Voting has closed. Thank you to dcw1 for the logo Ross: "Welcome everyone to Monday Night Xplosion! We are live tonight from the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. We continue to build our way toward our biggest pay per view event yet in Gold Rush.” Virk: “I don’t know, JR. Many people are still talking about the World Heavyweight Title match between CM Punk and Mr. Perfect back at Opportune Time.” Ross: “Certainly a great match in its own right, Adnan. But tonight on Xplosion, we begin with the kid attempting to be the real breakout star of the Spirit Squad, Mitch, once again looking for a big win in the middle of that ring, let’s send it to Justin Roberts.” Roberts: “The following contest is a singles bout from the Grand Championship division and it is set for one fall with a 15 minute time limit. When the bell rings, the man in charge, WWX Senior Official Mr. Earl Hebner. Introducing first, weighing in at 250 pounds, from Magnolia, Texas, he is the Green Horse….Mitch! And introducing his opponent, he is a former WWX European Champion, he weighs in at 253 pounds, from Mexico City, Mexico, this is Mark Jindrak!”Tenay: “Mitch is having a very difficult time picking up any wins at all. I can’t imagine anyone thought he would be Grand Champion by now, but, nonetheless, it’s not for lack of effort on his part. At one time, he had a bright future ahead of him when he won a Fatal 5 Way match that involved former NWA TNA Champion Jeff Jarrett, but, due to the fact that he did not pin Jarrett himself, that never amounted to anything. A technicality, to be sure, but one that has had an effect on his career until this very day.” Earl Hebner calls for the bell and this one is underway. Mark Jindrak vs. Mitch The voting for this match ended in a tie. Longtime readers will remember that I cast the tiebreaking vote in non-title matches to make it different from a simulated event. The bell dings. Jindrak backs Mitch into the corner and lays into him with rights and lefts into each of his ribs. Jindrak slaps him in the face and Mitch comes out ready as we get the very official lockup, which is until Mitch rakes him in the eye. Mitch clubs him on the back, forearm to the face, and sends him off the ropes now. But, Jindrak reverses, leapfrogs him, drops to his back, and kicks him up and over. Both men up quickly as Mitch runs right in to two consecutive hip tosses from Jindrak before being backed into the corner again, and this time the chops start raining in. Jindrak sends him off the ropes now, but, as he does, out comes Charlie Haas down the entrance ramp. Jindrak hits a dropkick to the face and Mitch rolls to the outside. Jindrak delivers a flying clothesline off the apron. Jindrak rolls him back in the ring and follows, but he takes another thumb to the eye in the corner. Mitch gets in some good chops and jabs.Virk: “Which Charlie Haas are we seeing here, though? We still have no confirmation as to what interest he has in Mitch’s matches. Mitch is still clearly identifiable in his green ring gear, although, clearly separate from his old Spirit Squad attire. It would be difficult for Haas to make a mistake here, if he is considering making a move against either competitor.”Jindrak takes one more chop before reversing the positions and delivering his own chops. He takes Mitch down with a hard irish whip in to the opposing corner. He lifts Mitch back up and uses the same move into a different corner. Jindrak follows it up with a bodyslam, and then comes off the ropes for a running diving elbow drop. Jindrak is showing his technical wrestling ability off as he picks Mitch back up for a bit of a delayed vertical suplex. Mitch reverses another irish whip off the ropes attempt and delivers a corkscrew elbow smash. Mitch begins delivering clubbing blows to the back of Jindrak’s head, lets him back up to his feet, clubs him on the back, and delivers two jabs to the face before Jindrak starts trading blows and chops with him. Another jab and chop from each competitor, and then Mitch sends him off the ropes. Reversal by Jindrak, Mitch comes back off the ropes, and he runs right into a back bodydrop. Jindrak is taunting him now, and Mitch is getting in his shots following him around the ring, but they are having little effect. With momentum on his side, Jindrak comes off the ropes, ducks a clothesline, off the opposite ropes, and hits a big elbow to the top of the head. A couple of hard chops from Jindrak could almost take the skin off the chest of Mitch. Irish whip into the corner and Jindrak immediately follows it up with a crossbody. Jindrak comes back in the ring and spikes him with a bulldog, and then he pulls Mitch into the center of the ring for the cover: 1…2…3!Roberts: “Here is your winner, as a result of a pinfall (corner cross body)…Mark Jindrak!”Ross: “Jindrak victorious here on Monday Night Xplosion! He looks to be on his way back up the ladder with this one.”
Virk: “A couple of weeks ago, we saw Heidenreich unsuccessfully try to take away the NWA Title from the waist of Bobby Lashley, which means that Xplosion will not be receiving another shot at that belt for quite some time, but the World’s Greatest Tag Team have been announced as the first team to challenge for the NWA World Tag Team Championships and Xplosion also gets to name the next number one contender to Rockstar Spud’s NWA Juniors Championship.”
Tenay: “But, and we got a brief glimpse of it in that last matchup, is Haas’ mindset firmly on the World Tag Titles or is he focused elsewhere? He could be in the middle of a rivalry with Los Boricuas, and he’s out here preoccupied with Mitch’s matchups? I’m sure we will see more of Haas tonight, surprisingly out here just to watch that last match, until then Xplosion continues with some great contests in the ring.”
Jeremy Borash: “Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in welcoming, for a special interview, the team that you all saw on Xplosion for the first time ever last week, they are your NWA World Tag Team Champions, Los Boricuas!”
Perez: “We are happy that we finally got to show the world its best tag team of this or any other decade. We are not here to debate because the fact is last week we lost to our opponents in one on one matches, even though we are tag team champions. That does not prove anything. The World’s Greatest Tag Team represents everything that is wrong with the tag team division not just on Xplosion, but in the WWX in general.”
Borash: “So you two are not going to demand contracts if you win your match, then?”
Vega: “We are here because we have to defend these belts against an Xplosion tag team. Not because we want to be here.”
Borash: “Well, are you saying you’d rather compete exclusively on LCWF because that is what we would want to know. I mean I definitely don’t think I’d take the World’s Greatest Tag Team lightly either.”
Perez: “The only thing great about them is how great they were at finding a terrible barber. All of you know that. We will destroy them without lifting a finger.”
Borash: “You don’t want to be careful at all? You can’t say that about the World’s Greatest Tag Team. You wouldn’t say that to their faces.”
Vega: “We can say whatever we want to about them. And we will say anything about them anywhere you want us to say it.”
Ross: “Speak of the devils. Here comes the World’s Greatest Tag Team now and they mean business. They still look united despite Haas taking a special interest in other projects here tonight.”
Haas: “I thought Schiavone would have had a little more respect for his roster than to bring in two guys who aren’t even under contract if they weren’t going to wrestle, and you, JB, I thought you’d know better than to agree to interview them. They’re a disgrace, what is your problem?”
Borash: “I-I well I figured…”
Vega: “We have proven that we sit at the top of the ladder of tag team wrestling and we will do so again. We are going to leave what’s left of you two all over the arena.”
Benjamin: “We have taken down far bigger opponents than you ever will. We want to fight you and we are prepared to do so..right now.” Benjamin hits Perez with a roundhouse kick to the face. Benjamin follows up with a headbutt, and Haas goes for a dropick on Vega, but Vega moves out of the way and Haas ends up connecting on Borash. Suplex from Benjamin to Perez on the outside. Haas delivers a right hand to the down Perez, but then Vega starts striking both of them with his leather belt.
Virk: “The referees are trying to break this up, but these are champion caliber athletes, it’s going to take more than referees to pull them apart.”
Benjamin manages to attack Vega from behind and now has him hooked to deliver knee shot after knee shot to the ribcage. Haas has a cable from the announce desk and wraps it around Vega’s throat. Perez trips Benjamin up from behind and puts him in a side headlock. Perez tries to rake the eyes, but Benjamin fights to his feet and drops him with an uppercut. Benjamin clotheslines Perez over the steel guardrail. Benjamin follows him over and they trade rights and lefts among the crowd.
