Would it be so bad, and would it actually hurt Balor if...
Cena cost Owens the NXT title in Japan.
Say Cena shows up distracts Owens or does something without actually getting in the ring, allowing Balor to win the NXT title.
The plus side is you have renewed interest in watching Owens beat the crap out of Cena at Battleground and their feud may go on to Summerslam or even longer. Owens can also leave NXT as he would have a new "mission".... to destroy Cena.... Balor also would have the NXT title.
but would it hurt Balor or would it even matter... as he would have the title and that's all that matters...

Cena vs Owens should be finished at Battleground. For once, WWE should avoid running a rivalry into the ground. Cena evening the odds for Balor would work, but Cena helping Balor cheat to win a 1 on 1 match does nothing for anybody.

IMO the best booking for all 3 would be if Balor and Owens had a great back and forth match, each getting their moments but in the end Balor keeps kicking out and Owens can't seem to keep him down. Owens teases using the title or a chair on Balor with Cena coming down as a distraction, Balor then gaining the upperhand on Owens and hitting the Coup De Grace for the win.
This way it still makes Balor look strong, Owens has a nice path out of NXT and the Cena/Owens feud builds up for Battleground where I think the feud should end. Personally, I think Owens should win the US title at Battleground, Cena go on to a new feud for Summerslam and Owens feud with Cesaro for the US title. This also opens the door for a renewed rivalry with Cena later this year or next year without it feeling stale plus it doesn't close the door on the Zayn/Owens feud either as once Zayn comes up to the main roster, Owens will be a top guy that has had at least a few feuds and be looked at as a household name, if he's not there already.

Man, if Cena is another 4+ PPV feud that would be awful. It killed Rusev, and it'll hurt Owens. Let the feud end before any interest is completely dead. WWE creative seems to get a PPV card and copy/paste it for another 3 shows.

For once, I want something on WWE TV where a feud goes beyond the mold of first match, rubber match, over coming the odds match, end of feud. This actually has a bigger story to it. The winning of a man's son's fandom. Being a childs hero. Would it be He find a hero in the Cena Era, or in the Anti Hero? This needs to go beyond. End with an actual stipulation, Not some bs table match. No Hell in the Cell. No I Quit.,.. This is the feud that could use the 3 Stages of Hell match.

We have 6 + hours of content a week. In this age, we know a feud is between 30-90 days of TV, roughly 3 weeks of TV and a PPV or 9 weeks of TV and 3 PPV's. I'm just tired of that coolie cutter recipe for feuds. I want so ething stretches out. This is it. Its not using the WWE World Title. This is actually boosting the US Title. I'd like to eventually see the Us and IC titles get unified.

Cena should be nowhere near that match. Balor should win clean, plain and simple.
I'd be fine if he talked sh*t to Owens backstage and got in his head, but physically interfering during the match would be a bad call.

That would suck. No offense.
That would be a very heel thing for Cena to do...you know, costing someone a match.
Cena has no stake in the NXT title. There is zero reason for him to interfere or cause a distraction.

It would hurt Balor, but it is something that I think WWE could book. It shouldn't happen, though.

Wouldn't surprise me if that's what we get. That way Balor gets the NXT title, while Owens still looks strong going into the US title match.

I dont think it could but, if Balor goes over, which it seems like he will. And Owens beats Cena, then thats gonna make Balor look even better when he comes to raw.

I think Finn Balor going over clean is the best thing that can happen, adding fuel to the fire that is the fury of Owens.

It would be a nice twist for Balor to just outlast and out hit Owens setting up him going into his match with Cena extra hungry and angry over his title loss. Of course that is to deep for WWE character development anymore so Balor will likely lose due to Joe screwing things up leading to a vacated title and a 4 man match for the strap at the next NXT live event so Owens can still be part of the show and not lose.

I'd rather that didn't happen.

ing terrible idea. Owens is chasing the US Title right now. That's all that feud needs. Plus the first two matches have been amazing. Why do I need any more incentive to watch those two wrestle? I expect Owens to lose the NXT Title so he can win the US Title, and for the feud to close out at SummerSlam. Let Balor have his moment in Japan. He'll go over Owens and then Owens can focus on the main roster. Owens and Balor have their own story together and this is a big moment for Balor. Absolutely no reason to Starrcade 97 the whole deal when Balor is the most over babyface in NXT.

I don't think Balor would be hurt by it, but interfering in a match isn't really Cena's style. I think Balor will get the big time win in front of the Japanese crowd to be honest.

If Cena is involved in that match, it'll make Balor look weak as Hell. And weak as Hell he ain't.
