No doubt Lesner vs. Goldberg at WMXX, there was so much build up, Lesner screws Goldberg at the Royal Rumble, Goldberg spears the living hell out of Lesner, Steve Austin announced special refere, then, what we've all been waiting for, Brock Lesner vs Bill Goldberg, at the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania XX, at Madison Square Garden, with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin as Special Refere. The bell rings... and it just goes down hill from there. The match was so bad, it sucked monkey balls out of a bendy straw. The most interesting part of the match, the end, "Stone Cold" stuns' them both, thus ending the worst 'Mania match ever.

Well for me, Brock vs Goldberg wasnt a letdown, because i knew it would suck. Id have to say either Mania 21 or 23. Michaels should have won the belt, and at Mania 21, i was caught up in all the hype of Cena and Batista, and then after it was over i was like "oh, crap, they really won."

I'd have to agree with Goldberg/Lesnar, but also, I'm going to nominate HHH/Jericho from WM X-8.
It wasn't just the match that was disappointing, it was the whole storyline leading into it. Here you have HHH, a guy who's been on the shelf for the best part of the year with a quad injury, returning at the start of the year, winning the Royal Rumble and with that, the chance to face the guy who put him out on the shelf at the grandest stage of all, in the first ever Undisputed Championship match at WrestleMania! But instead, the focus was shifted onto HHH and Stephanie's divorce angle which totally overshadowed everything and just shifted the focus completely away from HHH's mission to become the champion once again, and also completely shifted the focus away from the Champion, Chris Jericho. It was a total blunder on creative's part, and to add to all of this, HHH was nowhere near ready to be working a half hour 'Mania main event so soon after such a serious injury and ALSO, they had to go on after Rock/Hogan, which totally drained the crowd of all it's energy because they were going crazy throughout.

For me it's wrestlemania 23 Cena vs. Michaels i actually thought that Michaels would win. Also the overall match wasn't that great definetly compared to the match they had the next night on Raw.

John Cena vs. JBL at Wrestlemania 21. Here it is, eight months after winning the WWE Championship, and JBL's defending against the guy EVERYONE has pegged as the next top star. For starters, it should have gone on last. Secondly, the match only had eleven minutes and thirdly, whoever booked the match did so as a straight up, one-on-one encounter. I don't know about you but I definitely don't look at JBL and Cena (despite being a Cena mark) and say, "boy, let's have them MAT wrestle for eleven minutes." The two guys worked hard but the booking and the situation they were put in made the match a total letdown. Triple H and Batista's main event wasn't so great either. In the end, it worked out as Cena and Batista are two of the biggest stars but the beginning was awfully rocky.

That match should have been much better, and Cena shouldn't have just ran through JBL and beat him with one simple F-U.. especially since JBL had weaseled his way out of losing countless other title matches prior. It made JBL look bad, and it made for an uneventful match.

That's definitely up there. To be honest, the match genially sucked, big time; I was expecting two of the biggest powerhouses in wrestling to square off with powerbombs, spears, & all this other stuff to be going on everywhere. Instead, we get a 15 minute stare down. The only people that made the match were the fans & their chants ;D.

Like stated above JBL vs. Cena. It was really one of those matches that the rematch was better. Ya know?

I don't see how Lesnar/Goldberg was a let down. It was a terrible match just as expected, yet also one of the funnest matches to watch because of the crowd reaction.
I was really disappointed with Eddie/Angle from Wrestlemania XX. I felt it could have been much better.
As others have said, Cena/JBL was very much a let down.
Triple Threat match from Wrestlemania 22. That had Match of the Year candidate written all over it had it not been like 7 minutes long. It was a main event for the World Championship for christ sake.

Brock/Goldberg. I heard they just didn;t care because of the fan chants, that they could do much better.

Like a lot of other people, I didn't ever care very much about Lesnar vs. Goldberg. I was never a Goldberg fan and at the time was pretty pissed at Lesnar for leaving. I thought he was acting like such a baby.
With that said, I think the Ironman Match at WrestleMania 12 was a total letdown... not really please don't hunt me down. I think it was Cena and Batista's title wins. I think they were too green still and WWE was trying to make a moment that just wasn't there.

There are a lot of let downs, but I think Goldberg/Lesnar takes the cake. God bless the NYC fans for making it interesting.

Batista vs. Triple H.
Yes Lesnar/Goldberg was a letdown, but I partially blame it on the fans. How were they supposed to really wrestle each other when both were leaving, and the fans knew it?
Batista-HHH had great buildup and was a match that was long overdue and had a great backstory, and it wasn't even three stars.

Who was looking forward to the Lesnar/Goldberg match that it actually "let them down"?

It was a main event for the World Championship for christ sake. I forgot about that one. Definitely could have been much better. How do you let those guys go for only 9 minutes? It was still a good match, but way too short. They let HBK vs. Vince go 18 minutes, and that match was just a one sided ass kicking by Michaels that went on way too long.

i'd say the triple threat match at wm 22. the match was so awesome but 7 minutes long for a world title match?! that short one still ranks above hhh vs cena though

The triple threat match from 20. Simply because Benoit won. And i had passionate hate for benoit at the time.
