I still have the Real Scale Ring from Mattel from a long time ago. I'm really excited about the steel cage coming out but it's for the authentic scale. What are the size differences and do you all think the new steel cage coming out will fit around the old Real Scale ring?

The Mattel Elite Scale Ring is basically the same thing as the Authentic Scale Ring. Just a different box and a better ringmat.

Okay Thank You! I'm just wanting to make sure there wasn't a inch difference that would make the steel cage not fit with the Real Scale Ring. I would hate to have to go and buy a new ring for the steel cage.

I am almost positive that they are both 22" x 22"

I emailed RSC about this, as I have a Mattel ring too. They informed me the new scale cages would not fit with the Mattel ring. I find it hard to believe and am hoping someone will run the risk and buy it so I can feel good about purchasing one too.

As someone who owns the Real Scale Ring (Jakks, Mattel did NOT make this), Elite Scale Ring (Mattel), and Authentic Scale Ring (Wicked Cool Toys)...
I assume you mean you have the Elite Scale Ring. The one where the ring skirt is a separate piece from the mat and the ring posts are plastic? If that's the case, the Elite Scale Ring and Authentic Scale Ring are essentially the same molds, but with some slight tweaks to some of the pieces in the Authentic Scale Ring. I understand that RSC keeps saying that the WCT stuff won't work with the ESR, but I don't believe it. They said the same thing about the ropes Ringside made, and they work just find with my ESR.
I've done some measuring and comparisons between ESR and ASR and functionally and size wise, they seem to be the exact same thing. I will know for sure if the cages fit on the ESR when I get them, but so far, the rings are exactly the same as far as I can tell.

This may be disappointing but you may not be able to use the blue or black posts for the elite ring. They have different molding that goes in the ring. I at least know you can't put in the ESR posts in the ASR base but I am not sure about the other way around. I'd say still get the cage for the ESR.

The ASR is an improved version of the ESR. It has better support underneath the ring to make it sturdier, and it definitely has a better ring mat.
The JAKKS RSR is an excellent ring, no complaints there.

I've heard ESR posts don't work in the ASR

I was wondering the same thing, since I was contemplating buying the classic blue cage, but I wasn't sure if the pieces were compatible (Like the ring posts or aprons). I too have the ESR instead of the ASR, and due to space, I don't want to have to get another ring just to have a vintage setup (Not a lot of space to have two rings set up)

I use Mattel's Elite Scale Ring. Sure it doesn't have white ropes or the new Network logo on it, but it gets the job done. I know other people have had problems with their rings, but I find the Mattel Elite one to be very well constructed.

Never got a chance to try the RSR, but the ASR is awesome when you swap the ropes and find a better way to keep the mat down, I've used it in my shows for about a year and it's taken tons of bumps but nothing noticeable.

I told this story before, but I got my ESR off of Craigslist for about $20 and the seller even included the Jakks 2007 Raw stage and some Hell in a Cell bits (Sadly they were too small for this ring). That said, I'm glad that some people are saying the cages will work with the ESR as well as the ASR (What I'm anxious about is if the classic blue ring posts or ring aprons will work)
