This has been rumored every few months for YEARS and Liev's representatives always shoot it down. And let's be honest.....this is not a movie that needs to be made anyway. It was a horrible tragedy. Let's just leave it alone. Definitely agree. A true tragedy that shouldn't be represented in fictional form, perhaps maybe on a documentary, real life type of "made for TV movie" channel but not on the big screen. That's seriously limiting the topics that people can make films about, should we have no movies about the Holocaust? No movies about war? No movies about death generally? Seems a bit silly to rule something out on that basis to me, there are some superb movies about tragic events. In some respects I can see why you'd want to make a movie about the Benoit weekend, it's certainly provocative. But there's so much we don't know about what happened or why it happened that I really can't see how a movie about it would work. If we find out more about what caused Benoit's actions (I doubt we will), so that they can actually tell a wider audience exactly what happened, why Nancy and Daniel died and how tragedies like this can be prevented by a change in approach from the WWE/steroid companies/a better attitude to mental health, then I could see it working. At the moment I'd have thought that there's just too much we don't know about it.

Three of those are Oscar winners for Best Picture. People love watching dramatic reenactments of tragedies.

It's such a stupid concept.
They are really going to have a movie about Benoit's career, and his death? The career part will be a trainwreck. It will end up being the most inacurate thing ever. Then there's his final weekend which can only go on so long in movie form.

I just can't see it being made. I really can't. Not good for the wrestling business or any of the family involved.

A documentary I could understand, but this just doesn't feel right to me. The man's life was dramatic enough, we don't need to see it fictionalised and trivialised.

With most, if not all the movies mentioned, there's historical value. With Benoit, it's one family tragedy. In no way downplaying it-it was horrible but to be made, it would probably be by someone who either really likes wrestling or really hates wrestling, not so much someone who wants to play it out on screen for historical value. Smaller scale, so to speak, murders are generally portrayed on TV, not movie theater movies.

This movie needs to made for the non wrestling fans who don't understand the pro wrestling life and what pro wrestlers go through. At least then people will have an understanding of how tough and dangerous wrestling really is instead of disrespecting the sport all together by calling it FAKE.

In the alternate ending to the alternate ending the guy snatches the necklace then clotheslines the old woman over the rail into the ocean. I wish!! But actually in the process, the guy misses the clothesline, the old woman tosses him over, she grabs the necklace and before tossing it in, she proclaims: "Austin! You want your NECKLACE, then take it the hell with you!"

But who is going to play Kevin Sullivan? Dave Sullivan. Excuse me, Evad Sullivan.