Tenay: “Los Boricuas started this with their tough talk. Not taking the challengers seriously and, of course, they took exception to that. Out comes Schiavone to try and maintain some order here as Benjamin fights off more officials to land more blows on Perez through the stands. Schiavone orders Haas to let Vega go so he can collect his tag team partner and leave and Haas agrees, so he waves Benjamin off. Obviously, Haas and Benjamin think they have more than made their point, but Borash, who has regained composure, would still like a few words with them.” Virk: “You spoke to soon, Mike. With their backs turned, Los Boricuas were able to sneak up on them and get some cheap shots in and we are back to their brawl now.” Tenay: “Oh come on, we have had enough of this. Can we get them out of here? We need some sort of official here. Each of them just got in a good right hand, and, finally, Schiavone has restored order and we’ll give it back to Borash, JB?” Before Borash can speak, Benjamin grabs the microphone. Benjamin: “There is no way that we are going to let those two come in here and claim to be at the top of the tag team division that we laid the ground work for. They better watch our match real closely tonight." Benjamin drops the microphone and he and Haas head to the back.Ross: “These two teams are set for a collision and the World’s Greatest Tag Team is set for action later tonight, but here comes Brian Kendrick for his match right now.” Roberts: “The following contest is a singles bout from the WWX Championship division, with a 20-minute time limit, and is set for one fall. When the bell rings, the man in charge, Mr. Rudy Charles. Introducing first, weighing in at 175lbs, from Venice, California, he is Brian Kendrick! And, introducing his opponent, weighing in at 232lbs, from Brooklyn, New York, this is J-T-G!” Rudy Charles signals for the bell. The bell dings. Brian Kendrick vs. JTG The voting for this match also ended in a tie.JTG delivers a boot to the midsection. Irish whip off the ropes, Kendrick ducks the clothesline and hits a few jabs to the face. A series of right hands followed by a standing dropkick. He goes for another one and it is slapped away by JTG. JTG lifts him up and slams his head off the top turnbuckle. He chokes him and chops away at his chest in the corner. Hip toss out of the corner.
Virk: “Anything can and will happen in the WWX. Borash just told us that that tag team encounter was the toughest match he was ever in or near. Here in this matchup JTG is brushing off Kendrick’s attacks as though he is nothing more than a fly.”Ross: “Ladies and gentlemen, folks at home, still to come tonight we have the first matchup in the 8-Man tournament that will introduce the Openweight Championship to the WWX to compete with Eric Bischoff’s belt of the same name. That matchup to be Heidenreich squaring off with The Boogeyman for a spot in the final four. Perhaps more importantly, however, as you heard earlier, the World’s Greatest Tag Team meets the team of Brother Ray and Matt Morgan in tonight’s main event matchup. If Benjamin and Haas are successful there, not only do they have their PPV match for the NWA World Tag titles coming up, but they will also have earned the right to challenge for the X-Division Tag Team Championships at any point in the future.”
Belly to back suplex from JTG. JTG with a thumb in the eyes as Rudy Charles starts the count. JTG breaks it momentarily and locks it back in for another count of 4 from Rudy Charles. JTG decides to show some strength, as he lifts Kendrick up on to his shoulder, holds him with one arm for about thirty seconds, and then tosses him down to the mat.
Tenay: “The number one contender to the WWX Championship, former champion Batista, also in action tonight, in what many in the locker room considers a surprise matchup. If I understand this correctly, it is going to be Spike Dudley of all people, perhaps as a result of Batista’s past with the Light Heavyweight Division, but back to the action in the ring, JTG is all over Kendrick as he delivers a headbutt straight to the gut.” Ross: “JTG gets an opportunity here, Professor, as you and I both know he is underestimated by most of his opponents even though he certainly has the in-ring ability to back up his words. But, here comes Charlie Haas back over to our announce table, looking a bit worse for wear, but nonetheless let’s hear from him...good god he just passed out right in front of us. Help him out, help him out! Will he be in any condition to even compete tonight?!" Virk: “Well no one is helping Kendrick in the ring, but our timekeeper is actually slapping Haas in the face to try and get him to come around on the outside.” JTG delivers a delayed vertical suplex. JTG has Kendrick up on his shoulder now and drops him with a shoulder breaker across the knee. JTG calling for something here, he measures Kendrick, and delivers a swinging neckbreaker. Cover by JTG: 1…2…3! Roberts: “Here is your winner as a result of a pinfall (da hand out), J-T-G!”
Virk: “JTG calls that move Da Hand Out, something which he is not going to need moving forward as he picks up a big victory over Kendrick here tonight.”

I liked Xplosion this week, I think your shows are very nicely set out and very clear to read although I’d do away with the underline on the matches. I see Mitch is still on a bad run, I thought he may pick up another win to get his career back on track but Jindrak mauled him! JTG/Kendrick was a nice match, happy we saw 2 matches this week written up. You’re improving week by week, some good stuff here mate.

Thank you dcw1, your feedback has made all the difference in my show. I have taken away the underline and decided to go with a different colour font, I hope that is better. I am hoping for something big with Mitch, but it is just not there yet. I'm really going for some back to basics stuff mixed in with some newer elements. My hope is that JTG/Kendrick is a World Title kind of match somewhere down the line.

Voting has closed. Big hand to dcw1 for the logo. Ross: "Welcome everyone to Monday Night Xplosion!” The Xplosion theme hits as soon as we cut away from JR. Virk: “We are live tonight from the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. I, Jim Ross, and ‘The Professor’ Mike Tenay joining you all once again live from ringside.” Tenay: “Opening the show tonight is everyone’s favorite opening minutes man, Mitch. The story behind this match, though, comes about as a result of Mitch’s loss to Mark Jindrak last week. As a result of his win, Jindrak was placed in the Openweight Championship tournament, a look at that bracket still to come, but Mitch is being punished by Tony Schiavone for his continued losses. Mitch has been attempting to establish himself as a singles wrestler, but Tony Schiavone says that until Mitch can put some wins on the board it is time for Mitch to do what Schiavone drafted him for in the first place, which is to form the Spirit Squad with tag team partner, Johnny, once again.” Ross: “They are definitely being thrown to the wolves here in this one Iron Mike. Their first match back in, what we can only assume, is regular tag team action and they face our champions, The Codemasters.” Virk: “Both teams allowed me to ask them each one question before the show started. I asked the Codemasters how they felt being placed in the opening match and being Schiavone’s enforcers, essentially. Chris Masters told me that as long as they are recognized as the best tag team on Xplosion it does not matter where they are on the card. Chris Jericho said that the Spirit Squad weren’t even good enough to make his list, but they will be good enough to show the world the extent of the Codemasters’ ability as a team, and that will be a direct message to William Regal and Carlito, who are set to challenge the champions at Gold Rush. I asked the Spirit Squad individual questions. I asked Johnny about their last Spirit Squad tag team match against the Mexicools and if he thought they were an appropriate warm up to immediately take on the X-Division Tag Team Champions. Johnny said the Spirit Squad is known for being such a cohesive unit that they were one of the biggest groups to all be recognized as tag team champions at the same time. He went on to say that Mitch was not focused on chasing the tag team titles, but he is. He said that if he can’t earn a tag title shot with Mitch, then he will be forced to find a new tag team partner. As for Mitch, I asked him how he felt about taking steps back on his journey towards making a name for himself. Mitch said he’s disappointed in himself, but he also feels that his Spirit Squad teammates could be more supportive and that that could make all the difference in his matches.” Ross: “I don’t think we would ever have thought we would be saying this, but is the Spirit Squad going to be able to work as a team tonight? Well, Virk, I think they just didn’t want to talk to you for very long because here both teams come, presumably to talk about their match right before it starts since they all have microphones.” Jericho: “You two shrimps think you’re better at cracking codes than we are? Who are you fooling? Mr. McMahon himself wasn’t able to do that job.” Masters: “You’ll soon find out that when you cross paths with the Codemasters there is no key. And tonight we’re going to lock you both out.” Jericho slaps Johnny in the face. Johnny: “Codemasters, tonight, in front of everyone, the Spirit Squad will show that you are the masters of nothing.” Mitch: “I’ll pick that lock tonight because I have to and, when I’m through, maybe I’ll take the tag titles on as a side project.”The Codemasters vs. The Spirit Squad The Codemasters pummel the Spirit Squad from behind to start the match as they were handing their gear off to the ring attendants. Each pair trading rights and lefts all over the ring. Masters delivers a devastating back elbow to Johnny. However, the Spirit Squad starts getting the upper hand and, eventually, clothesline both Masters and Jericho over the ropes and down to the floor.
