Personally, I've always been an out of package collector as it pertains to action figure collecting, the only time I ever left figures in their packaging was when I was heavy into Star Wars figure collecting back in the early to mid 2000's. But eventually I opened those up for display and am glad I did. So, my question to all you WWE figure collectors here is are you guys in box collectors or do you open your treasures and display them? Also, how are you displaying them or storing them?

To me, the packaging is part of the art. I collect MOC.

Both. I have 21 figs MOC that hang on my wall, surrounding the living room of my apartment. The lady that lived here before me put little nails in the wall to hang lights around, so I started hanging my "Prize" figs. The other 114 figs are loose, standing on a 4-level shelf with all their accompanying accessories, with a few exceptions. LoD has Yokos tag titles, WM 28 CM Punk has a VAC Spinner belt, stuff like that.

Loose for me. I like to physically hold the figure in my hand.

I keep them closed, but I try to be not that picky with the condition of package.

I keep them closed, but I try to be not that picky with the condition of package. Whaaaa? Dude that's like getting a Double Whopper with fries and a DIET coke. If you're going to do something, do it all the way. Either avoid bad food altogether or make that bitch count. In your case, I would make sure that package is pristine if I'm going to collect MOC. Whatever though. Different strokes for different folks.

opener here. packaging takes up too much space and i hate the fact mattel changes the packaging every year. cant stand the fact that ax and smash are in different packaging than crush. same can be said about dx.
so, i open all figures to display loose.

If there was a consistent flow of packaging than maybe I'd consider keeping them MOC but the constant change up of the cards and packaging would make a wall of these gems look like crap. Take the "legends" packaging for instance. I really liked how the WWE Legends packaging looked and felt Mattel was on to something and even though I wasn't collecting at that time I always thought to myself that as long as they keep pumping out my childhood favorites in this kind of packaging than I'd go back and grab them when time allowed. And then they stopped the line as a whole and moved the legends into a mix of basic carded figures and the "flashback" series, which is a sub series within the elite line. And that's another issues in my opinion...
Mattel not only has their core lines of basic and elites but they also have sub sets of heritage, legends, flashbacks, WM, defining moments, and others that can be downright confusing and ruin the flow of a MOC collector. I would be mad that certain wrestlers have WM figures and others don't and that some legends are in the legends packaging and others are in basic or flashback packaging. I'd be scratching my head and bugging out when certain figures get released in one sub-set and not another, so I find it easier to buy figures of the wrestlers I like and display them out of box and in poses on shelves.

I still don't understand who buys this stuff just to look at. That's just pointless. They're toys. Play with them! Relive that classic Eddie vs Warrior cage match! Or fantasy book Hulk Hogan vs Stone Cold. Or give CM Punk his Mania main event. The WWE wrestling world is your oyster! For just $10.99-25.99 a fig!

Honestly, at 35 I'd feel pretty odd actually playing with toys and making sound effects and stuff like that. Plus I'd be afraid to scratch the paint or break them. I do however rearrange my shelves, place the figures in "scenes" for special occasions, and switch around the championship belts from time to time. The last time I actually played with a figure was probably with the Hasbro WWF line of toys from the early 90's when I was 11 or 12.
