So in a recent conference call, Triple H stated by 2016 he wanted NXT as an established, full touring show. It got me thinking, how can you sustain success while staying true to grassroots?
Well, with all of the injuries to guys like Zayn, Itami, Riley, etc... the roster of well known (enough to draw on the road) is thin. Do you think Trips could be thinking of moving established stars to NXT?
I was thinking, even though their star power is still relevant, wouldn't it be huge if someone like Jericho, RVD, Bubba Ray, etc... went to NXT and did the tv tapings and bigger house shows (out of Florida)?
It would give countless match possibilities and give talents coming up a huge rub and background once they got to the main roster.
Would you guys be in favor of this?

Sure but they should also have former top divas like Victoria and Mickie do stuff with NXT because they could help out just as much as people like Rhyno and RVD.

Certain names will be up for it but others won't. Although I think the number should be kept low. If an influx of them came in at once it wouldn't feel special.

Not too many. It'll get watered down.

Then you risk ing up what makes it special imo. I'm not entirely against it, I think a guy like Cliff Compton who fits both the veteran and Indy role makes a lot of sense or Carlito would be great, but I think WWE is better off sucking up guys like AJ, The Bucks, the Machine Guns, A Double, is a way better way to approach the brand. It's still a niche and perceived as the "anti-WWE" brand, even though it's WWE. So you want to maintain that illusion as best as possible. I believe WWE tried to insert Big Show and Ryback onto those NXT Ohio shows and the crowd sh*t all over them. Cesaro, however, was welcomed with open arms, as he's one of their guys, so to speak. It's a slippery slope.

Where is Christian? I think he would be perfect.

limit the veterans focus on the talented "young" indy guys
simple formula that will ALWAYS work. nothing wrong with having Rhyno or Kendrick working some matches or getting in a little feud once in awhile...but having those guys or guys like them there every week just turns this into a WWE reject project. NXT is supposed to be the future, not the past

I like that they make special appearances but aren't regulars on the roster (except for Rhyno).
It would be cool to see them pop in and out but don't need to be taking up spots.
Come in, put over younger talent, leave.

I think NXT having veterans is perfect to be honest!
It's what made ECW special at first. People watched it cause of guys like Jimmy Snuka, Don Muraco, Terry Funk, because they remembered them from WWE TV. Then they see them compete with Dreamer, Tazmaniac, Sabu, and such, and you are introducing these new wrestlers to the fans.
NXT needs to do that for sure but it should be used for guys who want one more chance at glory (ex. Rhyno right now, and even Christian would fit perfect into that mix) or guys who never won a World Title but were ever so close (kind of like how Lance Storm had an ROH Title match in 2006 for ROH to try and win that World Title that has eluded him).
So I am okay for some vets to be apart of NXT!

I like that NXT is bringing in veterans and they're implying the Paul Heyman strategy whitch is bring in veterans and have them help put over young talent on the rise.

Once they start touring, I can see Jericho going with the NXT crews rather than WWE. More fun for him, and it gives those shows star power.

Just hire Santana Garnett/Brittany DAMMIT!
Edit - I don't think Riley is a veteran at all he isn't that bad at wrestling but still... I'm even surprised he's still hired after years of being completely unused correctly

I'd personally love to see the likes of Tajiri in NXT...fills the Japanese void while Hideo recovers to an extent...
