Hey all. Just so it's out there, I was the peckerwood holding up the results this go around.
I'm not sure I've b*tched about this one here, but at work, I've been single-handedly running my side of the accounting equation for the past four months while my colleague sits at home awaiting a surgery yet to be scheduled. As you can guess, that's got me coming in early, leaving late, and working through a lot of my break time in order to make sure nothing falls behind because I take a lot of pride in my work.
Many of you also know that I have a two and a half year old at home, leaving very little (read: no) time between the second I walk in the door and the second I need to switch over to dad mode for the evening. Tack onto that the fact that I have a two hour round trip commute daily, an hour between the time I get home and my son goes to bed to get him fed, cleaned up, and treated to a little quality time, and a self serving need to be hitting the gym and/or a cardio blast a minimum of five times a week, and you can see where a lot of my free time gets eaten up.
I ain't quitting - there's folks out on leave right now who've got deals 1,000x more raw than my own, and we aren't exactly hopping at the moment. I just wanted to put a fair heads up out there as to why I may not step up for a match every show, and why I sometimes hold sh*t up like this. Ain't my intent, but it's a couple of full time jobs trying to hold down a full time job on top of keeping everyone else happy.
The good news? The match is in, I don't hate it, and I'm sorting out a couple of ideas for the next show.

I completely feel the busyness. I work 40 hours a week in an office and have been doing freelance editing, usually pumping out 1-2 shows a week. In addition to IWA Mid South, I'm currently negotiating with another independent client, that'll essentially double my editing workload. I have about an hour commute one way. Luckily, my job does allow for a bit of a fragmented work schedule, with sometimes as much as ten minutes between actual work needing done, which has been a great outlet to get roleplaying done, since I can't access my editing tools from work. if I could, I'd probably be working on both jobs at the same time.
it was certainly simpler when I was working physical labor when I was younger to roleplay than now, though.
