Madison Square Garden comes alive with live wrestling tonight and there were like a sh*tload of people in the audience- just cheering and booing their caffeinated brains out!
The competitor for the next match had already entered the ring. He was a tall, ball-headed mammoth of a man that could have looked like he was either from Sons of Anarchy or a gay porno. Penny couldn’t tell… And for that matter, she didn’t even bother paying any attention to his theme music because the moment she stepped through the curtain, the harsh roar of L7’s “Fast And Freighting” just in’ rips though the spears, completely blowing everyone away that a couple heads actually blew up.
Like, people’s brains… Exploding all over the arena, if the Garden wasn’t so ed up enough to begin with.
But hey, this was a WFWF Show. And if there was any ery to be had anywhere close to a wrestling ring, it was going to be presented by the WFWF!
If the place wasn’t crazy enough, they obviously lost their crap at the sight of her as she marched down the stage.
- Ehhhh, something doesn’t feel right. Let’s try this one again! –
Madison Square Garden comes alive with live wrestling tonight and there were like a sh*tload of people in the audience- just cheering and booing their brains out.
Her opponent was in the ring… Blah, blah, blah… He looks like a bear power bottom.
And… A song came on. It had a sleazy guitar riff that was catchy enough that it was the kind of the thing that was probably gonna get stuck in Penny’s head for the whole day.
And it had a girl singing it.
“… Penny… Penny… PENNY!”
Penny sauntered through the curtain and opened out her arms, turning on her heel as she felt like a ing princess on the top of the stage with all of New York drooling at her.
“She’s so cute.
And she’s so sexy.
She’s got the moves,
That kicks a lot of ass.”
Penny started chewing on her gum as she let the heart-shaped shades she had on slip down to her nose as she looked into the camera and grinned as she turned one-eighty and started dancing and strutting her cute butt down the isle.
“She sends chills,
Up and down my spine-
She’s just my smexeh gurl!”
“… SMEXEH GUUURL”, a chorus behind the lead sang.
“She’ll make your gonads curl.”
“… GONADS CUUURL”, the chorus sang again.
Penny made a rush up to the apron, slowly curling her leg around the middle rope as she leaned against the top rope, smiling at all the pretty ladies in the crowd.
Penny slipped beneath the ropes and started spinning around and around with her arms flailing about as her theme song included a wicked guitar solo that gave Penny all the room she needed to flex her knees on one side as she semi squatted down and curled a bicep, which was now apparently holding up what looked like the International Championship.
-Yeah, I like this!-
-I get where you’re going with this, but we can’t do this.-
-Why not?-
-First off, you can’t use the song.-
-Why not?-
-It doesn’t exist, Penny.-
-Yeah, it does… Since now?-
-Penny...-
-Come on! We can always get a band to play it!-
-And who’s gonna sing it? You?-
-Yeah, eventually… If I like it enough, why not?-
-I’ll see what we can do about the song-
-That’s all I’m asking. Can I go on now?-
-Go ahead.-
<***>
“Well, that’s pretty much it.”, Penny said, shrugging as she held up her action figure.
“I liked where you we’re going with it.”
“Cut the crap, Josh.”
“No, I mean it.”, Josh said, standing up from his chair as he held out his hand for Penny, pointing at the action figure.
Penny handed Josh her Mini-Me, still contorted into that pose she was working out as it held up a toy-version of the WFWF International Championship belt.
“This though.”, Josh said, holding up the action figure as he pointed to the belt. “This is something we can definitely do.”
Penny grabbed her action figure again and sat back down on the chair in front of Josh’s desk, sinking into her seat a little as she looked at her action figure- this was something she had spent her whole life waiting for and now it was here, in her hand. It was so friggin’ cool!
And something Penny had Mr. Dean over there add into her contract was that each new line of WFWF figures and accessories would be shipped to her home in Toronto. But the people over at the toy company screwed up and ended delivering the package to Josh’s Atlanta office, where she now had the Real Arena Action Playset laid out on Josh’s desk.
The Real Arena Action Playset was a combination wrestling ring-entrance ramp playset with a small little catwalk that separated both ends.
Penny brought her figure back to the top of the ramp and looked up at Josh.
“I still think I need a new theme song.”
Josh sat back down and shrugged. “Maybe it’ll come to you when you become International Champion.”
“You really thing this could to be a thing?”
“I don’t see why not.”
“Let me think about this.”

It was actually a nice afternoon- like, for the first time in a long while, Penny didn’t mind the sun. Not at all.
