Pro wrestling is not supposed to be taken seriously anyhow.
Look back to the 80s and 90s and the stuff we saw and loved. Jake Roberts trapping the Warrior in a room with cobras, or Undertaker locking Warrior in a coffin, that kind of stuff was hokey as all hell, but we remember it fondly still to this day.
So whatever Broken Matt and Brother Nero do, its all gold. People are talking about TNA, thus will tune in, and maybe end up being a fan of some other guys, or start enjoying the product again.

I've never cared much for the Hardys nor have I been able to get into TNA that much in the past few years, but Broken Matt has been one of my favorite parts of 2016 so far.

Exactly, we're talking about the business where The Undertaker has been buried alive, burned alive and seemingly killed numerous times over the last 25 years... and has always returned unscathed.... yet we never question it. Wrestling fans sure can pick and choose what they suspend their disbelief on and what they take seriously.

Turns out Broken Matt Hardy isn't as creative as we thought. I just recently found out he copied this gimmick from an anime character.

I find the Hardys to be some of the best stuff on TNA right now. The product as a whole has been making a slow and steady turnaround in recent months, and Matt and Nero have been a great part of that.