Ross: “Naturally, if the Spirit Squad can keep this up, then they will have earned a championship opportunity down the line, but it is definitely an uphill battle for those two. It looks like Chris Masters and Johnny will officially start this one off. Surprisingly off to a good start is the Spirit Squad, perhaps their differences are behind them.” Virk: “Last week’s main event directly affected the tag team scene and the Codemasters now know that somewhere down the line they could be looking at a collision with the World’s Greatest Tag Team who are looking absolutely dominant here on Monday Night Xplosion after they came out on top in that one. After that match, though, it was the Codemasters who came out to offer their advice. Jericho told them that if they don’t take his advice they will not be able to defeat Los Boricuas in their tag team title match.”
Johnny bodyslams Masters and Tags into Mitch. The pair hit a double suplex before Mitch keeps Masters grounded with a chinlock. Mitch drags Masters over to the corner, Tags in Johnny, and it’s a double DDT this time. Johnny locks Masters into an armbar, demonstrating his mat based wrestling ability. Johnny pulls him over to his corner by the arm and Tags in Mitch. Johnny holds him so Mitch can deliver a stiff kick to the midsection. Mitch drapes him over the ropes by his arm and starts clubbing him on the back. Mitch twists the arm, Tags Johnny, and Johnny drops down with a forceful axhandle on the shoulder. Masters locks him up with him and tries to reach past him for the Tag in to Jericho.Virk: “Masters just shy of getting the Tag in to the fresh Jericho, but here is Mitch to help pull him back. No, referee Nick Patrick holds him back, but Masters makes the Tag in to Jericho. Wait a minute; Patrick is saying no Tag as Johnny pulls Masters back in to their corner.” Ross: “Illegal double team behind the referee’s back here as they repeatedly drive Masters’ back first into the turnbuckle. Snapmare from Johnny here, back into the armbar, and Johnny’s got his knee pressed into the face of Masters. Meanwhile, Patrick is giving Jericho the 5-count to get back on the apron.”
Tag in to Mitch, back to the top rope, and a fist drop onto the arm again. Mitch driving the fists into the arm before going for an armbar, and now Masters is trying to drive him back to make the tag again. Jericho reaches in and makes the Tag.
Virk: “An illegal Tag by Jericho as he used the ropes to reach further in to the ring. Jericho comes in and drives his fist into Mitch’s face to break up the hold and, now referee Patrick is saying no tag.”
Another armbar, then the Tag in to Johnny. Johnny drives Masters shoulderfirst into the turnbuckle. Johnny shoves the boot right under the chin of Masters and follows it up with an irish whip to the opposing corner. Johnny charges at him and Masters is finally able to slow the momentum with an elbow to the face. Bodyslam by Masters and Tag in to Jericho! Jericho comes in hot and goes for an elbow drop off the ropes immediately, but Johnny rolls out of the way. Johnny is on Jericho with an armbar behind the back and makes the Tag into Mitch. Mitch kicks the outstretched arm and goes back to the armbar on the mat. Mitch hits a leg drop to the arm, then it’s back to a standing arm wrench. Jericho pulls him down to the mat by his hair, and then tries to put him in a front facelock, but he can’t get a grip on it and Mitch backs him into the corner.
Tenay: “Last week, Charlie Haas got knocked around quite a bit and is certainly not in perfect condition, but he has accepted another singles match with a member of Los Boricuas ahead of their championship match at Gold Rush. That still to come tonight.”
Mitch begins stomping away at Jericho in the corner before going back to work on the arm. A Tag in to Johnny, who comes down across the shoulder once more. Johnny lifts Jericho up and drops him with a fireman’s carry slam before going for the cover: 1..kick out! Into a kneeling armbar now.
Ross: “Last week Mitch tried to make his case for a Grand Championship match against the former European Champion in Mark Jindrak, but his loss in that match ended up with him being forced to take on the X-Division Tag Team champions and, I think we have no choice, this crowd seems to be in favor of seeing more punishment inflicted on that young man.”
Jericho makes it back to his feet, but Mitch backs him into their corner and Johnny chokes him with the ring ropes. Mitch comes back over, Jericho rakes his face, and then Mitch responds with a thumb to the eye. The Tag is made into Johnny and they both shove him back first into the turnbuckle once more. Johnny goes for a tornado DDT, but Jericho reverses it into a northern lights suplex for a cover: 1…shoulder up. Jericho is on him quickly with a front facelock to keep him grounded.
Tenay: “Deafening Jericho chants from this crowd as referee Patrick checks the arm location because this hold could very easily develop into a choke. Patrick goes over to stop Mitch who was about to get involved, but, look at this, Jericho is holding down Johnny as Masters comes in and stomps all over his back. Now Masters is applying the facelock as Jericho takes a spot on the apron, but there was no tag.” Virk: “It’s a test of Patrick’s officiating here. He’s calling them out on it and Jericho says the Tag was made which…Referee Patrick is allowing. Clearly an unpopular call there, even from these fans.” Ross: “Charlie Haas may never be the same after last week and neither will our officiating after that call, in my opinion. But, nevertheless, Johnny slowly making his way back to his feet and Masters immediately taking him into the corner.”
Masters starts chopping away at him, he starts punching back, but Masters stops it with a thumb to the eye. Masters sends Johnny off the ropes looking for a back bodydrop, but Johnny dropkicks him and both men are down. Tag in to Jericho, who kicks Johnny in the ribs. He sends Johnny off the ropes; Johnny ducks the clothesline attempt, and delivers a flying clothesline of his own.
Tenay: “We certainly never thought we would see this matchup, especially after Mitch made his intentions very clear. Tag is made in to Masters now, who cuts Johnny off just as he was about to make the Tag himself.”
Masters goes back to the well looking for a back bodydrop, but Johnny counters with a swinging neckbreaker this time. Tag in to Mitch, who comes in on fire with a headbutt, and then sends him off the ropes and connects with the back body drop, which he follows up immediately with a body slam. Tag in to Johnny who delivers and elbow drop and goes for the cover: 1…2..Masters throws him off, but Jericho was ready to make the save anyway. Johnny with repeated punches to the face, and then sends him off the ropes to connect with a spinning back elbow. He sends him off the ropes again for another back body drop. Another cover: 1…2..and Jericho breaks this one up.
Virk: “Look out; here comes Mitch from across with the ring with a running knee strike to send Jericho down to the outside. The double team now as the Spirit Squad clubs away at the back of Masters. The set up now with Masters’ arms behind his back, Mitch off the ropes, and, oh no, Masters ducks out of the way and Mitch has just clotheslined his own tag team partner! Masters dropkicks Mitch out of the ring as he was trying to explain himself to Johnny. Johnny is having none of it, though, and tries to continue arguing with him on the outside, but he let his guard down and Masters from behind with the roll up. 1…2…3! He gets it.” Roberts: "Ladies and gentlemen, here are your winners as a result of a pinfall (roll up), they are the X-Division Tag Team Champions, The Codemasters!"
Ross: “It’s not over yet, here comes Mitch back in the ring now, and he’s got a slap for Johnny. He’s getting in his face and Johnny shoves him. They’re nose to nose at this point. Wait a minute…Mitch has put Johnny in the Master Lock! While The Champions just look on from ringside, but Chris Masters is definitely not impressed.” Tenay: “Our timekeepers are ringing the bell, but Mitch just does not care. These constant losses have to be eating him up, and this time he was not even pinned! Well it looks like Johnny has passed out and Mitch just tosses him to the side and heads back up the ramp. You can’t blame him for his frustration, but Johnny was one of his best friends at one point. We’ll bring you more on that if we get any more developments tonight, particularly regarding Johnny’s condition. However, up next we have Scott Stanford bringing us a special interview with the leader of the bWo, but, more importantly, for tonight’s purposes anyway, the Blood, Sweat, and Tears (BST) group that consists of himself, NWA Champion Bobby Lashley, and former Hardcore Champion Sabu. That man scheduled to compete in tonight’s main event; I am of course talking about Stevie Richards. Take it away, Scott, it’s all yours.”
