3/10 PPV and only that because of tag title match and that main event was amazing. I concur... The real by-the-numbers affair that was just 'there'...main event was highly enjoyable and all former Shield members were excellent in their roles for this match...Orton too... ...the less said about Cena and Rusev the better....I enjoyed New Day vs Cesaro/Kidd despite the hokey finish.... Amazed there was colour in the first match...Naomi as a heel is interesting...

So I get that Wyatt needed a PPV win like a mofo
But why the hell couldn't they have Harper and Rowan come out and help him win? Ryback losing semi clean (minus the turnbuckle nonsense) is no good for someone as over as he is.

Both guys need wins, so one guy has to suffer.

This right here was the best part of payback even though it was only for like 2 seconds.

Quick Review:
Sheamus Vs Ziggler- I really didnt watch much of this, saw too many rest holds from Sheamus that got me bored and pay attention elsewhere.
New Day Vs Kidd/Cesaro- Awesome match here. Cesaro and Kidd are awesome and they pulled out some crazy stuff here. Great back and forth action. I actually enjoyed the finish, thought it worked well. Kind of excited for this Tag Team Elimination Chamber. Figure, New Day Vs Kidd/Cesar Vs Lucha Dragons.
Bray Wyatt Vs Ryback- Did nothing for me. Its a shame because I used to enjoy Bray a lot but I couldnt care less about this match. Maybe its because its a Ryback singles match.
Cena Vs Rusev- Not a bad match honestly. of the 3 PPV matches, I felt this was the best one. They clicked last night but it was your typical John Cena match. Ending was expected and I hope this doesnt lead to another match.
Naomi/Tamina Vs Bellas- First off I have to say the Bellas are so improved its not even funny. These two chicks were absolutely terrible when they came in and now they are improved greatly. I guess banging two top superstars did them good. Match was good, little bit sloppy but I can see past that. I love watching Naomi and I think this heel turn is great for her. Ending was eh. Bring on more Naomi Vs Nikki.
Neville Vs 'King' Barrett- Barrett bores me to tears. The only reason this didnt get the Sheamus/Ziggler and Ryback/Wyatt treatment from me is strictly because of Neville. Match was alright, Neville did his usual as did Barrett. Neville has been on a roll since debuting on RAW and this was meh. Maybe I'm right about Wade Barrett, that he just isnt a good fit for WWE. I liked the ending and the beatdown was what it was.
Rollins Vs Orton Vs Reigns Vs Ambrose- Great match. All 4 guys did their jobs and all looked good. Shield reunion was cool for what it was, though Rollins just looked silly doing the fist thing but I guess it worked in the moment. A little too much interference for Rollins IMO, would like to see him win a match by himself. Using the Pedigree was cool and I hope he uses it for good now.
All around I enjoyed the show. WWE seem to be doing a good job right now with the PPVs and I am enjoying the Main Event picture for the most part. But it is Kidd and Cesaro that have me tuning in every week to be quite honest.
One other thing, I hate on Reigns as much as anybody. When he is in the ring, he plays his part perfectly. I have zero complaints about what he does in the ring. What is killing this guy is how he is booked outside the ring. He is supposed to be funny and Cena-ish when thats not at all his strong point. He is a straight up ass kicker. Why is he cracking jokes, why is he speaking in general? When he cuts his promos I just want to leave the room. Seriously WWE, fix that.

This PPV was both really good and really bad at the same time. Almost every match was great, but every ending had me just saying "Really?!" Most of the ending were flat out insulting, Lana "Quits" for Rusev, Racist ref can't tell Kofi & Woods apart(And of all the cities to do that in) Barrett saying "Nah" and just getting counted out, Nikki losing to the dreaded "Flip from the top rope" after kicking out of Naomi's finisher, And don't get me started on the main event. Its a real shame, without those endings this PPV would have been a 9/10 PPV.

I read that the original plan was for Lana to take off her jacket and throw it in as the "towel". Vince reportedly changed his mind as he wanted someone to say I Quit and didn't want Lana to take off any clothes now that she's face.
Sounds dumb since taking off her jacket would have gotten the loudest pop of the night.

Sounds dumb since taking off her jacket would have gotten the loudest pop of the night. I actually agree with his reasons though. You create the I Quit situation with the understanding that someone will say it. Voice over, manager involvement or what have you, that's the stipulation. I just think it's a sucky gimmick when you aren't willing to let one guy cleanly go over the other. As far as Lana taking off her jacket, we're supposed to be taking the women seriously, and Lana is about to be the face of the Divas division. Yes, I'm still a straight misogynist with this kind of stuff and I want to see Lana with as little clothing as possible, but you don't want to degrade her to your audience in 2015, wherein we're supposed to be , mostly, over that kind of thing. WWE isn't TNA. They don't want nearly naked Taryn Terrell out there popping the male demographic, sadly. They want to sell t-shirts and Divas titles to little girls and create a classy feminine role model the company can push. All that being said, I would of had Lana throw in the towel, personally. It was predictable and what we all expected but it would have been better than what they did imo. I think they are trying to protect Rusev as best as possible but it's nearly impossible while still trying to keep Cena the great white American hope, and interjecting the Lana babyface turn. Someone ends up on the short end of the stick and it's definitely Rusev. The matches between them have gotten progressively worse over time too.

When you put it that way, I can see where you're coming from. The role model thing does make sense. Good point. I also agree about the towel thing. It would have been the best way to protect Rusev.

Worst PPV of 2015 (so far).
The show peaked at the second match. After that it was a slow decline for the Ryback/Wyatt match and then fell off the deep end with Cena/Rusev which is the worst match of 2015 so far.
The crowd didn't come back until the main event after the subpar Divas match and lame ass Barrett/Neville finish.
Main event was fun but a total clustermuck.
4/10.
The first two matches are good. Everything else can be skipped.

Meh. I forgot about Royal Rumble. Either way, Payback is 4/10. I went 7/10. First two matches each get 3 points for being good. 6/10 Cena/Rusev gets -3 points for being trash. 3/10 Divas match gets 1 point for trying. 4/10 Neville/Barrett gets -1 point for the sh*t ending. 3/10 Main event gets 1 point for being decent but a cluster. 4/10. 4/10.
