... also, if this is legit that speaks VOLUMES for Max's professionalism, to "walk out" of his job right before a PPV. Do your match THEN "sit out". He may be black balling himself in a way. Though his future use outweighs that by a mile, people will always be wary that this young kid will do it again. WWE signs him, but what ... warns him, "you better not pull any of this contract stuff with US one day", lol. I don't listen to what dirt sheet guys say because they "get" their info from the camp of the wrestler or someone who works for the promotion. WAY too easy for THEM to get worked. I look at the situation on paper as it is presented in the actual world. Both MJF and Sasha scream works to me.

The job to this big young star is important to the storyline. For a guy that feels undervalued and underpaid this is when you do it. I don’t ever agree with walking out but if you are gonna pick your spot to get more money, this is it.

I'd hope he's smart enough to understand that, but he's just a kid.

I dunno, feels this is only the best financial decision if his beef with AEW is so big that he wants out ASAP. If it's all monetary related then starting a bidding war when his contract is up seems like the more lucrative option, as opposed to temporarily burning a bridge and giving the WWE all the leverage in contract negotiations.

Though you gotta admit, it would be awesome to see MJF show up inside the Hell in a Cell match next Sunday to cause Cody to lose to Seth. I know that won't happen, but if somehow he got let go from his AEW contract and ended up there next week, that would be huge for the WWE. So Tony Khan would be crazy to let him go.

Listening to a pod ...
What would it say to Sasha/Naomi if they signed MJF, lol. "Oh ... no, him walking out was different! Sorry, ladies."
And what happens to LA Knight ... er ... Max Dupri? He'd probably be cut by then though. Can't have two people named Max.

That's why I'm sure it's all part of the story. MJF is as old school as it gets. We are just not used to it anymore. I don’t believe that this is a work at all. Screwing over fans who paid for a meeting is a bad look for both him and the company as a whole. I think he knew what he was doing, did it at a time when the publicity would be the highest without screwing over Wardlow (which I really don’t think he’d do even if he left immediately after). He’s pulling a Warrior. The company absolutely should and probably will turn this into an angle. It would be so easy to say that he tried to book a flight to get out of the match but AEW officials prevented him from getting on the plane. Edit: just to draw the parallels I think he’s just as wrong as Sasha and Naomi, but he’s much more valuable than both put together. If Sasha appeared on AEW she’d be quickly lost in the shuffle whereas MJF appearing on WWE TV would be a game-changer. Either way they better come to some sort of compromise. MJF isn’t going to get a huge bump in pay without adding at least one more year to the contract. If he sits for two years he won’t be nearly the white hot deal that he is now. For whatever reason I really don’t see Max screwing over Wardog, but I could easily see him walking out afterward. If AEW loses MJF they can get some short term mileage out of some other guys, but nothing like MJF. No offense to any of the guys on the roster, but MJF is far and away their best long-term asset, and he hasn’t even gotten the AEW title story told yet.

Match advertisements are quickly being pulled and deleted. YouTube Video just got set to private and they pulled recent posts off too.

If this is a work.. AEW and Tony Khan are stupid. However, I don't think it is. MJF has every right to be bothered by being one of the company's biggest stars while being paid a fraction of the former WWE guys they brought in after him. There's no need to do this on his behalf though, but it seems rather odd considering his reputation so far. He's not been known as that type of guy.
I can understand if he has grievances, though. The pay, the fact that he's only been getting better as a performer with only two diamond rings to show for it, the fact that he loses every big match. It's not a recipe for improving morale. Something I do know is that it would be a huge blow to AEW programming if he were to leave. He's one of their top talents and a huge part of their show. They have loads of decent talent but very few are on that elite level he is on.

If this is all legit, screw MJF for walking out before a career-making match for Wardlow (who has been apart of MJF’s rise for years).
If he’s under contract for 2 more years, honor your contract. When it’s up, then renegotiate. But in todays world sadly too many people feel entitled to do and act however they want.

No doubt he’s a top-tier player in AEW, but I can see Ricky Starks easily stepping into the role that MJF currently holds. As the WWE has proven time and time again, there’s always someone waiting to take your spot.

At this point I just care for Wardlows pay off.
The guy deserves it after this lengthy programme.

Please tell me MJF is about to roll in like George Costanza on a Monday acting like nothing happened. MJF: ‘What quit? You took that seriously?’ TK: ‘Laughing stock? Ted Mosby of wrestling? Calling your friend Cody up north to get you out of this urine-soaked hellhole?’ MJF: ‘Teasing! Wouldja stop it?’
