WFWF presents:
New Day Rising
LIVE from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC
The Main Event!
---------------------------------------------------
Trevor Wolf vs. David Brennan
Back to Basics culminated in the complete and utter collapse of the Revolution along with its vision of a more perfect and merited WFWF. Promises of spirited competition and technical proficiency soon gave way to the ruthless and destructive scenes that have become synonymous with WFWF programming. A pair of heinous attacks upon the WFWF's undisputed champion, the second of which saw one of the company's titles finally wrested from his grip, left David Brennan a bloodied, seething mess, no doubt hellbent on retribution. His first target? The returning, possibly immortal Trevor Wolf. Conspicuously absent since his reemergence from beyond the grave at SuperBrawl, Wolf lent his hands to the perpetration of his own vicious attack, laying the prodigious Anna Ahriman to waste as he sought to make his presence felt. He'll get his chance in short order, as he comes upon the opportunity to pick on someone his own size, with the opportunity to pick up a huge, huge win over the reigning World Champion looming just within his reach.
Prove Your Worth!
---------------------------------------------------
Mak Cross vs. Frank Lynn
There was a time when Mak Cross was seen by many as one of a number of rising talents in the WFWF that would carry the industry to new heights. A semi-regular in numerous title scenes, the height his overtures toward championship glory saw him entering the masochistic world of Phillip Schneider at Psycho Circus alongside several others in an all-in, though ultimately unsuccessful attempt at dethroning the deranged World Champion. In many ways, at least until after the events of Back to Basics had come to pass, many parallels between his career and that of one of the company’s newest rising stars, newly crowned WFWF International Champion Frank Lynn, could be drawn - a tale of two promising young prospects, ever in pursuit of the glory that comes with a championship reign, always scratching the surface, but never seeming to be able to shatter the ever present ceiling. Today, however, is a new day - Frank Lynn has shown the world at large to what lengths he’s willing to go to achieve his ends, and Mak Cross, long thought to have been resigned to an entry in the WFWF’s storied history, is back. One man will undoubtedly be seeking the opportunity to prove the naysayers who would question the validity of his championship stature invariably wrong, and what better opportunity for a returning star to make a new first impression than to knock the champion right off of his pedestal. This one could quickly turn personal, kids!
The Battle for Momentum!
---------------------------------------------------
Tyler Draven vs. Brandon Bison
Brandon Bison shocked the world at Back to Basics, coming off of an extended hiatus and declaring, rather on theme, that Back to Basics would be the start of a new day in his career. His return was met by the WFWF Multiverse with uproarious welcome, and he seemed all but poised to walk out of New Orleans and on to the next on an unshakeable wave of pure, energized momentum….then Tyler Draven sucked the air right out of the room. The former charge of one Trace Demon peeled back one of his undoubtedly numerous layers, showing a new depth of depravity and malleability as - at the behest of WFWF General Manager Lila Sleater - he laid waste to his demonic mentor, bringing about the probable end of his career in an attempt to endear himself to management and catapult his own star in the making. The test comes now, as he faces the returning Bison, for both men to capitalize on their actions in the only place it truly counts - in a WFWF ring!
Don’t Get Syked Out!
---------------------------------------------------
Jayson Sykes vs. ”The Cleaner” Billy Broom
For the first time since stepping into the spotlight, the WFWF’s resident dually-hatted janitor-turned-professional wrestler picked up a sound victory at Back to Basics over the daughter of one Samael Ahriman - a huge turn of triumph in its own right. Ambition will no doubt drive him to repeat the feat as he makes his way into Charlotte, but he’ll have just as tall an order as his last go ‘round waiting for him in the Queen City - newcomer Jayson Sykes. We’ve already learned a bit about the new charge’s past, and his association with a former WFWF National Champion will undoubtedly see him looking to squelch any momentum “The Cleaner” might be carrying to the ring with him in short order in an effort to begin building a legacy of his own.
New Day Rising!
---------------------------------------------------
Lazer vs. Hamilton K. Clarke
If there’s a match down the card that you can bet the farm everyone out back, from the top on down, is going to be watching, this is the one! New names and faces are always an unknown quantity in the WFWF - will this be the starting point for an eventual champion to be crowned sometime far down the line? Which man will walk out of Charlotte with the first grab at upward momentum firmly in hand? It’s a rare occurrence for two men to enter a WFWF ring without the scales, however imaginary, being tipped to one side or the other. This one is truly anyone’s game!
