wrestlinggonewrong.com/video/pgw_batista_chamber_door.htmlthis is from NYR05, when Batista was the final entrant in the EC match, whilst Triple H was trapped in the crippler crossface/Walls of Jericho combination. now, they 'botched' the opening of the door meaning he couldn't get out for a second, but i thought it actually added to the drama of the match, that Triple H may have tapped out. are there any moments which are widely regarded as botches, which in your opinion, have actually added to the match?

I always thought slipping off the rope from a Springboard was a great botch. Adds the thought that the opposing superstar could get the win with a "mess up" by the other superstar.
CM Punk/Edge, Shelton Benjamin/Kofi Kingston

any botch where the other superstar gets the upperhand is a good botch to me but if they botch then the other guy waits around for him to recover then it's too unrealistic.

yeah if it makes you laugh, and while injuries are nothing to laugh about, it walays gets a laugh out of me how sometimes these athletes can suffer legitimiate injuries while doing the most innoncent of things, i.e nash walking across the ring

I always though Jack Evans was a good botch from the cage, for entertainment point of view.

Mankind falling through the cell, anyone? Er...that wasn't a botch. Unless you mean the chair incident.

I lol'ed when Mike Awesome powerbomed Shaggy 2 Dope on the top of his That 70's Guy bus and Shaggy fell off. It was funny how Mike scrambled over to get him, but Shaggy slipped off anyway. Mankind falling through the cell, anyone? Er...that wasn't a botch. Unless you mean the chair incident. It wasn't a planned spot, so yes, it was a botch. And what "chair incident" are you talking about?

Another one I just thought of.... not sure if this one was planned or not.... but during one of the FREE-FOR-ALL's (wow, I'm really showing my age here) when Yokozuna went for the Bonzai Splash, and the top turnbuckle broke and he fell on his back. Now that I think about it, it could have been planned. I can't remember, I was a kid back then.

granted most of these botches everyone's mentioned have been good/funny etc, but i meant this thread to be about botches that somehow, don't look like botches, or actually work better than the planned spots. any takers?

Batista's powerbomb to Umaga at Mania.
Probably a botch but ended up looking brilliant.

yeah i agree. even though in reality it was botched it looked good because of umaga's size and made it look more impressive IMO that he was able to do it

The time Zach Gowen split vinces head open with the chair and vince started doing this insane amount of bleeding in the ring and they wrapped the match up straight away.
That looked... ouch.. but it added to the match (cos it sucked up to that point lol)

I always though Jack Evans was a good botch from the cage, for entertainment point of view. Every move Jack Evans has done in his entire wrestling career has been a botch.

I came in to the thread to mention Batista vs Umaga at Wrestlemania, was beaten to it, however. I supose Kane failed his top rope clothesline and landing on the top rope was a good one at Summerslam 2003, it gave relisim to Van Dam moving out of the way the second time around.
