Not really, it doesn't. All it takes is lazy/ignorant/indifferent store employees. I once took 6 elites up to the service desk at my local Wal-Mart because they all had the belts stolen out of them. I mean, not well either. The boxes were jacked UP when I picked them up off the shelf. The next time I went to that WM, they were all back on the shelf with the boxes taped up where they were previously ripped open. Stores, as a rule, just don't care.

It's sucks to come across that, unfortunately this problem is never going to go away. No..it will...but people need to tell the stores about it and not just take pics about it. It enough people complain..something will get done. Or if you think its not helping..call the corporate offices of whatever store you are seeing it at.

God, I feel bad for the employees at stores near you. Employees are lazy because they follow store policy? People like you are why these employees roll their eyes everytime a collector comes in asking for a certain product.

I remember a few times going to a toys R us when the Heritage elite Kane and Undertaker released and seeing many swaps of basic figures put in the boxes. The boxes were wide open too. It's ridiculous.

You mean people who try to keep another customer from getting screwed by part swappers and thieves? Yeah, i suck. What store do you shop at where the policy is to put damaged/partially stolen merchandise BACK on the shelf? I guarantee that is NOT a store policy, but rather an employee who doesn't care enough to send the item back or take it out of the system. I can back this up with actual knowledge because I worked for 3 years at the nation's number 2 retailer, and it is CORPORATE policy to take the damaged/stolen items out of the system and destroy them, so they don't get picked out of the dumpsters and returned or exchanged. And I don't go to the customer service counters of stores unless I see something like stolen items on shelves, because most of them behind the customer service desk lack any grasp of customer service.

It seems to be a growing problem in my area. It seems to happen most in my area around Christmas time. What sucks is, you know some kid is going to wake up Christmas morning and unwrap a figure they wanted, and be disappointed to see it has no belt, or it's the wrong figure.

Most parents can't tell the figures apart.

I hate when I see the packaging of something I have been looking for and then you see the crappy swap.

I have also worked at and have been in management at several larger retailers. I've never heard of a policy that is for an employee to take an item out of the system. when an item is stolen or tampered with, the count is adjusted and then it is up to lost prevention to determine what happens next. Sometimes the decision is to destroy it, send it back (get a credit from supplier) or reduced. Alot of the times, things get mixed up (different shifts, lack of communication) and items end up back on shelves. Also, we had so many instances that customers told us things were tampered with or stolen, yet we found out nothing was wrong with it. Also, believe it or not..not everyone working at these stores follow wwe or whatever toy. When it comes down to it, the thief is the only one to blame.

Alot of the times, things get mixed up (different shifts, lack of communication) and items end up back on shelves. Whenever an item was brought to us tampered with, return or exchanged, we immediately put it in a crate in the stockroom, and once or twice a week an employee or manager would take them out of the system, destroy the item and the package, and toss the rubbish in the dumpster. Also, we had so many instances that customers told us things were tampered with or stolen, yet we found out nothing was wrong with it. That happened where I worked, too. In those cases they went back out. But there's no reason a box that's been ripped open and accessories missing should ever be taped up and returned to the shelf. Also, believe it or not..not everyone working at these stores follow wwe or whatever toy. And I wouldn't expect them to catch the swaps if they don't follow WWE. But a customer TELLING you point blank "Hey, someone stole parts out of this item." should be easy enough get. When it comes down to it, the thief is the only one to blame. They definitely are. I just think that stores need to take some responsibility about what they put back on their shelves.

The employees should have some wwe education before being allowed to work.
