i say the DM, it has better potability to do the leg drop, as Hogan had his spread abroad (and one is slightly higher) you get a headband, a Title, and a "tearable" shirt, not to mention, Hogan did have the 2 toned maroon kneepads I think you meant to say a "terrible" shirt.

Something else interesting I noticed that throws the DM figure off a little. The torso is the shortest of all 3 Hogan figures out now. And he has no navel! LOL! But from shortest to longest torso - Defining Moments, Basic 48, Elite 34. (Forgive my using my custom white DM Hogan, it was within reach for the photo.) Did you repaint the head for that custom hogan? For a second i thought they were two different scans.

As much i like cloth shirts, those tear away cloth shirts looked off and albeit a bit baggy

Heres my two cents and then Im out, I think most were so hard up for a Mattel Hogan they just bypass and ignore all its major flaws crack head eyes , creepy looking face like the hardcore pawn guy Les Gold and I finally figured out the hair ! Google a few of the munchkins of the lollipop guild from the wizard of Oz and there you have it and as much as I like the gold chain its not even a gold color ? So I guess Im saying when a man is starving they will eat most anything ! and call me crazy but at least I dont have holes in my head !

I wanted that "dark root" look he had in the early 80s

I really like the DM hogan. I think they nailed it on this one. The basics are cool too.

Yeah the holes in the side of the head were big thing when I saw it too, as was the tear away shirt with the perfect straight edge cut.

Exactly and when you look at any piece and thats the first thing you notice is a flaw thats a huge distraction just to start ! I mean if you own the piece right now look at it and Ill guarantee you thats what most people will focus on kinda like a defect on a new car . Question to anyone why would mattel sell the basic also with holes in its head ? I mean it didnt even come with glasses so why the holes ? thanks

So I just decided to pass (for now) on that figure I hope by the time NWO Hogan DM comes out they get it as close to perfect as possible saintpatrick33 what is your view on Elite 34 Hogan? I don't have it but I want it. To me it looks like a wonderful Hogan piece. Thoughts? Flaws?

I mentioned this another thread as I thought the head sculpt was one of the best ever for the Hulkster but its bit small on a beefy real mans Jakks figure and from the neck down its nothing special Brother kinda bland and I would have went with a real Boa .

Jakks were good figures.....10 years ago...
Mattel kills it. The matte finish, the articulation, the detailing, the SCALE! Jakks....where Hornswoggle would be as tall as Rey, and HHH, and Kane...and as jakked...

If directed at me I said numerous times before I have no scale issue with Jakks as I can make any figure taller or shorter as needed while still making it look factory Jakks and heres the proof and I can do it on anyone including refs , managers ,announcers and not that I would ever use them in a 80s WWF universe but I can also do Rey and Hornswoggle .

All i hear about is Holes in the head. Putty, sculpy, bondo, put the bandana on...thats how u fix two tiny holes in a head meant to hold a bandana
On topic, i prefer the elite, but I dont care for Hogan much

I've got the DM, its a nice figure but my complaint would be how the body looks. I'm not sure why but that's my only problem with it.

the DM obviously has the better articulation, but the Basic has a much better looking torso, in my opinion. personally, I have both, and enjoy both, and use my B48 for a Mania 2 Hogan look ( with custom headband and fabric shirt), and, of course, the DM for a Mania 3 Hogan look.

I have both and dig both for their own reasons. Basic has the closed fist which I like cause I can do his punch now Lolz. I'm a big basic fan anyway tho. I hate when people are all " basics" cause they really are great figures and I like them just as much as my elites. I started out with basics, but since I like to play (I'm an adult, I can do whatever I want!!!) I switched to mainly elites because of the articulation. But I can still appreciate the basics. Very good figures.

Something else interesting I noticed that throws the DM figure off a little. The torso is the shortest of all 3 Hogan figures out now. And he has no navel! LOL! That's because his trunks are pulled up high, making his torso look shorter and covering his navel. It's the ab crunch that throws your eye off and makes his torso look shorter. Compare it to other elite figures wearing trunks.

If the basic figures has the holes in it then why didn't they just include the bandana with the figure?! This is Hogan we are talking about, the figure will sell and I am sure his figures are given a higher budget then others so why not include this small accessory so the holes won't be visible?! The recent Wrestlemania XXXI basic figure includes removable sunglasses so I don't see why this figure couldn't come with the bandana? I am currently debating between getting this figure or waiting for the superstar entrances figure (not sure if I like the painted on shirt?!). Of course being in Canada, I have lots of time to think about it as who the hell knows when B48 will show up here?!
