Was it just because of distribution ease or something? Or was it when they got to the 93' run and they figured they didn't really have any teams to put out that year, so it just sorta stopped after that?
I always loved the way they looked and would have loved to have seen Steiners, Headshrinkers, Gunns, Money Inc. etc in the 2 packs. And of course would have been great if Hart Foundation and Rythym and Blues had come out at tag teams instead of singles.

Agreed. I would have liked to have seen the team mentioned in tag packs instead of single packs - never understood that. Your not gonna buy one of the team and not the other, well I wouldn't anyway. I've made customs of the teams of that era that weren't made ie Power and Glory, Powers of Pain, even the Bolsheviks,. Wish they had released them as well!

I would have preferred team packs as well if that lead to other wrestlers in the single packs.

I'm guessing they didn't sell as well as hoped. The Rockers and Bushehackers hung around for a LONG time.

Yeah this is a really good question. It's kind of funny how the first release of the Bushwhackers was a team pack but their 2nd release was in a singles form. I kind of wonder if it wasn't something related to printing/packaging being more difficult OR if its what yall are saying about the plague of the shelf warmers. The Rockers were in my opinion one of the most boring figures made, their body style is kind of lame.

I think customers didn't want to pay the price of two figures. Especially if giving as a gift.

I could never find Demolition either, wonder why they were so scarce and the Bushwackers and Rockers so abundant. And perhaps the shelfwarming Rockers and Bushwackers were why stores never reordered the new tag team cases.

by the time the Headshrinkers, Steiners, and especially Smoking Gunns came around, Hasbro was in bad shape with the WWF. Hard time getting distribution, soured relationship, etc. I had trouble finding any of the colored serieses, especially later colored. I couldn't imagine the scarcity of a red card tag team or much less a green card tag team.

That would have been my guess, in most cases the prices were such that you didn't even save $1 or so on the 2-pack. For parents trying to keep their kids happy while on a shopping trip, I'd expect that's a big deal. Demolition and LOD were available in my area a lot (never saw Nasty Boys), but the Rockers & Bushwhackers never went away. They were probably highly overproduced and the stores got stuck with them for years.