Stanford: “Ladies and gentlemen, my guest at this time, fresh off his victory over Carlito last week, Stevie Richards. Many would say, unquestionably, the unsung hero of Xplosion.”
Ross: “It’s clear these fans are behind him, as they were not behind Carlito last week. The reason for this interview tonight is because his opponent should not be his opponent at all, but perhaps Richards has something he needs to get off his chest that we don’t know about.” Stanford: “A standing ovation for Stevie Richards. Just as it was a standing ovation for you two weeks ago, only two weeks ago you had another individual by your side. Unquestionably, everyone looked at it as an unlikely tag team to say the least.”
Richards: “Well, you know, it’s not the first time Stevie Richards has been in an ‘unlikely tag team’, it seems to me that, for some reason, each time I come to this ring I am a part of some mixed bag that people are calling an ‘unlikely tag team’. But, that’s why I made myself the leader of not one, but two massively successful groups. That was no easy task, believe me. I was tired of the term ‘unlikely’ continuing to follow me and, uh, I thought these groups would change that. But, when it didn’t, I realized that, for some reason, I had grown to like that. I liked going to the ring and having people have no idea who I was bringing with me that week. I know some people feel I’m finished because I’ve never won a WWX Title and that the WWF Hardcore Championship is as high as Stevie Richards is ever going to go. But, I don’t think they could be more wrong because I have won and I have lost extremely high profile matches. I lost the chance to become one half of the first ever World Tag Team Champions with my fellow BST member, Tommy Dreamer. I lost so many 6-Man tag team matches trying to find the right combination of guys for a 6-Man Tag title shot that I was promised as soon as I found those guys. Every time all I could hear were those skeptics who said I was finished, I was done, that’s as good as Big Stevie is ever going to get. They were all wrong then, and they are all wrong now. Let me ask you something, after my match with Carlito, do I look like a man who has nothing? The crowd screams No. I do feel like something is missing, though. I want everyone to know one thing, though, and that is that I believe in myself and I am going to go straight to the top of whichever division I choose. I thought the smartest thing I could do was to make myself a checklist, and I did just that. The first thing on my checklist is to prove that I can get it done both as a member of a tag team and solo. I’ve won tag team matches and singles match these last couple of weeks, so now, all I have to do is reach the top of the ladder. Tonight, that starts with my tag team partner, The Undertaker. I made him an offer, that’s right, I made a deal with the devil’s favorite son, and, much like the devil, he can’t reject a deal. We are talking about a man who did most of the work in our first match as a tag team. It’s also not lost on me that this is the biggest match of my entire career. The Undertaker won’t go around running his mouth, but I know there are those who think that my recent success is only because of the Deadman. Unquestionably, he deserves some credit, but he shouldn’t get all of it. I know that I can beat him and, guess what, I’m not afraid of him like many in this locker room. I asked for this match tonight because win or lose I will show, that I belong in the ring with him.”
Stanford: “Stevie, there is an investigation, as you know, regarding your controversial matchup with Carlito last week. Carlito was attacked before his matchup with you.” Richards: “I’ve never put a hand on anybody outside of a sanctioned match. I took advantage of Carlito’s injuries, though, that is just something that comes with the job. You exploit any weakness you can. But, I have never seen something as vicious as what it looked like was done to Carlito last week and I think Jack Tunney should form a committee or something to look into it. He’s one of the number one contenders to the X-Division Tag Team Championships and there’s got to be more to it than Carlito did not see anything, let me put it that way.” Stanford: “What will it take for you to realize your dream? What will it take for Stevie Richards to hold his first WWX belt?” Richards: “It’s going to take me going back to what worked before. I’m going to show Tony Schiavone that this isn’t a house show. This is the main event, and when people step in the ring with me, they are stepping in the ring with an architect, an engineer, and a master strategist. As far as the other items on my checklist, some people should be put on notice, like Batista, Senshi, and Kid Kash. I am on a freight train to the top and I am going to get what everyone knows should have been around my waist ages ago.” Stanford: “Well all right, the Master Strategist Stevie Richards!”
Roberts: “The following contest is set for one fall and is being contested in the X-Division Tag Team Championship division with a 10 minute time limit, when the bell rings, the man in charge WWX senior referee Mr. Earl Hebner. About to come down the aisle, standing at 6’, weighing in at 244lbs, from Oban, Scotland, this is Rory McAllister. And, introducing the opponent, standing at 5’8”, weighing in at 194lbs, from Mumbai, India, this is ‘The Guru’ Sonjay Dutt!”
Ross: “The Guru giving up both height and weight in this one. Look at Dutt heading down the ramp meaning all business and staring down his opponent. His opponent, as you just heard, Rory McAllister, who has been in a bit of a slump. In the past, he has been able to defeat former Global Champion, and currently in line for a WWX Championship match, Brian Kendrick on at least one occasion.” Hebner signals for the bell. The bell dings. Rory McAllister vs. "The Guru" Sonjay DuttTenay: “Okay, strategy time, as McAllister stretches his arms in the ring and the feeling out process begins. Adnan, our strategist for this one, if you’re McAllister, what do you do? I know you also had a couple words with him before he came out here.” Virk: “I’d say maybe he should have a doctor on standby.” They tie up and McAllister goes in to a side headlock. Dutt lifts him up and sends him off the ropes. Dutt runs through him with a shoulder tackle. Off the ropes again, and Dutt hits another shoulder tackle. And a third one. Dutt with a running springboard into a crossbody. Dutt in control with a snapmare into a chinlock. Then he drops down and delivers a headbutt. Dutt sends him into the corner and charges at him, but he misses with the splash, catching nothing but turnbuckle. McAllister goes for a standing dropkick, but Dutt slaps it away. Dutt picks him up and gives him a delayed vertical suplex. Virk: “Is that Charlie Haas over on the other side of the ring? Yes, what’s he doing now?” Dutt with a hip toss out of the corner and starts stomping away at him in the other corner. Dutt looks for a double axhandle in the corner, but McAllister catches him with a couple of kicks to the midsection. Dutt rakes the face. Tenay: “I don’t think I want to know too much about Haas and his thought process. He’s over there making faces at the camera. Anyway, you have to hand it to McAllister, to get back on the action in the ring; he’s really hanging on in this match, despite virtually no offense to speak of so far.” Dutt with another irish whip into the corner and he connects with the splash this time. Dutt grabs him and lifts him up for the torture rack with Earl Hebner right there to check for the submission. Hebner questioning if it’s a chokehold, but Dutt breaks it regardless. A back kick to the gut from McAllister and he follows it up with a European uppercut. Another kick to the midsection, but Dutt knocks him back with yet another headbutt. Bodyslam from Dutt. Dutt with a seated senton and then he heads to the top rope. He’s calling for it and…it’s a perfect 450 splash for the cover: 1…2…3! Roberts: “ Here is your winner as a result of a pinfall (450 splash)..the Guru Sonjay Dutt!” Ross: “Dutt victorious here on Xplosion, but McAllister lasted a surprising amount of time, he just couldn’t do it. More disturbing were the actions of Charlie Haas, how can we not be concerned after he came out, made faces at the camera, and then just left? Hold on folks, back in the ring, Dutt is hitting another 450 splash, and, yes, we did just show the replay of the first one, and, no, you’re not seeing things, he hit him again after the fact.” Virk: “I thought Gurus were supposed to be peaceful? He’s the only one capable of leaving that ring at this moment in time. Finally, Dutt is leaving the ring, but, as he does, here comes Senshi and he is headed right for McAllister. Oh, no, Dutt actually planned to hit the 450 splash a third time, but Senshi is shaking his head no at him.” Tenay: “Last week Senshi defeated Sonjay Dutt, but it looks like they still have unfinished business. Senshi is not even focused on his match with Kid Kash that’s still to come later tonight. Senshi already took out Dutt once and it looks like he is saying he won’t hesitate to do it again.” Ross: “Senshi dropkicks Dutt out of the ring, he’s taking care of business right there, but it seems like Senshi could be responsible for the non-peaceful Guru we saw in that ring. Senshi putting his match tonight at risk, but anybody in that locker room would have done the same if they believed they had to.” Tenay: “Here’s that update we were hoping for. Johnny has a mild concussion, but our medical staff is not clearing him to compete next week. So, in two weeks time it will be Johnny against Mitch and it might be safe to say that team is history on Xplosion.”

