I took advantage of the PSN digital holiday sale and got the deluxe edition of Spiderman and a collection of all three Arkham games with all the extras for $73.58. Not bad for the definitive versions of four ultra-popular games. Now, since I missed the Arkham series like an idiot and started with the VR game, should I play the other three in descending order? And with my PSN store credit I only paid $43!

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider [Croft Edition] - $44.99 on PSN. Almost forgot it was on sale. Had about 20 minutes left to get it when I remembered. For 50% off, too good to skip.

Bought RE2 Friday but haven’t played it yet. The wife likes to watch me play it and she’s out of town so I gotta wait.

The original RE2 (N64) is a top 10 all time favorite game for me and this lives up to every second as a remake. If you grew up loving RE 1-3, this is a love letter to you. The engine, the inventory management, the sound effects, it captures all of the magic of the original and takes a full step forward. I hope you and your wife enjoy it as much as I have so far.

Started playing when she got back in town but then she had to leave again. Set up a live stream this past Sunday night through Mixer on Xbox One and she watched while we chatted over the phone. Got to the part where you take the train car to the lower level and stopped. I’m really liking it. Love the updated controls. Attempted the remake HD version of RE1 a little while ago and the tank controls do not hold up and very frustrating. I quit very early on.

I’m really liking it. Love the updated controls. Attempted the remake HD version of RE1 a little while ago and the tank controls do not hold up and very frustrating. I quit very early on. Yep, the RE Engine takes such a giant leap forward that revisiting the old games feels like running through mud. The Tyrant showing up out of nowhere and those damn footsteps haunting you make the original Tyrant not very scary in comparison to the original RE2. Most of the zombies are coming in one direction down hallways headed straight at you in the originals, and this feels far more claustrophobic even though you have a way bigger range of motion. You'll see in the NEST that the lickers are fairly ai intelligent if you don't jump all over them. You can actually sneak past them in scenario B in the police station, which is such a cool dynamic but heart racing. It just takes everything to the next level and once you've seen that range of playability you want everything to be that way. I'm REALLY hoping they remake Nemesis next. Although, if they just do a new story with RE8 and use the RE Engine, that would be awesome too. I'm totally onboard with getting 0, 1, 3 and CV now though using these controls and I'll spend the $60 every time. Assuming they're all made with this level of care, I'm fine with getting remakes over new installments right now with this franchise. Did you start with Leon or Claire? I was pretty shook encountering the G's in the sewer the first time through. I tried to sneak past them on the way to the blow torch and then they popped out of the water and I panic fired on them. I handled them much differently through scenario B since I knew how they moved. The first of the three free DLCs comes out Friday. So I'm looking forward to playing through that soon.

Started with Leon and will do Claire once his story is complete. It’s been so long since I played the original everything feels so new to me. I think the last time I played it was on Dreamcast. I am not sure what I’m wanting more RE8 or remakes of 0-Veronica. I’ll be happy with either.