Penny was lying down on one of the pool-side lounge chairs in Dean Mannor, sipping ice tea, totally rockin’ a Bikini Kill crop top and getting ready to smoke herself a well-deserved bowl. Her action figure chilling beside her.
Nikki was inside helping Drake with his assignments. Penny figured if there was any chance for her to get blazed, it was going to have to be right now.
Penny sat up and took a look around… Coast looked clear enough. Penny lit up.
She took the most she could get from those hits; lighting carefully as she pulled back, taking a couple long hits.
Penny coughed a little bit and pulled the pipe away, waving the smoke away as she took another look around.
Penny lit up.
“Hey, there you are!”
‘Oh crap’, Penny thought to herself, coughing out now as she put the breaks on.
She started to choke a little.
Nikki came over with her arm over Penny’s shoulder. “You okay, Penpen?”
Penny reached for her iced-tea and sipped it. “I wasn’t expecting you.”
“I can tell.”, Nikki replied. “I know what you were doing.”
Penny held up her pipe and grinned. “Want some?”
Nikki rolled her eyes and slapped Penny on the arm. “Knock it off!”
“Yes, mom.”, Penny hissed as she put the pipe away.
Nikki pointed at the action figure. “That’s so cute.”
“You wanna play with it?”, Penny asked, grabbing her toy.
Nikki rolled her eyes and laughed.
“What?”
“I’m sorry.”
“I know you are.”
“You know I didn’t mean it like that, right?”
“I know, but knowing you…”, Nikki started, trying to articulate herself.
“Anything can sound dirty?”
“A little bit.”
“Well, I didn’t mean it.”
Nikki grabbed the action figure and looked at it. “I know you didn’t.”
“Anyway.”, Penny shrugged. “Isn’t it pretty cool?”
“It is. I like her belt.”
“I like her belt too.”
“So?”
“… So?”
“Are you going to do it?”
“You just talked to Josh, didn’t you?”
“Maybe, I don’t remember.”, Nikki shot back, waving Penny away.
“I haven’t even been in here twenty minutes.”
“Well, he told me to talk to you.”, Nikki said, getting a little closer. “And I’m glad he did.” Nikki held up the action figure. “I mean, look at this! It’s pretty obvious you’re thinking about going after the International Championship.”
“Thinking. Keyword: Thinking.”
“Then, what’s stopping you?”
Penny sighed. “I don’t know.”
“No. I know you do know. What is it?”
“Yeah, I’m totally sure I could win it. But I don’t know if I can hold on to it.”
“You don’t know that.”
“But I know myself.”
“That's better!”
“How’s that any better?”
“You know yourself, so you know what’s best for you above anybody else.”
“And it’s telling me I can’t keep it.”
“I’m not telling you to listen to it.”, Nikki said. “But I do think there’s something you can do about it.”
Penny sighed. “Winning it, that’s easy. It’s holding on to it that’s the problem. Before you know, there’s all this expectation set on you to perform better than you did the night before. And on top of all that, I’m going to have a waiting list of people who wanna beat me up and take my title away.”
“Isn’t that what you want?”, Nikki shot back. “A waiting line of people whose asses you want to kick.”
“Huh, I never thought of it like that.”
“Sweetie.”, Nikki sighed, wrapping her arm around Penny’s shoulder. “The only person stopping you is yourself. I can get where you’re coming from, after having heard everything you told me about Scarlett. It’s easy to see how going through something like that could have clouded your judgment a little. But all that happened to Scarlett, not you and you’re going to have to let that one go.”
Penny didn’t say anything. She didn’t know what to say, even if she did. All she wanted to do was take a good toke because that one hit pretty close.
“Penny? Are you alright?”
“I’m cool.”, Penny replied. “… That was very true. Everything you just said and I guess I just didn’t know how to react to it, that’s all.”
“You’re gonna be alright, Penny.”
Penny took a deep breath and sighed, smiling a little at Nikki. “Thanks, Hun. I know I will be.”.
<***>
“Huh.”, Penny shrugged. “I really thought we were going to a Starbucks or something.”
Mary looked back at Penny with a raised eyebrow as she walked into the coffee shop.“You seem a little disappointed?”
“I’m pleasantly surprised?”
Mary crossed her arms and shrugged. “I can take that. Now, where do you want to sit down?”
“Corner booth seems cozy.”, Penny replied, looking at it. It had pillows and the seats were part of the building and there were blankets, and it really looked cozy as !
