I know he doesn't like the WWE and Vince isn't to keen on him, but there has to be a way to get him signed. This series shouldn't exist without him. If Vince and Bret mended fences, why can't Vince and Savage???

Jeremy has said on a couple of different occasions that WWE has not and will not clear JAKKS to even negotiate with Savage. Apparently WWE does not want Savage associated with their company in any way. He's been erased almost as much as Benoit has been.

The misconception everybody has is that it is necessarily Savage's relationship with WWE that is preventing his release.

No. The fact is, Jakks doesn't want him signed yet. If they signed him and released him in CS 17, the fact is that a lot (not all) of their customers would buy him and quit collecting. That is why they will space out names like Steamboat and Savage (and Owen, if a miracle happens) over several series' from now until the end of the line, with Savage probably appearing the final assortment.

While I and many other collectors will collect every release out of respect for all past talent, unfortunately for every loyal collector like me, there are 200 other people who just want the big stars. However, if Jakks holds back on releasing Savage, it will tempt them to keep buying the lesser names until he is released.

Jeremy even admitted this around the time of the Tank Abbott debate. Little guys extend the life of the line. Savage will come later. Jakks ain't gonna shoot their metaphorical load too prematurely.

That really makes no sense what so ever. Nobody would stop collecting after a Savage figure was made unless he was the very last figure ever made. Theres still too many guys to be signed/made. Guys like Steamboat, Hansen, Dory Funk, Briscos, Pat Patterson, Owen and Dynamite Kid....We just have to come to a realization that we're probably not gonna get everyone we want in the series that we need/want.

sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about. If Jakks could sign Savage, they would do so, so they could release him in a hundred different outfits. Savage = cash cow.

It's not a matter of there only being bad blood between him and Vince. Macho Man hates the WWE in general, and I'm pretty sure I read a while back that he wanted way too much money than what Jakks offered.

Trust me, Savage not being signed isn't because of a lack of effort to get him signed on Jakks' part. They know that Macho Man and Owen Hart are the top 2 CS signings we want, but if neither wind up happening, it's not fair to only criticize Jakks for it.

As I quite clearly stated, I was talking about CASUAL buyers, not people like you and me. And casual buyers make up more of a demographic for Jakks lines than series collectors, that's just the way it is. Of course you and me want Hansen, Funk, Brisco and Patterson, but the majority of people want the biggest, most famous, most colourful WWF champions from the early to late 90s! Look at Freddie Blassie and Paul Orndorff...two huge legends who command a great deal of respect, but God damn shelfwarmers.

Once more, since nobody seems to be listening: I'm not saying that EVERYBODY would quit collecting. But most would. Hence it's better for Jakks if Savage is released a few series before the very end of the line.

Not only that, but Jeremy has told us, quite clearly and in no uncertain terms that WWE will not allow Randy Savage to be negotiated with. In short, WWE, as the licenser for their merchandise, has final say over who will and will not be associated with their product. They have repeatedly told Jakks "NO" when it comes to Randy Savage. Jakks answers to the 'E. If the 'E wanted to limit Jakks to only producing main eventers for their lines, they would be within their rights to say so and Jakks would be completely subservient to that directive. Jakks can pitch ideas all day long, but it is up to WWE as to what they will and won't authorize for production.

They are not waiting to sign Macho Man until the end. People wouldn't stop collecting either because of him. There are bigger names that they made and people still keep on buying.
Hogan, Hart, Taker, Warrior, Andre, Flair, Michaels, Hennig, Hall, etc. The sooner they could sign and make him, they would.

Your theory doesn't make sense. Because they finally make a Savage..they're going to lose most of their buyers? I don't get how they relate. So there are hundreds of people saying " Oh I'll stop collecting when I get a Savage?" If that's their mindset, then they're probably not buying any figures at all to begin with, because they ONLY want a Savage..

and even if Jakks lost a lot of buyers once they released a Macho( which wouldn't happen..), they'd gain a lot more money because there's so many different Macho's to make that would all sell great.

hate to burst any bubbles but since jakks knows 2009 their contract ends they wont be signing any big names thats why towards the end we have ray mystero and hardys in the clssic line. why pay big bucks when the series is ending anyway. it sucks but its always about the bottom line
