I think one of the major reasons people are ranking this so high is because the last few sucked royally.

As a spectacle it had everything particularly later on in the show when it was dark. The Flair/HBK matches made it the spectacle that it was. And the mayweather bout helped too. I thought they got the balance right. The Diva battle royal i didnt have a problm with...i did hav a problem with Snoop/Santino/Lawler saga afterwards. I just thought this felt like wrestlemania it felt like a big PPV and it felt like the spectacle it should be.

I enjoyed it but I definitely wouldn't call it the best ever.
What killed it for me was the way The Undertaker won. I know he's been using that submission move as of late but at Wrestlemania, where he has been so dominant I don't want to see him on his back choking out Edge. I want The Undertaker to deliver a wicked Tombstone Piledriver to finish the match and stand tall as champion. I don't want to sound like Lance Storm but the visual to end the match did nothing for me.
I knew Flair had to retire but something just sits uneasy with me that the man considered by many to be the greatest is retired in the middle of the show. I know its Wrestlemania and it's a great way to go out but come on, could we not have given him a main event slot on Raw or another one of the Pay Per Views to bow out. Also I felt that they wasted the job on Michaels, as a younger wrestler would have benefited so much more from retiring "the greatest of all time."
The Mayweather match was fun and it was good to see him go 40-0 by any means necessary.

You people are God damned insane. Wolf man... better than 17? You're ing with me, right? This show was average at VERY best. The Flair/Michaels match was special, but the rest was decent. That's it. You people are crazy. It's our own god damn opinion. ing Christ, let's all be damned if we don't think 17 was as godly as everyone else says it is. Yes it was good, but the only matches I enjoyed were TLC and Stone Cold/Rock. I enjoyed every match on this card throughly, and that is all that ing matters, so shut the up before you call me insane. Sorry for ranting, but this idiot pisses me off to no end.

I was there live...Flair vs. Micheals was the best match I have ever seen...period.
Without a doubt...my favorite Wrestlemania ever.

I think there's alot of people jumping the gun on this one. Sure, the outdoor atmosphere was cool but the show as a whole was a disappointment. I'm not saying it wasn't good. It just wasn't as good as it should have been. Give it a week to wear off. It was definitely a good 'Mania but it wasn't the best ever.

I really pay attention to detail at Wrestlemanias. The Arena, Set Up, Pyro techniques etc make a huge difference for me, and this, along with Last Years were pheneomenal.
The product itself topped last years I think, I enjoyed the Undercard a lot more. But, I think this Wrestlemania wll always be remembered for Ric Flair.

Sorry for ranting, but this idiot pisses me off to no end. Well then explain why it was so good. Was it the decent at best opening match? The hot piece of garbage Batista/Umaga match? The lackluster WWE title match? The good, but not great main event? The show wasn't bad by any means. But outside of the Flair/Michaels match, nothing was memorable and none of the matches were more than just good. I think a lot of people are wooed by the big atmosphere, huge crowd, huge entrance set and the fact that it's WrestleMania and you're told that as a rule it's supposed to be the greatest show of the year. If this exact card had happened, but it wasn't accompanied by the huge spectacle that it was WrestleMania, people wouldn't be praising it like it was one of the best wrestling shows of the past decade. It was an alright show, but the build leading up to the event was bad and the matches themselves were far from special. They were alright matches that may have tricked you into thinking they were better because of the grand stage they were put on.

I love this commish guy ^^^^
That's pretty much how I felt about it.
When it's all said and done, we'll look back at this and only remember the Flair match.

It was an alright show, but the build leading up to the event was bad and the matches themselves were far from special. They were alright matches that may have tricked you into thinking they were better because of the grand stage they were put on. I'll go down the list, your highness. 1. JBL/Finlay: It was a good brawl, and a good opener, although I think MITB should've opened. There was nothing wrong with this. *** 2. MITB: A very, very good spotfest. It was very fast paced, and had a good amount of sick bumps and spots. How one cannot like a spotfest ladder match is beyond me. I loved it. My third favorite match of the night. **** 1/4 3. Tista/Umaga: Another good brawl. It seemed a little uninspired, but besides that, I enjoyed it. **1/2 4. Kane/Chavo: Can't really say anything about it except that finally kane has a title. NR 5. Flair/HBK: MOTN, and most likely MOTY. It was simply amazing. Great wrestling, and so much emotion was behind it. The spot where Shawn flipped onto the table was freaking insane. And when he was tuning up the band and said "I'm sorry, I love you" was simply heartbreaking (no pun intended). ***** match. 6. Divas Match: For what it was, it wasn't bad at all. I did take a bathroom break, but it was enjoyable. ** 7. Triple Threat: 15 minutes of nonstop action. It had a shocking ending, and everything just flowed. Again, I don't see how you people look for a specific wrestling hold when you can have a phenomenal brawl like this one. **** 8. Floyd/Mayweather: Very enjoyable, surprisingly. Mayweather worked very well, and it was just plain entertaining. You'd have to be close-minded not to enjoy this. *** 9. Taker/Edge: Another phenomenal match. The pacing was excellent, there were alot of near falls, and it made for the perfect main event. It got good time. Only complaint was the finish, Taker should've gone over with the Tombstone. **** 1/2 A very good show. And I just gave you my reasons.

No way was it the best since WrestleMania X7. WrestleMania 24 was damn good and much better than I expected but no way did it top WrestleMania XIX. Austin/Rock, HBK/Jericho, Brock/Angle, Hogan/Mcmahon, Triple H/Booker T, Rey/Hardy & the triple threat tag were all great at WrestleMania XIX.

1. JBL/Finlay: It was a good brawl, and a good opener, although I think MITB should've opened. There was nothing wrong with this. I'll disagree here...there was one BIG thing wrong with that match, and it was the fact that JBL won, because now, this Gooker-winning storyline is going to keep going.

I'm glad to see that somebody on this board doesn't hate me. I don't hate you either, but to back up your WM 17 argument, you should have mentioned HHH vs Taker, The three way Hardcore match, Angle vs Benoit and Vince vs Shane. WM 17 is easily the greatest WM, and ill doubt we will ever get one even come close to its greatness again.
