I thought they did well with the event, but kinda wish the tourny was longer. Now we wait to see if Bad News gets a legit push. I hope he does. It seems like he gets injured when he gains momentum...or he faces John Cena. If he can stay healthy this time, hopefully we can see him start holding his own against Reigns and Rollins and the likes. I really think they should have made the tournament a big bigger and run it through to Payback with the finals taking place at Payback. Neville vs Sheamus and Neville vs Barrett both have been better in recent weeks than tonight. The way the matches were laid out tonight just felt rushed and was like everybody phoned it in. It's a shame KOTR just feels less prestigious than almost everything else these days.

If you want to make KOTR more prestigious, like the title belts, it needs more build up, an appropriate amount of contenders, and the winners need to be booked to look worthy. Can't have Barrett losing much, if any at all over the next few weeks.

He's been losing almost every match he's in and now he's King of the Ring? Of the 8 guys, there were five that I could buy as winning, but Barrett/Stardust/Truth to me were the three worst winners they could have had. I love Barrett, but considering their history of giving him crap and then just randomly dropping it, it seems like this is the most irrelevant King of the Ring win in history. I've got no faith in them finally doing right by him.

I will say, I think the best thing that comes from Barrett winning, will be the segments on the JBL (and Renee) Show.

Take notes, Creative. You've got some absolute gems in the midcard that you need to be using. I guarantee not a single person on the wwe "creative" team has any idea what a notepad is

Nothing's gonna beat guys like HHH, Stone Cold, Bret Hart, and Owen Hart winning the tournament. There's just not that kinda star power these days.

But they could still book it so it means something. It just feels like a big kayfabe publicity stunt.

I like Barrett. He's an above-average/at-times-great wrestler. He is amazing on the mic, when he's actually allowed to be. He really does have the complete package of being a superstar.
But he should not have won KOTR over Neville. Should've had Neville get screwed over or something in the 2nd match. Because if you aren't going to push Neville, then getting to the finals and losing is just another bad moment for him. He should have won the damn thing.
So far Neville has debuted, lost a bunch but "hung in there"....just because he can do a top rope flip finisher isn't enough for people to care about him in the long term. I'm seriously thinking that Vince is going to destroy NXT by just bringing up all the talented guys and turning them into vanilla semi-jobbers under the guise of "well they can wrestle good, see!" until the FANS just don't care and he can be like "see we told you fans dont care about the wrestling stuff! get guys in a bunny costume! get Reigns out here now! squash matches!!"

ALL HAIL KING BARRETT!
I hope they actually DO something with him now instead of having him lose almost every match...

The finals were the two guys it should've been and the right guy won.
The "king" gimmick is built for a heel. It's why the majority of winners haven't been faces... nor should they. Hopefully this is the start of a slow push for Barrett and will eventually lead to a spot in the main event picture.
Neville was booked perfectly here. Gets the shocking win at Extreme Rules and just falls short of winning the KOTR, after beating Sheamus and taking Barrett to the limits. The guy is an underdog. Shouldn't be winning every match.

I was shocked when Neville lost, but yeah, Barret is a heel, and the King gimmick will work well on him. I hope they know what they do with Neville.. At least he beat Sheamus and Harper lol

I don't care for Barrett winning, I mean whats he gonna do now get the IC title for a 6th time? Hooray! Because I don't see them giving him the world title. They really could've showed that Neville is the future by having him win and continuing his momentum but they ruined it. IMO.