Voting has closed. Credit to dcw1 for the logo. Ross: "Welcome everyone to Monday Night Xplosion!” The Xplosion theme hits as soon as we cut away from JR.
Virk: “Welcome to New York City! Thank you for joining me, Adnan Virk, good ole’ JR, Jim Ross, and ‘Iron’ Mike Tenay’ live at ringside in the Manhattan Center! Tonight, as a result of defeating the former #1 contender, Senshi, one on one last week, we will see ‘The Notorious K-I-D’ Kid Kash get his shot at becoming the Light Heavyweight Champion when he squares off against the ‘Monday Night Delight’ himself, John Morrison.”
Tenay: “Absolutely, but the story here is that if the champion can successfully retain, and move past Kid Kash, a new number one contender will have to be named before Gold Rush because the stipulation for that event is that all of the gold will be on the line.”
Virk: “The last time we saw the champion on this program was his successful title defense against the challenge of Senshi.”
Ross: “As far as I am concerned, John Morrison is the greatest Light Heavyweight Champion that we could possibly have at this moment in time. Already a former World Heavyweight Champion as well, his resume is nothing short of remarkable."
Virk: “The crowd here chanting ‘weasel’ at Rory McAllister, who has already entered the ring for his match, not wanting an introduction it would seem, but he will be getting one anyway.”
Tenay: “Plenty of action scheduled here tonight on Monday Night Xplosion and we kick things off, as has become the norm around here, with Mitch trying to snap his losing streak. I can actually barely hear myself over the sound of this chant from this capacity crowd, Virk.”
Roberts: “The following contest is presented by the X-Division Tag Team division and is set for one fall with a 10-minute time limit. First of all, already in the ring, weighing in at 17 stone, standing at 6’, he is from Oban, Scotland, UK, this is Rory McAllister! And, introducing his opponent, he weighs in at 250lbs, standing 6’2’’, from Magnolia, Texas, this is Mitch! When the bell rings, the man in charge Mr. Rudy Charles.”
Ross: “That young man, Mitch, regardless of his win/loss record has certainly put in the effort and made a real connection with the fans; there is a standing ovation for him right now, as the fans know to expect to open the show with him each and every week at this juncture.”
Virk: “He has made his intentions clear that he wants to pursue Mick Foley and the Grand Championship, but Schiavone booked him against the tag team champions last week and this week he has him announced as a member of the tag team division, now it could be possible that he just wants the belts off of the Codemasters, so we will find out how they feel about all of this when they join us later tonight.” Charles calls for the bell. The bell dings. Rory McAllister vs. MitchTenay: “There are a lot of fans out there who have shown genuine concern for Charlie Haas. Where is he anyway, he has usually made an appearance by now.”
Ross: “Your guess is as good as anyone’s, Professor, but we still have no idea what Shelton Benjamin’s take is on all of this and that is something that, I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say, would reveal a lot to us.”
Virk: “Interestingly, I recall that when Benjamin and Haas were both drafted by Schiavone, Haas said that he was going to quit WWX right then and there. He said ‘forget it; I’m not going to be on the same show as him’. Haas’ reasoning was that the General Manager would be too tempted to team them up. Much like Mitch, he wanted to break away from his typecast as a tag team wrestler, but now he has an NWA Tag Title match coming up and he seems to have embraced that.”
Tenay: “Not only the match at Gold Rush, but, keep in mind also, the World’s Greatest Tag Team has an X-Division Tag Team title match in their back pocket. Haas knows where to find Mitch every Monday night, but Mitch does even seem the least bit interested in whatever Haas’ interest is there. Perhaps Haas is hearing voices in his head; it certainly would explain his bizarre behavior of late, in my mind.”
Ross: “This matchup is officially underway and, for just about the first minute here, all Mitch and McAllister have done is pace the ring and pose for the crowd. Not the usual fire and intensity we have seen from Mitch, is it?”
Virk: “Haas is not the only one hearing voices. Unfortunately, I’m hearing both of yours right now.”
Mitch takes him into a side headlock now. McAllister struggles with him, and then sends him off the ropes before dropping to the mat. Mitch hops over him, comes back, and leapfrogs him before the collision. Mitch off the ropes once more and a big dropkick to the face! Mitch chases after him to maintain the advantage, but McAllister slips to the outside. Ross: “Well Adnan you’re welcome to leave just like McAllister did just now. McAllister finds himself on the outside, much like Mitch probably would find himself if Tony Schiavone insists on forcing the Spirit Squad back together once more, speaking of which, in one week’s time it will be Johnny against Mitch right here on this program.”
Tenay: “Johnny and Mitch certainly do have a score to settle. After that matchup, the Spirit Squad may be finished. But, it’s clear that’s not what the General Manager wants. Can a team be forced to pursue the tag team championship, that’s what I want to know.”
Charlie Haas is out now and gets in McAllister’s face. They both seem absolutely incensed as they get nose to nose. McAllister shoves him off and makes his way back in to the ring. Mitch is sizing him up, being wary of Haas on the outside of course, and tries to go back into the side headlock, but twists around him with an armbar behind his back. McAllister counters with a back elbow that drops Mitch to the mat. McAllister starts dropping axhandles across his back. McAllister sends him off the ropes looking for a back bodydrop, but Mitch counters with a hard kick to the face. Mitch goes for a running knee lift, but McAllister counters by sending Mitch through the ropes and he lands right on top of Haas.
Ross: “I think he knocked Haas out with that fall!”
Virk: “Big deal. Mitch can do it all in that ring and he’s being disrespected like this, so Mitch is the story in this match. Haas can wait.”
McAllister pulls Mitch up to the apron by his hair and resumes clubbing the back. McAllister wrenches the head back and has him stretched across the ropes. He starts stomping on the down Mitch before backing him in the corner. He chops away at him and then sends him for a ride with authority into the opposing turnbuckle. McAllister chokes him through the ropes until he falls through and down to the floor. McAllister follows to the outside, hammers away at the back, and rolls him back in the ring. Mitch off the ropes and delivers a forearm to the face. McAllister fires back with a jab and a chop to the throat. McAllister bounces him head first off the ropes. Kick to the midsection, followed by a right, and then he tries a left, but gets blocked by Mitch. Mitch blocks another one and hits two rights of his own. Mitch building a bit of momentum as he chops away at McAllister on the ropes. Mitch sends him off the ropes and delivers a boot to the solar plexus, and then comes off the ropes for a running knee lift. Mitch measures him and snaps his head back.
Virk: “Mitch is clearly setting up for his new move that he wants to reveal to the world tonight, which is intended to stop his losing streak. But, you have to watch out for McAllister because he will stay on you and I’m still not convinced he’s not working with Haas in some way.”
McAllister catches him with an elbow shot and follows it up with a European uppercut. McAllister off the ropes now, looking for a big jumping splash, but Mitch is able to get the knees up. McAllister is back to his feet, but he is wobbly. Virk: “I know you guys think you could do this every Monday without me, I’m man enough to admit that, but wait until you see this new backstage interviewer they’re bringing in. He’ll-oh wait a minute, Mitch has just debuted his new finisher and it’s a modified Perfect-plex that he just delivered to McAllister for the cover! He has the leg cinched in, the shoulders are down, 1, 2, and 3! He got him!” Roberts: “ Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this contest as a result of a pinfall (modified Perfect-plex) Mitch!”

Mitch finally gets a win!! Maybe the modified Perfect Plex is the move that’ll change his fortune lol quite a good match, mostly brawling between them lots of strikes. Your commentary has been really good recently, interactions between the announce team has improved tremendously. I’ll give you my picks for next week some time tomorrow.

Yes, the end of a tough losing streak, can't wait to see where it goes. Tough times called for a new move, it paid off here. I definitely want it to feel like the announce team is important, so thank you for noticing that.

Voting has closed. Credit to dcw1 for the logo. Ross: "Welcome everyone to Monday Night Xplosion!” The Xplosion theme hits as soon as we cut away from JR.
