Thats a booking issue though, you could have done the same thing with Ziggler They could have but only if Ziggler lost the show off character to become an underdog/workaholic type. Take away the flashy persona and the overselling bumps and Ziggler is back to being in the spirit squad. I completely disagree with you here, and think he could pull it off

I love how the latest "breaking news" says he resigned a new contract WEEKS ago,
Which means, all of this bs rumor stuff over the past week has been completely wrong.
So stupid.

I knew his concussion's couldn't have taken that much of a toll. I could see him leaving for a lighter travel schedule or something but I don't see TNA or Lucha Underground being options at this point simply because the future of both companies seems to be in question on a daily basis. I really don't see Dolph going to Japan at this point in his career either.

I mean, he always seems to be involved in a storyline even if it's not the best. I mean, the current story with Lana and Rusev is absolute trash but at least he's doing something. A lot of guys on the roster would love to have any sort of story or character development.

Basically, if I was getting paid to suck face and swap spit with Lana every week then I'd sign a 10 year contract.

I would've liked to see him in Lucha Underground (assuming they'll still be around) but I never expected him to go anywhere. I hope he got a good sized raise and a promised push. Dude deserves it.

I really hope Dolph at least gets one more world title match. After what happened at Survivor Series and Wrestlemania, I really wanted to see Ziggler vs Rollins main event a PPV. Don't think that's going to happen sadly.

Were there retirement rumors? Does the internet know that TNA still exists?

He should go heel again. He just doesn't have face charisma, IMO. I enjoy his ring work but I can't connect with his personality or character.
He'd be much better as the d-bag cocky heel who says he's better than everyone else.

He'd be much better as the d-bag cocky heel who says he's better than everyone else. He wouldn't. He did that for years and couldn't draw a single boo unless he had a heel who was actually over doing his talking for him. In the ring, Ziggler is a terrible heel. He wrestles for wacky bump pops whether he's a good guy or bad guy. He wants people to love him.

No face charisma... but you need even more charisma and better mic skills to be a convincing heel - so he's out of luck there, as well.

Dolph confirmed that he's resigned with WWE and said that he'll be ending his career there.
Wasn't it reported that he signed a 5 year deal? I do hope that he gets at least one run with the WWE World Title before he officially retires. If Sheamus, Del Rio and Miz can win the WWE Title then I'm sure Dolph can.

Knew he wouldn't have the balls to leave.

Who would have thought that the guy tthat went from a male cheerleader to a guy who properly introduced himself to his opponents would even go this far?
I'm happy for him if he's staying and getting the push he deserves.. If Rollins wouldn't be World Champ and the best thing going in the WWE today, I would really want him and Ziggler as cocky Rockstar heel TagTeam!

Dolph Ziggler appeared on this afternoon's "Chad Dukes Versus The World" on 106.7 The Fan in Washington DC, commenting that his WWE deal isn't done. PWInsider heard from WWE sources last week that the two sides had completed a new deal. During the appearance, Ziggler commented, "I'm thinking about it right now. I had a request for an upcoming contract that would end a few months from now, maybe two or three months from now, and they requested back what they would like, I countered another offer and we're waiting to finalize some things. I love WWE and I can't picture myself wrestling somewhere else but it's also becoming now where that Wednesday and Thursday, I can't just do that and get some outside live events for comedy and different movie and television options, which would only be to promote myself as a WWE superstar, to make myself a bigger star so I can advance more in WWE. So if I can't find that happy medium, I might have to go away for a little bit. What I wanna do is make myself a bigger asset to WWE. If it involves leaving, that would crush me but it might."
The comments would also be at odds with a statement made over the weekend to The Boston Herald about signing a new deal.
