RIP Owen. This was front page news here which was how I found out about the incident in the first place. I would have only been seven years old at the time, but one thing was always constant back then and that was how much I liked the Harts. It's still hard looking back on it. I've actually seen the grave in passing; the cemetery is within walking distance of my house.

Where can I begin to remember May 23rd, 1999. I remember watching Over The Edge 1999 live and when the accident happened, I couldn't grasp what happened (I was 10 going on 11). It wasn't till Jim Ross had to announce to the world that Owen Hart had passed away. I remember Ross saying this somewhere (may have been on his podcast) that he was unsure to even make mention of it. Such a tragic day in wrestling history.
Had he been alive today, I wonder what Owen Hart would be doing today. Sadly, we won't ever get the chance to know.

RIP. Love Owen still, just a hell of a performer and good guy outside of the ring. His was the first wrestling death I remember. It still sucks.

Crazy how long it's been. I'm currently re-watching all of the WrestlManias and 3 days ago was on WMX. As I was watching Bret vs Owen I had almost a new appreciation for his work. So unfortunate the way this all went down. Hopefully one day he can receive the recognition and honor he truly deserves by being inducted into the Hall of Fame. I still remember the day this happened. 13 years old. I would usually go to my friends house to watch the PPV's but my mom wouldn't let me go this night. My buddy called me and told me what happened so my brother and I sprinted out of the house and ran the six blocks to get there. My friend was damn near in tears when we got there.
R.I.P Owen

He was the better Hart brother. I never enjoyed Bret, but I loved Owen. I really wanted to see him get the belt, he could've carried it just as well as Bret, as he was every bit as talented and far more charismatic. Like Angle I would say Owen was a true natural professional wrestler. I was considerably older than most of you, as I was in high school. I didn't order the show, so I found out the next morning when my father told me. that was a difficult school day to get through. Now my dad's gone too. sixteen years, but it still feels like last week. Im turning into one of those old 'where does the time go?' guys.
I truly hope Owen eventually gets the respect he deserves. I understand Martha's pov, but I certainly don't like it.