Virk: “Live from Baltimore, Maryland it’s Monday Night! Me, JR, and Mike Tenay are with you from ringside. Being the broadcast journalist that I am, I made sure to get extra time from Mitch this past week after his big victory last week on this program. The Green Horse told me to tell all of you that his new finishing move, that modified Perfect Plex with a brainbuster feel to it, that we saw to conclude his match last week is called the Blue Ribbon. A new move and a new name, will that carry him to a victory over a man who was once one of his best friends, when he takes on Johnny in a grudge match later tonight.”
Tenay: “Last week’s main event contest saw Kid Kash finally get his shot to wear the crown of the Light Heavyweight Championship division, but fell just short when John Morrison got the three count to successfully defend his title for the fourth time. However, it was following that match, that Kid Kash, standing right above us, declared his intentions to join an already crowded Grand Championship division. So crowded in fact, that tonight’s main event will see the title defended in a lumberjack match. But, before that, Kid Kash will compete in a tag team match featuring four of the biggest competitors in that division. He gets his chance to prove himself once more and that’s still to come tonight.”
Ross: “We also have the start of the WWX’s first ever King of the Ring tournament to kick off tonight with the former WWX Champion set to take on the blue blood, William Regal, in a qualifying match, what a matchup that is going to be.”
Virk: “Not only will the number one contender walk away with his belt soon, but he will also add King of the Ring to his list of accomplishments. You can bet on that!”
Tenay: “Standing by, in his second night as a member of this team, is Scott Hudson to tell us more about the King of the Ring tournament. I just hope Kid Kash and Charlie Haas are under control because week to week we don’t know what Haas is going to do and we do know that Kash was furious with his loss to Morrison last week, even going so far as to slap Melina, who was only here for a few minutes to reunite with Morrison. Take it, Scott it’s yours.”
Hudson: “Thank you, Professor. I’d like to take a second to thank our sponsors as this King of the Ring report is brought to you by Snickers, remember, you’re not you when you’re hungry.”
Cut over to Charlie Haas. Haas: “I wouldn’t even be able to start the day without my Snickers bar. If you want to act like me, then grab a snickers!”
Hudson: “The fans are already voicing their enthusiasm and excitement over crowning the first ever King of the Ring. There are also talks backstage about retroactively crowning past Kings of the Ring in order to determine the #1 ranked competitor in certain divisions if no other way seems clear. Batista is the number one seed for obvious reasons, but unofficially until he wins his match later on tonight. Also, fully expected to qualify is former #1 contender to the NWA Championship Heidenreich. There is talk that it will be a rematch with his old rival, The Boogeyman. Talks of a third qualifying match are that Stevie Richards is demanding The Undertaker square off with his old rival, the current Grand Champion, Mick Foley. Remember now, it starts off with 16-men, but the actual tournament will only be comprised of the 8 who win their qualifying matches. Regardless of any outcome herein though, I can now confirm to you that the main event for our Gold Rush pay per view will indeed by the champion Montel Vontavious Porter giving Batista his rematch for the WWX Championship. I am also getting word now that Mitch has gone over General Manager Schiavone’s head and has made a call to WWX President, Jack Tunney. No word yet on what that situation is all about, but, of course, more information will be made publicly as soon as we have it for you. Qualifying matches will continue next week as Brian Kendrick is set to square off with the lucha libre sensation and the number one ranked competitor for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship, Super Crazy. Also, provided there is no on-going situation at the time, Mitch will compete against Charlie Haas. Now then, let’s send it back to the announce table for more Monday Night Xplosion!”
Virk: “Could one of the men involved in this opening contest possibly be our first King of the Ring? There are still some spots left in the qualifying matches that have yet to be revealed.”
Roberts: “The following contest is set for one fall with a 15-minute time limit and is sanctioned by the National Wrestling Alliance in conjunction with World Wrestling Xcellence as being contested in the World Junior Heavyweight division. Introducing first, standing at 5’8, weighing in at 150lbs, from Dudleyville, this is Spike Dudley! And, introducing his opponent, he is a former WWX Internet Champion, standing at 5’8, weighing in at 194lbs, from Mumbai, India, he is ‘The Guru’ Sonjay Dutt! When the bell rings, the man in charge, WWX senior referee, Mike Chioda."
Ross: “The one time Internet Champion Sonjay Dutt about to square off with the man who is directly after Super Crazy for a shot at Rockstar Spud from the Xplosion side of the World Junior title picture. Look at this! Dutt clotheslining Dudley into the corner before Roberts even finishes speaking!”
Chioda signals for the bell. The bell dings. Spike Dudley vs. Sonjay DuttDutt picks him up, takes him across the ring, and slams his head off the opposing turnbuckle. Dutt picks him back up and delivers an overhead belly to belly suplex. Dutt stomps on his face.
Tenay: “The past few weeks on this program, all of the attention has been focused on Mitch and his losing streak, but he isn’t the only one with a streak like that, is he? Spike Dudley has said that he will earn a match with the World Junior champion in the future, but just 30 seconds in to this match and he has spent all of that time on his back. Mitch has the fans rallying behind him, could we see the same success story from some of these other guys with obstacles to overcome?”
Dutt picks him up and connects with a stiff shortarm clothesline. Dutt uses a single leg takedown and locks in an STF right in the center of the ring. Dutt releases him and begins slamming his head off the mat. A mule kick from Dutt, which he follows up by picking him up and slamming his head back off the top turnbuckle once more. Dudley tries to get some momentum going by throwing a few elbows from the mat, but to little effect because Dutt shuts him down by jamming his fingers in the eyes.
Ross: “This is a vicious side of Dutt that I can’t recall seeing too much of before, as he goes to work stomping on the face of his opponent once again. He rotates his arm before knocking him back to the mat with a back elbow to the face. Perhaps this is about him being unable to regain the Internet Championship because of the draft, but we can’t know for certain.”
A series of standing elbow drops from Dutt before he ties Dudley up like a pretzel in a reverse triangle choke with the leg hooked and Dudley taps out almost immediately. Roberts: “ Here is your winner, as a result of a submission (reverse triangle choke), ‘The Guru’, Sonjay Dutt!” Virk: “Still no word on what the situation is with Mitch, at this point, hopefully we have something to share before the night is over.”

Wow Spike had no offense in that match lol Dutt dominated him. I like the commentary, I feel sometimes though the commentary run down at the start of the shows are too long, they literally explain everything that’s happening rather than a quick rundown then into a match. It adds context which is good especially as not all the matches get posted so it’s kind of a catch up but now and again I’d like to see the action get under way almost immediately just to change it up.

Yeah, unfortunately, some matches are just necessary to be like that. In some ways in an attempt to build a guy up, take a guy down, or just for some variety. Although, even I have to admit, many of my opening contests are going to be like that just as sort of a slow build to later in the night when matches get so good they could literally go either way, even on paper.
I hear you on the commentary. I'm going to do my best to make it a healthy mix of what's needed with play by play analysis, but I view the commentary as what kind of makes the whole show because otherwise it's just move after move with no filter, even though I care more about the matches than the story I still want the commentary to have a meaningful place. I do feel like sometimes I jump right into it, but if you could help me out further on this point just until I have it at a balance that makes sense, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for the honest feed back!

Voting has closed. Thank you to dcw1 for the logo. The Xplosion theme, Muse’s “Uprising”, plays over the title card to lead us in to this week’s event. Featuring shots of MVP attacking Batista in the corner and the first ever Xplosion main event a falls count anywhere triple threat between Hulk Hogan, Umaga, and Snitsky.
Ross: “Welcome everyone to Monday Night Xplosion! Welcome to the Manhattan Center in New York City! This edition of Monday Night Xplosion comes to you with myself, Jim Ross, alongside ‘Iron’ Mike Tenay and Adnan Virk from ringside. We are quickly approaching Gold Rush, but, until then, the Animal Batista will be joining us in the ring later tonight, both the Grand and Light Heavyweight Champions will be in action, as well as our X-Division Tag Champions. Sabu continues his search for a tag team partner to make a run for the tag belts with, so a mystery partner will be coming to the ring with him. As I said, Mick Foley also receives his rematch for the Grand Championship after losing it one week ago on this program.”
