WFWF: Under the Dome Review

The Tokyo Dome, my favorite venue. Nothing but chaos ensued when the WFWF ran their show, aptly named Under the Dome. As somebody that’s covered the WFWF for a while now, this show had tons of buzz leading up to it which is a good thing but right off the bat – TOO. MUCH. MESH. She was in, like 2-3 segments ON TOP of her decent match against Smash. It felt like The Mesh Show at times which really took me out of the action sometimes. I would comment on Mesh’s new hair, but I wouldn’t want to get some flak for commenting on the appearance of a woman unlike some other “journalist”….
All in all, okay show. The biggest letdown of the night was hands down, the contract signing between Whitner and Frank. It just felt.....flat. They were building to something and then it just....ended. I was very disappointed, to say the least.
Oh, yeah – Drakz tweeted me after my last review. I get that, but you just don’t disrespect the title like that. The WFWF International Championship is one of the most prestigious titles and you just killed its credibility. Just because you have “bigger fish to fry” doesn’t mean you should devalue something that the rest of the roster wants and should be fighting for.
RYAN “NEEDLES” PAYNE vs. CHRIS PRICELESS - *1/2
If blood makes you squeamish, then you don’t want to watch this. If blood gets you off, then watch this match. “Brutality” is what comes to mind when I think of this match. Tons of blood and tons of spitting which I thought was unnecessary. There was a woman in the audience that kept gagging next to me while this match was going on.
“THE KETO CATCH KING” KC JONES vs. BILLY BROOM - **
KC Jones stole the show. He has more charisma in his pinky finger than most WFWF wrestlers. I don’t like Broom and of course, they showed his daughter in the audience. Like that’s going to garner sympathy. When Broom is in the ring with a great opponent, he looks like a million bucks. Makes sense since he was in there with The Keto Catch King!
SEAN CASEY vs. SHUGGY - ****

SEAN CASEY vs. SHUGGY - ****
I’m a big fan of Bish but….I don’t know how I feel like Shuggy. One thing I will say is I hate his name. It messes with my spellchecker. That being said, this was the most technical match on the card. Casey looked great as always, but he didn’t get the win. Shuggy looks like the mascot from Lucky Charms. Oh wait, he’s Scottish, not Irish. Never mind. #caseywasrobbed
MESH vs. LANCE RODRIGUEZ - **3/4
I feel bad for Smash. Not only did he not win his comeback match, but he had to face Mesh. Smash was in tremendous shape and he kept up with her the whole match but man, I was mesh’d out by this point, so I didn’t care and from where I was sitting, so did Knight. To make matters worse, the Red Sox lost today – to the Cleveland Indians too, so not a good day for Smash or anyone from Boston.
TUGARIN ZMEY vs. DRAKZ - ****
Despite our difference of opinion, I respect Drakz. He always brings it in his matches and this was no exception. I could have done without Drakz calling the referee the c-word, it’s such an offensive word. The ending with Kyzer coming out with two possible WFWF vets was….confusing, like everything that he’s involved in.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill, but we present it as fact. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt. Or not. Up to you.
- Immediately following Under the Dome, it was reported that KC Jones was released from the company. According to rumors, Jones apparently got an huge offer to sponsor a gluten-free, non-GMO, organic protein powder and other products by AlphaXL. The talk of his twenty-million-dollar contract was the talk of the town for a while there but it seems like Jones is making even more bank.
- We haven’t seen A-wut, the little Thai boy that’s serving as the representative of injured David Brennan since Second to None. According to rumors, he was sent back to Thailand since he was over in the states illegally and will be stripped of the WFWF World Heavyweight Championship because of this.
- Some people are accusing Chris Priceless of using “outside interference” in his gruesome match against Ryan “Needles” Payne. According to rumors, Priceless was overheard talking to himself backstage and he kept referring to someone as “You”.
- The WFWF was in some hot water leading up to this show following the Daniel Knight controversy and according to rumors, the company made sure to dispose of any signs that insulted the commentator as the crowd entered the venue. There was one in particular that featured a dog pissing on a picture of Knight that really upset the higher-ups of the company, according to rumors.
- In one of the most bizarre rumors of the month, Mesh was apparently given a box of plushies as compensation from the company after the whole Daniel Knight incident. WFWF General Manager Lila Sleater was rumored to be “super pleased” with how Mesh handled the situation.
If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below.
