I've seen 2 switches in my lifetime You're a lucky man. What I've been noticing lately around me is someone is taking an exacto knife and cutting the UPC part of the carding on Mattel boxes. They then tape that onto an old Jakks figure and return it to the store. I guess the cashier goes to scan the figure and the thieves are getting the refund value of a mattel. It's sad, if you're so broke that you need to do this maybe figure collecting is not something you should be doing in the first place.

It's hard to believe that none of these workers at returns don't recognize a swapped toy and bust a thief ever. They mostly steal elite belts at my walmart

I was on my lunch break at work today when I spotted A BP31 Cena/Warrior with Ultimate Warrior ripped right out of the packaging. It made me sick to my stomach

What bothers me most is that the stores dont care. I have brought swaps up to customer service at Target and Walmart, just to find the figs back on the shelves.
Ive been hunting for E34 for a few weeks. Nice to see they hit my area. Too bad they have been swapped. The Ezikel Jackson fig in the JYD box has been on the shelf in Target (milltown nj) for a month now. No one will buy that. No way. I guess theses stores tell the employees to just except all returns. Mattel cant do anything about it.

Mattel cant do anything about it. There's nothing the customer service people can do. in big corporations, like target, everything is seperately by different levels of employees. Alot of cases, the "stolen" items are put off to the side and the lost prevention department will make a log of it. If they can't tell if it's actually stolen (they can't believe a lever customer that comes up to them.it's MAW haven) or really tampered with (how would they know unless th ey collect)..nothing will be done. if they decide it was considered shortage, they'd tally it up, call the distrubutioN company for further instructions. some cases the distribution company will tell them to mark it down for lower prices and just credit them or they will have them destroy it/send it back to them.

It's bad when the figure in the packaging doesn't match the picture of the wrestler when it's not even the same person. That's just laziness on the part of the employee accepting the return. When I worked retail I said no all the time.

When I worked retail I said no all the time. It's not laziness, they just don't know. also, I'd like to know what store alowed you to say no even when the person has a receipt. most stores make the customer service workers, take back everything that has a receipt. I worked in retail until I was out of college and dealing with people that had constant complaints, nagging about certain products and just assuming everyone's lazy made me have a heart for people that have to work retail. except wal-mart..pretty sure the overnight stockers don't give a about anything.

They mostly steal elite belts at my walmart Hopefully one day a good WFer will apply for a customer service job at Walmart or Target out at one of the common swap locations and bust one of these peeps. I have a feeling it will be a long time before someone catches one of these bozos. Missing accessories from packaging happens around here every so often, but I've never seen a swap.