“Alright.”, Mary nodded, walking ahead of Penny as she pulled out her tweed jacket and sat down.
“Nice.”, Penny said, sitting down now as she looked at Mary and smiled.
Penny didn’t really know what to call this. All the people, specifically girls, that remained constant in her life were either related to her, in a relationship with someone else, or just didn’t see her that way. And she could never figure that out.
Dating, or at least having someone within the level of dating(even datingish), wasn’t a thing that always happened to her.
Picking up girls, and just messing around with one girl after another just seemed a lot easier for to come by that someone than someone who actually wanted her around or liked her back.
But Mary’s a girl…
Who wanted to hang out with her!
Penny didn’t know if she was making a friend or a potential girlfriend, because if she was, it wasn’t like she was looking at Mary or anything. She wasn’t. She was a cute girl that Penny met in Josh’s office. And she liked talking to her. She was a really, really, cool person. And Penny thought she was hot.
.
“… Penny?”
“Hey.”
“Are you alright? You looked like you spaced out for a moment there.”
“Kinda did.”, Penny nodded. “Sorry.”
“It’s alright. Happens to me a lot.”, Mary shrugged.
“You too, huh?”
“I like thinking a lot, but I do it so much that I’ve started to wonder what I liked so much about it in the first place.”
“At least you’ve got a brain. There are like, six billion people on the planet right now and probably half of that don’t even have one.”
“It would be nice not to have one sometimes.”, Mary chuckled.
“Easy for you to say.”, Penny said, letting her chin fall gracefully into the palm of her hand. “You stop wanting to think and one day, you wake up and you tell yourself that you want to feel. So you just go and go and go, until before you know it, all the things you did it eventually multiplied into a million tiny thoughts you end up wanting to kick your own ass for not thinking about in the first place.”
“Oh gosh.”, Mary sighed with a slight drawl from an accent that was just starting to get used to Georgia. “Is that why you smoke so much pot?”
“Maybe.”, Penny shrugged. “But not all the time, you know?”
Mary nodded and reached out for Penny’s hand. “You wanna talk about it?”
Mary was holding Penny’s hand.
Mary.
Was holding.
Penny’s.
Hand.
… Uhm?
“What’s the deal with today?”, Penny grunted. “It’s like everyone wants to talk to me about what’s on my mind.” She leaned close and asked, “Did Josh put you up to this?”
“Why would he?”
“I don’t know.”, Penny shrugged. “Forget I said anything.”
“You’re obviously stressed.”, Mary said, standing up now. “So, let me get us some coffee and I’ll be right back.”
“Okay.”, Penny nodded.
“What do you want? It’s on me.”
“It’s fine.”
“Trust me, I think you need this more than I do.”
“Okay, get me a green tea shake-frap-thing with soy?”
“Sure.”, Mary smiled, walking away now.
Penny dropped her head and watched Mary as she walked up to the counter. She was a cute little thing- a little on the petite-side, but not really to skinny or tiny. She had a nice figure though, kinda on the average side if Penny had to call it that, which she totally didn’t want to.
Her face… Her face! Her eyes were on the smaller side and we’re almost green and she just looked like she had the softest brown hair ever.
Penny had a hard time figuring out what she could make of Mary, but Mary was a lady. A lady in the purest sense of the word.
And that was really ing cool.
Mary came back a couple minutes later, holding up a big-ass mug of what was probably somekind of fancy coffee thing and an equally big-ass glass of Penny’s green tea frap.
She set the drinks down on the table and slid back into the booth, getting a bit closer to Penny now as she leaned back, locked her legs and reached out for her cup.
“So.”, Mary began, holding up a cute little smile as she held her cup daintily with both of her hands. “Are you gonna tell me what’s on your mind?”
“That’s a bit forward, don’t you think?”, Penny shot back, sipping her frap from a straw.
“Well, that is why I bought you that drink.”
Penny leaned close. “Are you sure Josh didn’t put you up to this?”
“No, he didn’t.”, Mary chuckled, taking a small sip. “You can relax. It just seemed like there was something bothering you and I wanted to help, that’s all.”
“Thanks.”, Penny smiled, sipping her frap.
…
…
…
“I guess I just don’t know what to do with myself, again.”, Penny began. “It’s like I keep promising all these things and coming back, but nothing ever really changes. I come in, I do my thing and that’s it.”
“Okay.”
