I found a thread via google search and noticed it was merged as a joke into an action figure one.
Precurser: I haven't watched wrestling more than like once a month or less in years (probably goes back to around 06/07), but felt to offer my 2 cents.
I've given it a watch recently because of Sting but this revolution stuck out like a sore thumb so checked out to see what people were saying online. Also, I tuned in last week and agree with many, it's just downright awkward across the board.
So, I decided to find some youtube women's wwe videos and I've tuned in tonight to check things out so far. ALL of the women wrestlers now attack and engage completely flatfooted. I don't know who they're trained by but damn, it's just not good. I can actually notice they're trained movesets and have some flashes here and there but all of these wrestlers just don't present that encroaching, athletic, moving-around-the-second-their-toes-touch-the-mat style that many in the past were like.
Just compare. If they go in for a grab, they slowly stop, land their feet in full, then pick the opponent up. On the mat, it's just a mess with all of them. Performing in the ring is a dance and they simply don't do it. It's utter chaos with a few moves that take very long and awkward to set-up.
The one's with these badly scripted "edgy" personalities actually come across as bipolar. Was that what they were going for in that interview last week? Honestly. It's just the bad kind of awkward. So I hope this isn't redundant here and mean it to be about the manner in which they are trained because they all have this issue. The ones who are bad on the mic then just sink the atmosphere and it's just dull nothingness on the screen.