Tenay: “Coming up right now, though, is an interesting contest because Tony Schiavone has confirmed to us that he fully intends to force the Spirit Squad to wrestle for the tag team titles, even though they beat the hell out of each other just last week on this program. Besides, both men have gone on record as saying you can call them anything you want; just don’t call them male cheerleaders anymore.”
Virk: “Regardless, Professor, this match was marketed as a singles match featuring a battle between the Spirit Squad and the Mexicools in the tag team division. Let’s see how this one plays out as we send it up to ringside.”
Roberts: “The following contest is set for one fall with a 10-minute time limit and is presented to you by the WWX X-Division Tag Team Championship division, introducing first, already in the ring, standing 6’, weighing in at 218lbs, from San Diego, California, representing the Spirit Squad, this is Johnny! And, about to make his way down the aisle, representing the Mexicools, standing at 5’10, weighing in at 200lbs, from Tijuana, Mexico, this is Psicosis! When the bell rings, the man in charge, WWX senior referee, Mr. Rudy Charles.”
Virk: “Johnny none too pleased with being announced that way, as he gripped Justin Roberts, our ring announcer, up by the tie, and Roberts, of course, pleading with him and trying to tell him that that’s how Schiavone wanted him announced. But, it took the punch from behind by Psicosis to stop that from escalating any further.”
Psicosis receiving heavy boos from the crowd for breaking that up.
Rudy Charles calls for the bell. The bell dings! Psicosis vs. JohnnyJohnny turns around to face Psicosis as the bell rings and gets dropped with an uppercut. Psicosis lifts him up and tosses him with a bodyslam. Irish whip off the ropes, Johnny ducks the clothesline, but cannot avoid the hip toss. Psicosis delivers a double underhook powerbomb into a cover: 1..Psicosis lifts the shoulders up. Psicosis measures him and delivers a hard right to the face, which drops him to a knee. Psicosis sends him off the ropes and catches him with a dropkick to the face. Cover by Psicosis: 1…2.Psicosis lifts the shoulders up again. Psicosis hits a big headbutt, and then steps on his head for two four counts from Charles. Psicosis sends him off the ropes again and hits a flying clothesline. Psicosis back to stepping on the head. Psicosis clubbing forearms to the back. Psicosis hits a spinning neckbreaker and follows it up with a diving leg drop off the top rope into the cover: 1…2…3! Roberts: “ Here is your winner, as a result of a pinfall (diving leg drop), Psicosis!” Ross: “Very short work of Johnny by Psicosis and he adds insult to injury by tossing Johnny out over the top rope. Psicosis did tell me before this match took place that he felt particularly snubbed that he is not included in the first King of the Ring tournament, especially since his tag team partner, Super Crazy, was already named the number one contender to the NWA Junior Heavyweight Title. Johnny could also have been thrown off by the antagonism of the general manager, but, nonetheless, Psicosis is victorious to open tonight’s show.”

Voting has closed. Thank you to dcw1 for the logo. The WWX logo appears on screen and fades into the Xplosion logo. We then see footage of former WWX Champion Batista beating up William Regal to kick off the first ever King of the Ring tournament and we also get a replay of Psicosis uppercutting Johnny and dumping him over the top rope, which resulted in a one week suspension. Fireworks and pyro go off to lead in to Jim Ross, Mike Tenay, and Adnan Virk at ringside.
Virk: “We are live from the Manhattan Center in New York, New York tonight. Welcome one and all. Xplosion is on the air.”
That plays us into a “Gold Rush” vignette which states that not only is all of the gold going to be on the line, but that the WWX will be returning to its roots in the aftermath.
Ross: “The headlining match of that event is to be presented by us, we are the flagship show after all, and we proudly present our champion, Montel Vontavious Porter defending against the former champion Batista.”
Tenay: “That is undeniably an important contest, but, not taking into consideration our partnership with the National Wrestling Alliance, many fans, myself included, believe that the division that currently has Xplosion on the map is our Light Heavyweight Championship division. The current Light Heavyweight Champion is a former World Champion, one of the only men in this company to hold a pinfall win over CM Punk, and he doesn’t even have an opponent for Gold Rush. Unacceptable in my opinion, but let’s send it to the ring where JB is standing by with the man that everyone is saying should be Morrison’s challenger, he is Scotty 2 Hotty. Take it away, JB.”
Scotty: “Last time you saw me, Sabu and I were unable to defeat the tag team champions, but since then I have put myself in a position to be the biggest threat to John Morrison’s championship. Tonight, I asked for and received a match with the former number one contender, Brian Kendrick. Since Morrison won the title, he has never beaten me in a match.” Borash: “Well I think you certainly are proving that anybody can be a threat to any championship at any time in the WWX. Something which, until moments ago, may have been up for serious debate.” The crowd chants “Monday Night Delight” at them.
Scotty: “To sweeten the deal, if I am for some reason unable to defeat Brian Kendrick tonight, then I will step aside and next week will be the number one contenders match since there are currently only three contenders left.”
Virk: “Well, we were expecting a response from somebody in the Light Heavyweight Championship picture, but here comes Senshi instead. Senshi, it’s no secret, has been promised a match with the Legends Championship on the line at some point, but it will be Sabu challenging Shawn Michaels at Gold Rush.” Senshi: “While you have everyone’s thoughts turned to your match, they are forgetting about the first King of the Ring tournament going on. While you even doubt yourself about whether or not you can beat a guy who failed to do what you’re attempting to do, we still have yet to even see the full scope of this tournament. You had better hope your focus stays on the Light Heavyweight Championship because I intend to make being King of the Ring mean more than getting to walk around with a cape for a few months.”
Tenay: “Senshi referring to the fact that the board of directors has not announced a final decision as to the field of the first ever WWX King of the Ring. In fact, no qualifying match scheduled to take place on tonight’s show, but, even more than that, Senshi still has not been informed that he has even been chosen to take part in this event.”
Ross: “For that matter, Scotty 2 Hotty could be named a participant. We know that the Boogeyman and William Regal have both been eliminated and Psicosis has, for some reason, been denied the chance to earn himself a spot.”
Virk: “Probably because the board thinks that the fans turn the channel when they see him. He was big in AAA, but this is the big time, this is what have you done for me lately territory.”
Tenay: “To add insult to injury, Psicosis is not in the building tonight. General Manager Schiavone has even told us that he’s contemplating putting Psicosis on the shelf completely until the next draft is called for.”
Roberts: “Ladies and gentlemen, the opening contest for tonight’s action is a second round match in the Openweight Championship Tournament, the winner and loser of this match will go on to compete later tonight in a second bout.”
Before he can continue, he is interrupted by General Manager Tony Schiavone coming down to ringside and whispering something in his ear.
Roberts: “I have just been informed that one of the participants in this contest has been ruled ineligible to compete for this championship during the weigh in and must choose a replacement to compete for him in this match.”
Brother Ray’s music hits, the anger on his face is evident. Ray: “ Schiavone screws me out of this championship by suddenly setting the weight limit at 260lbs and he thinks he can make it better by putting me in the King of the Ring tournament? Okay, you remember this one, Tony. You never even told me who my opponent was in this match. So, to face your mystery man, I have chosen one of my former tag team partners, one half of the current number one contenders to the NWA Tag belts, Charlie…Haas!” Roberts: “And introducing his opponent, being led to the ring by Mark Jindrak, he stands at 6’2, weighs in at 250lbs, he is the ‘Green Horse’….Mitch! When the bell rings, the man in charge, WWX official, Mr. Earl Hebner.” Earl signals for the bell.
The bell dings. Openweight Championship Tournament Round 2 Charlie Haas (w/ Brother Ray) vs. Mitch (w/ Mark Jindrak)Mitch delivers a standing dropkick almost the same second the bell dings. He stands over Haas and reigns down rights and lefts to the face. Mitch picks him up and hits a back suplex.Ross: “Mitch throws Haas through the ropes and he lands at the feet of Brother Ray, who has decided to stay at ringside for this match. No question Schiavone wants an Openweight Champion going into Gold Rush, but we have gotten word that the other General Managers are leaving the exact date of the event open for debate.”
