This month the local PPW Wrestling promotion brought in Diamond Dallas Page. Have to say it was one of the best experiences I've ever had meeting a wrestler! He talked with everyone, was gracious, and courteous. When I mentioned to him I used to hate his guts in the early 90's he laughed and thanked me - said that meant he was doing his job right! I was telling him how I learned to like him because he won me over when I saw over time he was a good wrestler, and that i liked him in 1996, before it was "cool" to do so in 1997 when he stood up to the nWo. He stood up and I wasn't sure what that meant, but then he proceeded to talk to me almost 5 minutes about how different his character was from the beginning of 96 compared to the end of the year, how he really got over once he started being less a cartoon character and more what he was like in real life, and how wild and crazy things were fro the wrestlers back then when everything got so hot. I was floored he spent so much time talking to me, especially when there was a line ! But a total class act, and a complete 180 from Mick Foley, who wouldn't talk to anyone. also got my WHC Replica Belt signed: And picked these up tonight as part of m Black Friday excursions: Not on sale, but just finally decided to grab it, even though I already have the SDCC one. Will likely leave it in package to go with my Taker display: And grabbed this at K-Mart for the super-duper low price of $7.50!! Was on sale for $20, and was also banished to the clearance aisle for 50% off. Then because it was damaged packaging got an additional discount as well!!

yea same when i met ddp he was amazing! I talked to him for a good 5 mins with a line too. Hogan was probaby the best for me. He gave me a good amount of time too and signed extra on my belt.
Worst guys I ever met Mick Foley who didnt realy give a crap, Angelina Love who thought she was special (i only got an autograph cuz it was free) and the worst was Bubba Ray I paid $40 to take a pic with him and Devon and Bubba didnt say thank you or even look at me.

I met DDP during the fan experience for WM29. He spent around 5 minutes talking to me as well. I told him how my first exposure to him was in the WWE and that my first PPV i went to was when he "debuted", which was KOTR. He talked to me about how he felt about the Sara storyline and what it was like working with Taker and whatnot. It was very cool. Best was he took a picture with me giving me the Diamond Cutter. DDP is a fantastic person and very passionate about his fans and the buisness.

Excellent - I'm considering going to PPW in December - they're advertising EC3 VS. "The Product" David Starr, which is like a dream match between two of my favorite "indy" wrestlers.....
I'm glad that you had a good experience at PPW, I've never been there before! It's a bit of a drive for me, & I'm hoping it's worth it!
DDP is always a class act at meet & greets, glad you had such a great experience!

DDP is probably one of my absolute favorite guys ever, in the business. I took my brother to an event last month and he spent about 5 minutes just talking to us. He had his belt with him and he even did this pic with us, for free :

I met ddp here in june. even my gf said he's the nicest guy we've met yet. That's more than a few times ive heard foley is a real prick to meet. Also, I got that big hogan at kmart last month but didn't realize that things in the clearance isle were half off or I would've mentioned it to the cashier.

I was also at the PPW event and DDP was incredible to my son. Put him in the diamond cutter, talked to him for about 5 minutes about his matches. I agree, he was completely different than Foley, who wouldn't even engage my 6 year old when he tried to talk to him.
Nash was completely not interested when my son came up for an autograph at PPW in October. He was talking to the photographer the whole time instead of really focusing on my son, which was a shame because my son loves the nWo.
DDP restored my faith though. Great, great guy.

My friend is in the Exerguys so he eats up all the attention he gets from them. It's a good time, with some really talented wrestlers. Dreamer is also facing Afa.

So happy to see them win the Tag Belts last month!!! Was mad cause I wanted to pick up a shirt last weekend, but they had none. The only real complaint I have about PPW is the sound system. Sometimes you really can't hear what they're saying on the mic, though I admit this past one was a lot better that they turned the volume down a little bit.

Positively Page!
I've gained so much respect for DDP over the decades I've been watching him, ever since he was a valet/manager for the Freebirds in the early 90s. What a class act, WWE is doing a huge diservice not memoralizing him in their HOF yet.

My buddy is M3. I think they are going to be there on the 19th. They are starting to do some other bigger promotions down south so I hope they stick with PPW a while longer. I'll make sure to tell him to have shirts there on the 19th. I agree about the sound system. You can never understand what they are saying.
