Well, I wont spoil the ending for any of you wanting to watch it. Does the ship sink? The old lady threw that jewel into the ocean...

The whole Benoit thing left a nasty taste in my mouth and I'd rather forget about the whole thing and just remember what he did in the ring. If they do make it in to a movie how can the writers let you connect with character of Benoit when he commits such a monstrous act. They will end up turning the story of his life into some sick thriller.

If you want to make a monster movie... stick to Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon, or Frankenstein. They all have more redeeming qualities.

This seems very out of the blue. I remember hearing about this not too long after the incident happened about the movie being made. I even recall there was supposed to be an Owen Hart tv movie for FX, but those plans fell through.

So that's why my custom trailer got a metric ton of views in the past 2 days.

I don't think they'd necessarily have to show the tragedy at the end, like what they did with American Sniper and just have subtitles or whatever describe what happened next. It could end with whatever they choose and then have a part at the end where it talks about what happened to them. Or they could just not acknowledge that all together and have it be a movie about Chris Benoit and his time wrestling. Chris Benoit's legacy is about 0.1% wrestling and 99.9% double murder-suicide. The audience for a movie about Chris Benoit wrestling is miniscule -- it's literally the "put him in hall of fame vince what he did wasnt even that bad" idiot Youtube commenters... And even they can just watch his actual wrestling on the WWE network rather than an actor badly imitating it. If someone's making a Chris Benoit movie, it's not a movie for the strangest niche of wrestling fans. It's a movie for people who like grizzly movies based on real-life murders. To me, I can't imagine it being anything other than a bad Made-for-TV movie, but I don't think it'll happen either way.

We have been hearing this news for so long now, it's come to the point where I believe it when I see it.

If the film was actually made with some kind of love and understanding of wrestling with some artistic skill, it could be a fine film... I don't know anything about the screenwriter, but I dont believe that the film could be made from any position other than "wrestling is dumb, risky and evil" in a Lifetime TV original level quality.
Honestly, even in a best case scenario, I don't desire the film being made.

Don't care to see this.
And if we're being honest here.. It's a Lifetime movie at best.

The ironic thing is Liev Schreiber is 6'4, and one of Benoit's biggest detractions in the business was his short height.
