Did they ever Japanese figures in the fully playable style of American figs? Most I've seen are either statues or have very limited movement?

Closest thing you're gonna get to playable is the GI Joe style NJPW figs. Only made three of em I think (though I think I remember seeing a Chono and some PRIDE ones like this)  |

Only made three of em I think (though I think I remember seeing a Chono and some PRIDE ones like this) There were definitely more than 3; Antonio Inoki Riki Chosyu Masahiro Chono Keiji Mutoh The Great Muta Tiger Mask Jyushin "Thunder" Lyger Akira Maeda Masakatsu Funaki Minoru Suzuki Kazushi Sakuraba I know for sure that Inoki and Chono had variants. Mine:   Jyushin "Thunder" Lyger and Masahiro Chono (without sunglasses) The 12-inch figs by Inspire also have multiple points of articulation. |

Finding out there's a Liger and Muta like that out there made this thread worth it. |

Awesome. Didn't know how many there were. Wish they were easier to find, never even seen a pic of the Minoru Suzuki one. You're right; I meant Nobuhiko Takada. |
