To me the company being PG is not an issue at all. It is the poor writing, repeated matches and for me the main one is complete lack of any personality in about 75 percent of the roster that is the problem with the current product. A good story is a good story regardless of what age rating it is. You could have hookers, gangsters and buckets of blood, but if the writing and the characters are not there then it is still going to be boring. Agree. The people that are Pro PG that act all high and mighty are just as bad as the Anti PG fan's. /thread Just because someone dislikes the current product doesn't mean that they need blood and profanity to enjoy wrestling.

Its less to do with blood an swearing and more to do with more mature storylines, taking things more seriously
A lot of it feels cookiecutter today
They dont even really need to change the rating, just get better writers...
NXT has proven that

I'll admit I don't like PG era... However you don't need swearing, racist remarks or disgustingly sexist lingerie fulfil your fantasy pillow fight thong catfight bra and panties stinkface matches to have a good show. I do think it's really boring and annoying that Cena wins 24/7 and blah blah blah I do prefer 2000-2007 era's but there's nothing that bad with the PG era... People need to learn it has been taken over by a much younger fanbase They need to understand no more blood spots in matches They need to understand no more divas calling each other Skanks, Sluts, Bitches and whatever else They need to understand WWE doesn't want to be known to be racist They need to understand that there's no more bra and panty matches with Torrie Wilson & Stacy Keibler and most of all they need to understand CENA WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't really mind PG BUT HIAC, Elimination Chamber, Cage matches, Street fights etc etc etc should have blood. It irritates me that people used to get split open left and right in HIAC and EC but now the exact same moves don't do anything.

When WCW was at its absolute peak it rarely went over PG. PG isn't the issue at all. Dreadful writing and a roster full of midcarders with not many huge stars is the issue.

Sure, some Anti-PG fans miss "the blood" but I think in general that is a myth. That not the main reason wrestling fans don't like the PG era. Its the constraints put on the product and the overly family friendly nature of the show, which drives a lot of people away. The in ring action is the best its ever been in WWE history, but the constraints put on the programming are clearly felt.
Daniel Bryan got fired for choking out someone on Raw cause it looked too violent. Hornswoggle was a character for years cause kids loved him, started running through walls on Raw. JBL is Poopy. WWE bans saying words like backbreaker or doing moves like the curb stomp, not because they are dangerous, but because they sound violent. Midget Court starring Shawn and HHH. etc.etc.
Ive stated before regarding WWE PG, they went the complete opposite of the rest of TV. Most programming has shifted towards TV-14 and TV-MA because of the freedoms it allows its creators and writers in crafting a story. WWE has done the opposite, and has constrained itself in what it can present in its content and what its writers can do.

People treat this era like garbage, but we get quality wrestling most of the time. The Attitude Era had some weird and crappy things too, but people seem to overlook that. They magnify the bad things about today, but what about the garbage gimmicks, etc. of yesterday?

Not blood for the sake of blood, but blood that helps sell the brutality, sell the story, sell the match.. Blood is amazing when it's placed in the right situation. PG would have never been a problem if the writing team was better at their jobs.. I've never seen such a lucrative company fumble the writing process as hard as the WWE. Their jobs can't be that difficult.. Anyone with a true creative bone should be able to flesh out 6-8 feuds and story lines over a 9 month period.. But the WWE has constantly failed to consistently entertain.. It's baffling.

The reason why I personally like blood in the matches is because it makes it look more Real to me.Like how cena nose broke on Raw it look like injuries can happen anytime and made the match look more like an actual real fight.

I've often said, I don't watch wrestling for sexual situations, disgusting humor, or overly violent acts. When I was 18, sure, I loved it. But as an adult with a child of his own, I appreciate the fact I can take my family to go see a WWE show and not have to worry about what they see.
I watch WWE because I just want to be entertained by a good solid wrestling match. And I think WWE's overall in ring product lately is fantastic. I do agree the writing needs to have more depth to it at times. But besides that, I'm pleased with the current product.
Let's look at the NFL in comparison... I can sit down and enjoy a NFL game and I don't hear swearing, overly sexual acts, or inappropriate jokes. People complain the hits are not as violent as they used to be, but the overall league is more popular than ever. So they will continue to be that way because it is working for them. WWE is making more money than ever. So as much as it pains people to hear this, what they are doing, is working. And I doubt it's gonna change any time soon.

PG has nothing to do with why WWE is so bad at times. It's the lack of good storylines. Maybe in the past WWE writers had used vulgarity and extreme violence as a crutch to cover up for mediocre storylines, but it's clear that illogical storylines, angles being rushed, and an overall lack of knowing where anything is going is what is hurting the product.
The WRESTLING is as good as it's ever been. Nobody can argue that Rollins, Cena, Owens, Cesaro, Ziggler, Orton, Ambrose, Wyatt, even Roman Reigns...they're all doing a hell of a job. The tag team scene is very entertaining as well. They botched the IC Title picture by having Big Show involved, though. The Divas Revolution is going very well.
People who think "PG" is the problem and want non-stop cursing, blood, chair shots to the head, and sexually explicit storylines don't understand pro wrestling and should probably go get another hobby.

I don't know if we should be blaming the lack of blood on the PG rating. If anything, I think we should be blaming Abdullah The Butcher & Bob Orton. Abdullah was sued for 2.3 million dollars a few years back for giving another wrestler Hepatitis. And Bob Orton was fired for having hepatitis, not telling WWE, and bleeding all over the Undertaker.
They didn't take blood away to spite us, they took it away to protect the talent.

I also believe someone got in trouble for using a blood capsule in their mouth. I forgot who it was, but that censorship and policy is there because the program is PG not for safety.

That's a fair point too. I'm sure the truth falls somewhere in the middle. Slightly off topic: I have a friend that gets squeamish when he sees other people bleeding, so I always think of people like that when we get the black and white footage.

My favorite counterpoint to the PG argument is, and always has been the fact that Smackdown has been TV-PG since the beginning, and for a period of two or more years, it was the best programming WWE had.
Not to mention, people fail to realize that if they look at the scale of what constitutes a TV-PG rating, WWE is hardly pushing the envelope. So,
TV-PG----WWE-----TV-14.
In other words, they could go further and still retain the rating.

If the show wasn't booked like a cartoon then no one would have a problem with the TV rating.

I've never had a problem with the PG thing. While I'd rather have things more like how they used to be I'm fine with how it's been. The problem doesn't lie with less to no blood, swearing, stripping, etc... It lies with the fact the storylines got worse than they ever were before and the talent pool was incredibly thin. They botched so many angles that could have been great and never recovered. Outside of Jericho, Lesnar, Punk, Bryan, and a few others, no one has really impressed me. And out of all those guys, Lesnar(A noted part timer), is the one who will probably wrestle the most matches from now til the end of their careers.
