven't stopped since then. It's just a habit.

Chances are if you were 5 Months old you wouldn't remember it. I believe i was watching in the early 90's, but i was watching stuff from 89 and onwards really. The first mania i seen was Mania 6 with warrior and Hogan i think

Well, my uncle used to always watch WCW, and I would go in his room and watch it with him, I was about 4. I still remember, I would always call goldberg - 'goldbird'. So yep, been hooked since I was 4. Such a sweet sport

I started watching in 2004. That was a great year to get into to wrestling, tbh. Right after Wrestlemania too.

Technically, since I've been alive because of my dad. But I started paying attention when I was about 5 or 6. So about 13 years.

Well, my brother used to watch it back in '99, but I wasn't really into it. I started to watch it, but it wasn't till, 2003 or so that I really started watching it. My first PPV I watched on TV was WMXX... I think.
