The prices of elites have gone way up, and the quality has gone down. Messy paint, loose joints, plastic shirts and accessories. I dont think that price point is justified whatsoever.

That's what I feel, I remember when I got 4 elites for £52 now it's £54 for 3.

That was 5 years ago when Elites were $14-$15 now elites are $19-$22 so 2-Packs would cost $40-$45. So there's no way retailers will be on board with that. Over a 5 year period, the value of $1 has went down 9 cent while the price of an elite has risen by 25% - 30% in areas of higher demand.

Yeah because production costs have risen to meet the rises in the materials cost and operating costs as well as salaries. Plus retailers have raised their prices for the same reason. So yeah the price would still be $40-$45 now as opposed to 5 years ago.

You heard the expression "rob Peter to pay Paul" in Mattel's version it's WWE buyers to keep funding Barbie projects. You should read into it. You can see a lot of frustration with the departments responsible for Barbie. There is no reason why TRU would hike elite prices from $16.99 to $21.99. It wasn't a gradual process. It was one day $16.99, the next day $21.99 in this year. Wal-Mart and Target has done the same. $18 one day $21 the next.

Elites are $20, two would be $40. Basics are $10, two are $20. OK. Three Elites would be $60, four are $50. OK? Mattel pricing is brought to you in part by S. Steiner. FAATTTT ASSES!

I own two Elite 2-packs, and I would buy more.

Retailers, and in return, Mattel, stand to make more money off us rubes by selling a single Elite for $25 than an Elite 2-pack for $30. Complaining about prices spiking is nonsensical, prices never go down...

I think Mattel made quite a few error's early on. The 2 packs were one of them. Lets face it, if they started with LOD, Rockers and Hart Foundation (hmmm who else did that) I think they would have found more success with them. I also think the early decisions on the Legends line were poor. Sgt is a classic example of it. But I think they are getting them right now... Flashback's pretty much fly off the shelves, and they are thinking about different ways to get less wanted figures out (Windam - 4 horseman pack)... I do think we are at a bit of a cross roads in the line though. HOF is awesome, but can they sustain it? I think they screwed up royally with the DM and reissue of Taker. I know some love it, but for me, I hate reissues - Repaints are fine, and they can go nuts with them. The timing of the whole Hulk thing is bad... SDCC was a let down by the usual standards. I think they should chance their arm and try 2 pack elites. Ultimate Maniacs is where I want to start... I would love to RSC try and see how it goes. I think at around the $45 price point it could work. I got right back into Wrestling figures around E15-16... I did collect DM from the start, and picked up few of the Legends, but zero elites and basic's from the black carding. (have since paid for them) Lets go Mattel, try a 2 pack!