Mitch slams Haas head first off the announce table, then uses the barricade for a slingshot suplex on the outside before rolling Haas back in to the ring at Hebner’s six count. Mitch quickly hops up to the top turnbuckle to delivers a flying clothesline and then he measures a dazed Haas. Mitch has him hooked and delivers the Blue Ribbon-plex for the cover: 1…2…3!Roberts: “ Here is your winner as a result of a pinfall (Blue Ribbon), and advancing in the Openweight Championship Tournament, Mitch!’

WWX Xplosion August 16, 2021:
dcw1's logo [Footage opens the show from a few weeks back of Super Crazy being declared the number one contender to the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship and a couple of weeks after that when Super Crazy had an impressive showing against Brother Ray.]
Jim Ross, Adnan Virk, and Mike Tenay at ringside. Jim Ross: “ Welcome everyone and thank you for welcoming us into your living rooms once again for another Xplosion as I’m sure you all eagerly await Gold Rush as I do.” The capacity crowd in the Pepsi Center is making a lot of noise as the pyrotechnics go off and signal that the show is about to begin." Tenay: “Tonight, for Xplosion’s big 70th episode, we have a huge card on deck. King of the Ring Qualifying continues and the number one contendership for the Light Heavyweight Title Match at Gold Rush is up for grabs.” Virk: “ Not to mention the big main event which will see Xplosion crown the first ever WWX Openweight Champion. But, opening the show tonight, here is our esteemed General Manager, Tony Schiavone.” Tony Schiavone: “ I promise not to take up too much of the show tonight. I had to come out here and say thank you. Thank you to myself, for putting out the best program week in and week out. I put everything on the line each and every week and I just had to make sure somebody gave it the shoutout it deserves. I am the one who is going to make brand-exclusive WWX pay-per-view content possible next year. I’d also like to take a moment to thank the most important people. The other General Managers. If they didn’t consistently put out weaker product, then I wouldn’t be able to look as good doing what I love to do day in and day out. On a day where all anyone can talk about is what does Schiavone have cooked up for the big Xplosion 70th episode spectacular? It’s all people want to talk about. The speculation of what can I do to top the already highest rated program in WWX? Well, I can tell you this, I am taking it to strange new places.” Borash: “ An unsurprising speech from the General Manager just moments ago. Two men who know the General Manager extremely well, members of what some people are saying could develop into a new Ministry of Darkness, William Regal and Stevie Richards. Guys, what is your involvement with former Grand Champion, The Undertaker, and how do you respond to what Schiavone just said?” Richards: “ I am not going to be worried about words. Regal seems surprised by this I’m not. Richards says to Regal So, I’m not going to, but I will say that it was nice that he didn’t take up that much time like he promised. Well, actually, he probably could have just not said anything at all, but people like Mark Jindrak need constant hand holding from the GM. It’s not our problem, until Schiavone decides to make it our problem.”They are interrupted by Mitch and JohnnyMitch: “ No, no, no. You are only right about one thing. What Schiavone just said is not your problem. But as long as all of us can still claim to be the next one in line for a shot at Mark Jindrak, or unless I become the Openweight Champion, I am going to be your problem.” Regal: “ If last week is any indication of the kind of problem you’ll be, after your unfortunate losing streak, I think it would be wise for you to not start fights that you don’t know for sure you can win. Did you beat Richards? Did you beat me? You didn’t. The rule is never pick a fight with a bare-knuckle brawler until you have the experience. Are you sure you wouldn’t rather let the pom-poms do the fighting? Hmm? Oh, what’s this now?” The camera pans to WWX Grand Champion Mark JindrakJindrak: “ Mr. Regal, you really should be watching your own show more. I expected more from an Englishman. The three of us are new men. It looks like you could benefit from the same training that’s turning Mitch into the Blue Ribbon winning Green Horse that’s soon to be a champion in this company.” Regal: “ It looks like…you doubt my nature as well mannered Englishman, do you? Well why don’t you just watch out there tonight in that ring, when I lead The Undertaker in a win over a former WWX Champion. The man who ended the first and longest WWX Championship reign in history, and I’m going to be standing victorious over his bruised corpse. And with The Undertaker by my side, that should prove it to you more than these statements.” Justin Roberts: “ The following one on one contest is set for one fall. Introducing first, standing at six feet, weighing in at 218lbs, from San Diego, California, Johnny! And, making his way to the ring, his opponent, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing in at 209lbs, from Tulancingo, Hidalgo, he is the current number one contender to the World Junior Heavyweight Championship, Super Crazy! The referee for this match is Rudy Charles.” Roberts signals for the bell.Virk: “ Super Crazy already set to be involved in Gold Rush where he will challenge for the title as Justin Roberts just said, but Johnny finds himself without a match that night. Remember, every championship will be on the line, time permitting.” The bell dings.Match 1: Super Crazy vs. Johnny Collar and elbow tie up. Johnny overpowers him into the corner, rights and lefts to the midsection, and then delivers a huge open palm slap to the chest that gets a reaction from the crowd.Ross: “This past Monday night, Johnny wasn’t scheduled, but he made his presence felt when he attacked Super Crazy backstage, which led to Tony Schiavone booking this matchup tonight.” Virk: “ Everyone’s claiming they deserve a shot at any championship, but Super Crazy has proven it.” Tenay: “ Hopefully anyone that steps into that ring thinks that they are a championship contender.” Irish whip into the opposite corner, followed up by another open hand slap. Irish whip into a third corner, a charge, but Super Crazy gets him with a kick to the face. Super Crazy takes him out at the knee with a chop block. Super Crazy starts wailing on him with clubbing blows to the back, and then delivers a stiff stomp to the chest.Virk: “ Look at Super Crazy go! He’s got him down. All he has to do is keep him down and show why he’s the number one contender. Super Crazy could be staying on his opponent more here, perhaps underestimating him now.” Each time Johnny tries to stand back him he’s kicked back down on the chest. Five kicks to the chest and one to the head, and then Super Crazy bounces off the ropes and drops a leg. Super Crazy into the cover, Charles into position, 1…2..kick out. Johnny starts to stand up, then Super Crazy dropkicks him into the corner, and follows it up with rights and lefts to the midsection. Super Crazy starts to throw some elbows to the chest and neck area and Charles is forced to back him off. Super Crazy uses the momentum and hits a big splash in the corner. A couple more gut punches, then another splash. The crowd begins to chant for Ace Steel. Super Crazy goes for an irish whip, but Johnny stops dead in his tracks and reverses it with an irish whip of his own into the corner. Johnny goes for a splash, but Super Crazy ducks out of the way. Super Crazy delivers a high shoulder tackle off the ropes and goes for the cover: 1…2..Johnny gets the shoulder up. Johnny is slow to get up and Super Crazy is clubbing him every step of the way.Ross: “Johnny can hurt you if he finds an opening. And he’s trying to answer Super Crazy’s clubbing blows with some of his own now. Super Crazy of course feels like he has a great chance of leaving with the championship and, if he does, he says that it would be a huge honor for him.” Tenay: “ It would be huge for his career. As everyone is well aware, Super Crazy never won a championship during his career with the WWF. It would be something he could talk about for years to come as to why he should be taken seriously.” More gut punches and then Super Crazy tries to clothesline him to the outside, but Johnny hangs on. Super Crazy bounces off the ropes to finish the job with another clothesline, but Johnny ducks down and hits a spear! Virk: “What’s Super Crazy gonna do here, though? Wow, what a hellacious spear from Johnny!” Johnny rips down his Spirit Squad tights, he measures him, Super Crazy stands up and gets hit with a spinning heel kick. Johnny hops up to the top turnbuckle and connects with a somersault leg drop. Into the cover: 1…2…3!Roberts: “ The winner of this match…Johnny!” Ross: “ For the past couple of weeks on this program, we have seen Mitch do everything in his power to break from his Spirit Squad past and become a wrestler in his own right. In my estimation, Johnny has just done the same thing here tonight.” Virk: “ If I had to put money on it, I might say that we could be looking at two title reigns for the Spirit Squad boys in the very near future.” Tenay: “ An impressive, almost punctuated with a bang at the end, victory for Johnny. He just defeated the man who will get a shot at the NWA’s World Junior Heavyweight Championship at Gold Rush. It was a great performance.”
