So we have our cover athlete with no fan vote, but I imagine Gronk or AB woulda been runaway winners anyways.
Can't wait to see them absolutely slaughter the catching mechanics again this year. Or is this the year they mess with the defense again? Can't remember Madden's schedule. Either way, discuss the early developments in the latest installment of everyone's favorite yearly $60 roster upgrade.

Yes I get the roster update...err I mean Madden every year on release day. But honestly I don't play online or with anyone else so the game is fine for me.

I've got one buddy who gets it every year too and we'll occasionally do online games but what we love to do is start a league, and do one of two things. One, pick two garbage teams and see who can get them to the playoffs the fastest through trades, signings and simulations. Or two, pick two teams in the same division, fantasy draft our teams and simulate all games except the two (sometimes three if we both make the playoffs) where our teams would face off. It's a good way to kill a boring night when we're both off of work. |

Just listened to the soundtrack and besides Blake Shelton's song I didn't like a single track on it. And even that wasn't that memorable. I wish they still played the old NFL films music look the Raiders "The Autumn Wind" or the trumpets.

Ok the Antifreeze trophy seems impossible. I have kicked two 60+ yarders in this game and haven't missed a kick until I try for this trophy. Six times they have called timeout to ice me and each time I tried it if I didn't know any better I would say the only players on my team for the kick are the center, holder and kicker because everytime they have blocked it with at least five players converging on my holder. I have done the same thing on these that I have had on every other kick yet it seems like they are in the backfield before the holder puts the ball down everytime.

WtF! I just threw 4 interceptions and had a fumble taken back 97 yards in a 38-35 win vs Denver. I am at week 8 and my Offense and Defense were both ranked 1st going into the game and theirs was 25th and 30th yet they kicked the crap out of me in the first half. Three or my four interceptions and the fumble return were all in the first half. I also lost my starting halfback on his first carry (9 weeks) and my number two tightend (3 weeks) in this game. At least I recorded 2 1/2 sacks with Mack bringing his league leading total to 14.5 and Carr threw 5 TD passes (3 to Crabtree, 2 to Cooper and 1 to Walford) to go with the 4 int's.
And I found a glitch in the stats. In the past two games my punter has had an 87 yds punt and a 79yds punt, but in his stats it says his long is only 67 yds. But the big glitch in Janikowski's stats for some reason they had my punter kicking off and I didn't figure out how to correct it until week 5 or 6 but when I did all his FG's and PAA's reset to zero.

I just got the Antifreeze trophy. Took around 9 tries before I got a field goal attempt off without it being blocked.

Another stats glitch that has not been addressed in the last 6 years. If you play as the Raiders your defensive players stats don't show up for the NFL league stats. Mack has 23.5 total sacks so far.  Yet it doesn't show it under the league leader stats. There is not a single Raider listed on the league defensive stats.  And a question which position do you use when playing on defense? Since my first football game back in the 90's I always play as the left Defensive End. (While Mack is listed as a LOLB I play him as my LE.) And on offense almost every passing play my first look after my number one receiver is always my TE's. |

And injuries in the second half of the season wasn't very kind to me. now as I go into the Playoffs I am down 2 QB's, 2 HB's and my starting TE.
Carr has broken ribs since week 14. (Has 2 weeks to go before his injury is over)
Cook my Rookie backup QB received a dislocated elbow in week 17. (Says 6 weeks)
Murray my starting HB has been out since the end of week 9 with a fractured foot. (He should be back in another week)
Jones my backup HB has been out since week 13 with a broken arm (out until after the Playoffs)
Walford my starting TE should be back in time for the SB.

Just Franchise for me. I only play the MUT for online trophies once those are completed I stay away from online play. I have to say the "good on Paper" trophy is impossible this year. I don't know how many drafts I have completed, but I know I have hit an 82 rating maybe 5 times. Most are in the 80-81 range. But the one I just completed was pure crap! After he first round where I picked SS Malloy with a 91 rating the next 6 rounds nobody had a rating higher than 77 and most were DT or LE. And then the following rounds all had TE or the same positions as players I already drafted. My team's rating was a 78. WTF!
The only trophies I still need that aren't Legacy ones that will pop as I continue in my franchise mode are "Good on Paper" and the Gauntlet one where you have to reach level 25.
