That Christian/Del Rio ladder match was great. Can't remember too much, so Christian finally winning a big title probably plays heavy into that.
Anyway, it's been a huge bummer to see his career play out like this. The fact that WWE did nothing with him post-Orton is a massive disappointment. If there's any validity to the rumor that Vince always held him back because of his looks (which fits into his reputation well), that really pi**es me off. It'd be one thing to hold it over his head that he defected to TNA, but even then it was WWE's fault because they refused to push him.
Despite the injuries, Christian should have had a great send-off run.

Christian has NEVER gotten his just due in WWE. They wasted his incredible talent. They could have done so much more with him. I think he was better off in TNA

Has it ever been established yet as to whether or not Christian is done? I know Paul Heyman and King both want him retired but I don't know how official that was. He's cleared to compete, but the WWE doesn't want him to wrestle, because of the fact that he suffered a concussion, last time he wrestled. Kinda like Daniel Bryan's current situation. This. The horrible booking of Christian in 2011, is one of the reasons why I stopped having a "wait and see" mentality with WWE, because 9 times out of 10, you're just going to be disappointed.

I think he was better off in TNA Though I enjoyed Christian's time in TNA, I always felt WWE was his home. I missed seeing him on RAW & SD, and I was thrilled when he returned. It made everything right in the universe.

My first tears at the result of a wrestling match came when Christian climbed that ladder and grabbed the big gold belt. It was incredible Then they completely $hat on the entire thing. And ed Christian. Hard.

This was the whole reason I stopped watching SmackDown. Christian's career has felt cheap ever since then. He was able to hold his own in the main event scene, you only have to watch his TNA run to see that.

It was his own fault for kinda sucking when he came back from TNA. He looked good in 2005, I was completely on board, but realistically he was never going to catch on outside the niche fanbase. He's good as a bratty heel, he's okay as a bland babyface, but he doesn't elevate anything he's involved with.

Unpopular opinion: Christian got exactly as much as he deserved in the WWE (and TNA) and his title reign was handled just fine. If every babyface underdog got the Daniel Bryan treatment it would lose its charm. Christian was the perfect guy to be the one to fall short in his story. He was talented and popular enough to work as the champion but not popular or talented enough to have a meaningful reign. Giving him his moment and having him fall short right afterwords brought unpredictability back to the overplayed story. Plus he was always a better heel anyway.
Think about the sleeper hold, there's no suspense from it anymore because no one ever wins with it. If someone did every now and then there would be. Not every underdog can overcome the odds. Sometimes a fallen hero makes a better story than a successful one.

Daniel Bryan the hottest thing in the company got his whooped for all of 2013. He was then injured by Sheamus. Hahhaa if you don't belong you don't belong

Christian should have been a judge on Tough Enough. They shouldve had him take Hogan's spot.

I'd say I hate to be that guy... But really I couldn't care any less so I'll say it. Christian should've NEVER been a World Champion. The only reason why he was was the soften the blow of Edge having to retire, much like Rey Rey's World Title win was directly tied to the loss of Eddie Guerrero.
Vince knew Christian didn't belong there which is why he dogged him out.

I feel sorry for Christian. He shouldn't of been compared to Edge, and it's WWE fault he was. He was great and should of stayed his own character. I love Christian and believe his reign would be great if he wasn't made to be something he wasn't.
I noticed that on WWE 2K15 also.

Now, I don't have anything against Christian but he was never main event material. He was a decent little mid carder at best.

Watching Christian's journey in the summer of 2011 was so incredibly frustrating, but also bittersweet. He was going out there night after night with Randy Orton and absolutely tearing the house down, but they just couldn't get it right with him. He looked terrible throughout that entire feud, except when he was in the ring. I firmly believe he's Orton's greatest opponent.

It's was a complete and utter shame how they booked him. Christian deserved to win a world title on his own yet him winning the title was more of a favor to Edge. He then went through what is nothing less than character sabotage with the way they portrayed him for the rest of the year.
People complain that Seth looks weak but fact is he looks like Hogan compared to how Christian was booked.

I always felt Christian was better than Edge. His TNA runs really proves how great he actually was and played off a great heel when he feud with Rhino. Damn shame WWE never liked Christian.
