They absolutely turned down or turned off the house mics, without question. They did it as soon as Roman's music hit. There's actually a video where you can hear the crowd fading out in a completely unnatural manner. When he won, they filled the place with pyro and turned his music way up. That's been corroborated by many people in the building. There are also many who believe they piped in cheers when he hit the spear and won. That cannot be confirmed, but it sounded very much like the Smackdown vacuum cleaner noise to me. Ehh, the him winning part I believe they piped in the noise and at his entrance but fans usually pop at finishers, even from guys they hate. So I can't really say anything about that. I just went back and watched the closing sequence, and both the spear and the win sounded very audibly different than anything else the entire night. I was initially under the impression, too, that they only piped in post win, but I think they hit play as soon as it he hit the spear and just sustained it. It's the same vacuum cleaner noise they use on Smackdown, and you can still hear the underbelly of boos beneath it. I mean, in the end, it doesn't matter I guess. We know, undoubtedly, that they heavily tampered with their audience's natural reaction by attempting to silence them, and that's damning enough.

Owens to regain the IC Title, or Zayn to win it in a triple threat.. Ryback to win the US Title, Brock Lesnar begins a new program - perhaps with Rock? Or a set up for a 2nd Brock/Ambrose.. Kurt Angle return..? Any of these would suit me

Why does it matter if they touch the volume or not.? Does it sway the way you feel or react? It's laughable how people don't like Roman enough to even play back the volume in his matches now ... Haha There has to be better things to do

I'm just hoping Zack retains.
I hate when people have 1 day reigns.

Haha There has to be better things to do I get that your gimmick is to come and laugh at everyone who hates the show, because it somehow makes you feel better and whatnot, that's cool. But in answer to your question, it matters because WWE has a corporate facade of calling their fans their "focus groups" and claiming to always "listen to what the audience wants." It's one thing to blatantly ignore that, it's another to actively suppress it using audio tricks because their egos are too large to admit they failed miserably. I was all for Roman winning the title last night so that this story could finally be over and done with, but the example they set last night lends itself to fan apathy, and there is literally nothing worse in professional wrestling.

I'm just hoping Zack retains. I hate when people have 1 day reigns. It works for Zack though. It's logical that the jobber can steal the win in a 7 man ladder match when all the top guys have been taken out. But when it comes to 1-on-1 matches, he's screwed. His win was all about the cool shocking moment. I doubt anyone cares for a reign to follow it.

So rewatching on the network, Ambrose vs Lesnar was 13 minutes.. What a joke. Unless there is a reason behind it. If WWE was smart there would be a rematch at Payback in an I quit match. It would make sense because Ambrose may have gotten pinned but it doesn't mean he was finished which could be his reason. Not pins or submissions would allow Ambrose to get beat down and keep getting back up like his segments with Lesnar have been. It would be interesting because I can't see either of them saying I quit.

Reigns/Cena feud who would the fans cheer for more? I mean both men are hated but who would the fans get behind more? Cena isn't hated the way Roman is. People just get tired of seeing Cena in the WWE Title picture and it's fun to sing his song as "John Cena sucks" Reigns is hated because he's being shoved down our throats and simply is average in the ring (Even against guys like Orton/Triple H/Ambrose) when Cena can get a good match out of almost anyone and Reigns is trash on the mic. Cena would be cheered more than he was in 2005 if he feuded with him

If WWE was going to move Payback to the PPV after Wrestlemania, they might as well have renamed it Backlash. It's basically the same thing. Payback for Mania, facing the Backlash from Mania. C'mon WWE.

Seeing a lot of comments about how Reigns is an amazing wrestler on Youtube lol. It always makes me laugh. Anyone who says Reigns is an amazing/great wrestler are probably the same people who go "Eh he's okay" when they hear names like Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, AJ Styles, three of the best actual wrestlers to step foot in a WWE ring
