I saw a game when Davis had I think 7 blocks and over 13 rebounds and was looking like a men amoung highschool players offensively in summer league.
I know summer league is scummer league but he is a Center and Center's always have jobs and endless ball licking.

Just throwing these names out there and I really don't know how whacked the Celtics cap room is now but these guys would be decent moves to bring in if you can get them cheap....
Eddie House, Jannero Pargo, Brevin Knight and Earl Boykins could all get minutes on that team.
Pargo is probably a joke but the other three are respectible back up's and good options.
Mutombo and Big Jake are still out there too for Centers.
Say what you will about Mutombo but a one year deal for a low price can't be looked at as bad. He was still a big factor for the Rockets last year, especially when Yao was hurt.

yeah, retired numbers blow. and, i don't think Mutombo's playing anywhere but Houston for another year or two. As for pg's, I would look into Pargo, but they already have a young guy in Rondo, so...Boykins? either way, Boston's cap space is gonna be ed up with Garnett signing an extension and all.

Celts still have the mid level to use, so who knows. Who cares about cap space, in 5 years your window is gone anyways, so suck it up now and go nuts

Retired numbers are awesome. It's just too bad in Atlanta we only have like 3.

I thought KG was going to pick #12, but maybe he wanted a number that was similar to Bill Russell's.

Eh, I guess if you're a franchise with Boston's legacy it isn't a problem to worry about cap space,
but most other teams? I don't know, you want to be set-up for the long term and losing two future first-round picks sure doesn't help.

For a team that has refused to spend any money, or smart money, they just shelled out 80$ to KG, I think some extra cash for the Brevin Knights of the world wont be the worst thing

I am mixed on retired numbers... I only think players of Legendary status should receive such an honor... The Yankees tend to overdo it. Granted, a lot of their players deserve it, but they have stretched it out a bit with a few of their selections... it used to be a special honor, now its kind of a trendy thing.

My whole take on Boston's cap space is pretty much what Ralpho's is... it has to be spent some time and further more... it's Kevin ing Garnett. You don't pass that up, especially when Boston was as bad as they were. I know they threw away all the youth and the picks, and will prob win 45-50 games this year if they don't add in another handy player... but the next two years after that, could be worth it. This year will be tough because all the focus is on them and they really are 3 players deep with Ray Allen potentially going down at any minute. Anytime you have Garnett and Pierce on the roster you have a chance... a hell of a lot more of a chance than about 24 teams do. If they add a few role players or one nice PG there's a good chance of an Eastern Championship. It just sucks because in the East you can battle all playoffs long but nothing prepares you for the West in the Finals. Not to mention that franchise is gonna pull in serious money now so that's a no brainer. A bit off my rant though... I've always believed players who "need help" on their team, just are overall full of crap. It seems like they always need more help, or when good players come, it's not enough. I mean guys like Kobe, Pierce, Garnett, Iverson... guys who were on teams that highly underachieved. I do not discredit Garnett because we know he goes hard all the damn time. But it makes you wonder.. if they are so good why should they need another superstar to do it? Jason Kidd has made teams who were predicted to be under .500 go to the Finals two years in a row.. not to mention every single team he's ever been on competes in some form that is respectible. Tim Duncan, ditto. Shaq, ditto.. although I don't respect his work ethic. Jordan, Magic, Barkley, Bird... those guys all had some crappier teams than they usually had at some points and still respectibly competed. Hell, the Suns team Barkley ran with wasn't even that great on paper without him. Kevin Johnson was a great player but get serious. I just think in the game of basketball either you are a natural leader or can adapt to be and you generally have it from the start... look at Lebron compared to Kobe... I rest my case.

the royals only have 3 retired numbers and all of them deserve it. personally i think they should add one more and that man should be the quiz.
