You can buy that Steamboat on Amazon for about $38 shipped. 2 Yokos plus shipping cost you about $50? And with the current market of Yoko going for about $40 a piece, you certainly helped him. What's wrong with that then? A collector helping another collector? No we can't be having that.... Hi ingram! We can "be having that" actually, its just funny to watch someone short change himself in the name of "helping collectors," but just think, he could have helped double the amount of collectors! Wouldn't that have been really great!? Helping two people!? The main point I'm trying to make is that he's a little careless, and its going to get lost under a ton of "helping collectors" rants and white knight defenses. I assure you the only point I'm trying to make is he's being careless and me as a collector trying to help another collector before baking themselves into a bad spot, especially financially. I know everyone thinks hes great because he overpaid on a few sought after figures and is losing money constantly, and I know its going to be thrown in my face that I should have taken a 36 year old man's hand and sat him down and gave him a gentle talk followed by a joyful tussling of the hair about my concerns. But hey, its Friday, lets enjoy the weekend, bootxparty and myself are going to Applebee's for some extreme fajitas & pizza shooters, and funny tie karaoke!

I get where you are coming from but the heavy handedness isn't needed imo. All that's needed is a 'be careful' type message not breaking down financially the favour he believes he has done Enjoy your fajitas though

Unfortunately a lot of posts here are lost in translation.

Wow! Heaven forbid you spend your money however you wish Greg! What is this place coming to that a wrestling figs collector is somehow chastised for how he spends HIS money! Good lord!

Sarcasm is a hard emotion to convey via text. And I'm a fairly sarcastic person irl. I just play a concerned citizen on the internet

Sometimes the average age of this forum really shows when posts are like "How much debt are you in?" or "That's like $100 in figures!" So for those posters, some of us are adults, some of us have careers, these careers give us a thing called a salary and for many of us spending maybe $150-$200 a month will not send us into crippling debt. Hi Scoobypat! The two posters you're referring to, bootxparty and myself, are almost 30 and just over 30, we're part of the "adults" on this forum, awesome!. We both have well paying careers, thanks colleges! While bootxparty and myself typically don't care what someone does with their money, we are fascinated with this thread for several reasons. We, as responsible adults, think the amount gregrules420 has spent since April is a bit excessive and we're both concerned and not jealous. You see, as responsible adults, we can afford the $150-200 amount that you mentioned no problem and believe me, I do, but this thread contains easily more than a thousand dollars spent (and with some of the numbers he mentioned I wouldn't doubt if it was double or triple that) within about two months. And we feel as responsible adults, that its concerning to watch someone quickly build up their collection and can quickly back themselves into a corner financially, especially too when gregrules420 mentioned that he bought a lot of it with his tax returns, that's not being a responsible adult. Hey, if he's able to afford it, then more power to him, am I right?! Though the typical adult can't blow through a tax return buying figures that they've overpaid for. And its also fun to watch him screw himself out of money in the name of helping collectors, again, only concerned. So while I understand your confusion where you think we could be crapting all over him, we are in fact not, sorry bud! I would just operate under the system that if you feel you yourself are a responsible adult you would probably be upset with someone saying they're concerned with your spending, therefore unless gregrules420 actively seeks help for his spending we should respect his privacy and give the benefit of the doubt that he's able to manage his own finances. Personally as an adult I would be a little uncomfortable with other people telling me I'm being irresponsible or they're concerned without a window into my personal finances or me seeking help.

Personally as an adult I would be a little uncomfortable with other people telling me I'm being irresponsible or they're concerned without a window into my personal finances or me seeking help. All the information has been put on a public forum (and in several threads) by the very person you're white knight defending. I could understand if we pried it out of him, but its being flaunted, which means its up for discussion or question. The very person you're defending understands we were in no way being malicious and has even said so, nor do we even have a problem with him: forum.wrestlingfigs.com/post/7125011So when bootxparty posed a question, which you misquoted, on a forum, and a legitimate question was asked, how was that breaking this made up thing about privacy you speak of? Its not. Its because YOU are uncomfortable yourself and feel the need to be a needless hero. Then in my case, again, which you misquoted, I saw him make a trade that I felt wasn't necessarily a good one and I put my two cents in about it. Again, totally free to do so being this is a public forum, and to hopefully point out that he could make another bad trade. Then he came out and said he doesn't care, so I no longer have any vested interest in it. Mind you, everything was perfectly fine, until you make your quip about us not being adults and having careers and the such. I took this as the opportunity to show you our intentions and how they weren't malicious and we were just concerned and more so curious, and you've taking this opportunity to try and twist this and make this about another problem with this silly privacy excuse of yours. To make it clear, I wouldn't have been overly sarcastic if you weren't sarcastic with your post - forum.wrestlingfigs.com/post/7123752 (in particular "some of us have careers, these careers give us a thing called a salary"). So with that, I answered your question and rebutted your come back. With that, you're entitled to a rebuttal, but it will fall on deaf ears, especially for the sake of keeping peace in this thread. Happy collecting bud!

I'm speaking in generalities not towards anyone in specific.
General rule of thumb in... well life really. Don't concern yourself with other peoples finances, it's rude.
I'm not targeting you or even this thread, I see it in nearly every large haul thread there is.