“But, I don’t know how far doing that, again, can take me.”, Penny dropped her chin on her palm and sipped her frap again. “I want to have this big come back- be a brand new me and kick ass, and have the entire world fall in love with me for being awesome. But all I ever seem to do is just hang around and wait for something to happen.”
“Have you thought about your goals?”
“No.”, Penny replied, crossing her head. “Like me becoming a wrestler, it’s just something that happened enough that I was able to keep doing it until all these opportunities showed up. I guess I never gave myself the change to think about what I wanted to be when I was younger, I just kind of ended up here.”
Mary licked her lips and nodded. “I know how that feels.”
“You’re not from around here, are you?”
“Nope.”, Mary said, turning her head. “And you can already pick that up from my accent.”
“How’d you get here?”
Mary gave herself a moment and took a deep breath. “Grew up in DC. Before I knew it, I found myself in Portland and when that stopped being fun, I ended up here in Atlanta.”
Penny sipped her frap. “Do you like it here?”
“I do.”, Mary replied, nodding her head. “I really didn’t expect it to be this chill. There are cool things that happen around town and I don’t know, but I’m just tired of all the trendy super-cities all over the country. This is a lot more relaxed, at least in terms of the atmosphere. And I like that.”
“You should show me around.”, Penny murmured.
“Hmm?”
“Nothing.”, Penny said, turning her head.
Mary nodded and sipped her coffee. “Sorry, if I interrupted you there.”
“It’s cool.”, Penny waved her off.
“So, tell me more.”, Mary said, putting down her cup. “I know about you and the eye-patch. You came back to the WFWF last night and you’re trying to figure out your comeback?”
“Pretty much.”, Penny nodded.
“So, what happens now?”
“Not a lot.”, Penny shrugged, sipping her frap from a straw. “Got another match.”
“Who are you facing?”
“Lucas Crowe.”, Penny nodded.
“How is he?”
“He’s big, he’s strong, and he could probably hurt me.”, Penny replied. “He’s been hanging around Justin Tyme, who’s been on and off with the company for as long as I can remember.”
“That doesn’t sound very fair.”, Mary said.
“Yeah.”, Penny shrugged. “But I kind of made a name for myself off beating men who are a lot bigger than me. Once you take a couple of them down, the rest are pretty easy.”
Mary raised her eyebrow and sipped her coffee.
“What was that?”
“What was what?”
“That look.”, Penny replied, leaning close. “You probably think I’m a little bit crazy.”
“You are a wrestler.”
“And that I’m over-confident?”
“Yeah, a little?”, Mary shot back.
“A little?”
“What do you want me to say?”, Mary said, crossing her arms. “You’ve never fought this Lucas Crowe guy and you’re already telling me you can beat him.”
“Because I can.”, Penny shot back. “I could drop some Molly and smoke the fattest blunt in the world, but I could go out to that ring and still beat him up.”
“You really think so?”
“Hun.”, Penny grinned. “He isn’t the first giant I’ve destroyed before and he probably isn’t going to be the last.”
Mary rolled her eyes, smiling a little.
Yeah, even on a very basic level, Mary liked her. Penny could totally feel that.
Mary sipped her coffee. “How do you do it then? How do you beat up guys that big?”
“Being a girl helps.”, Penny began, sipping her frap again. “Some of them don’t want a fight a girl and they can say all kinds of crazy crap, but the moment the bell rings and we’re in the ring, they just tense up. It’s like they can’t hit me.”
Penny took another sip. “The ones that do want to fight me usually try to get off from it. It’s like, now they can finally lay their fingers on a woman and hurt her and not feel bad about it. But they just get so consumed in trying to hurt me that they kind of throw the match out the window- it’s like they forget that there's still a wrestling match to win, you know?”
“Maybe Lucas Crowe’s different?”
“I’d like to think so.”, Penny nodded. “It would be nice to get into a ring with someone that actually wanted to wrestle me for once.”
“Think Lucas Crowe is going to be that guy?”
“I hope so. I’m getting bored.”
“Yeah?”
Penny nodded and leaned back. “I’ve already done everything I could have wanted to do in wrestling. Sure, I’ve got this match with Lucas Crowe. Then what?”
“You sound like you need a challenge.”
Penny looked away from Mary for a moment and sighed, thinking about the International Championship again and just how much she wanted to walk into an arena, holding up her championship to the soundtrack of a song that was written especially for her.
“Maybe, I do.”, Penny said, licking her lips. “Maybe I do.”.
