Hey guys, My curiousty has lead me to question how many sales mattel get on average per wrestling figure. Ofcourse we know that there are loads of collectors out there but wouldnt you want to know an exact amount of sales for example Bray Wyatt - Elite 28 (personal favourite)
Anyway ive been searching mattel sale statistics and nothing seems to come up for wwe
Any thoughts?

Moving this to the Mattel board, though admittedly I'm sure you could find Mattel quarterly reports on the NYSE's site and go from there.

Well Mattel doesnt sell individual figures. They sell series in case assortments. Its not like tshirts or other merchandise. Royalties and such are a lump sum for video games/action figures. For instance, e32 Bryan and e33 Cesaro are rotting 5-6 months later still. This doesnt effect Mattels sales, as they already sold a whole case(s)
You might be able to find how well each series sold to retailers, but not how much of one figure was sold globally

You can't tell how much of x figure sold since they all have the same dpci code.

I don't think Mattel tells how many of each wave or each figure they make

Well, if all of this is true, then how the heck do they determine which individual characters get another figure and others who do not?

Well, if all of this is true, then how the heck do they determine which individual characters get another figure and others who do not? Easy, is your name John Cena? If yes, then more figures. Brian Myers (Curt Hawkins) explained in his Kayfabe Commentaries Timeline 2008 how it works. He mentioned Dr Death and Jacqueline Mania XV BCA figures rotting for years. Im sure theres a bunch of factors, but these boards help im sure. Bill asks for help sometimes with attires, and im sure RSC gauges demand from here

I snagged Dr.Death and Edge from the same BCA series from Target for $2 each on clearance in 1999-2000 ish. Good times.
