Did anyone else think Rusev looked awesome out there tonight? He had excellent ring awareness and helped deliver an intense and thrilling match. I'd say his match with Cena was the Match of the Night personally. I see bright things for him in the future. My only hope is that he officially goes over Cena at Wrestlemania and cements himself as a major player. After that, he can go on to feud with the WWE Champion (I'm assuming Reigns) or he can continue to just dominate for a little while longer.
What do you guys think? Has Rusev won you over? Or are you not feeling it?

Didn't care for him when he debuted and was wrestling R-Truth, but been a huge fan of Rusev since he was wrestling Big E and Swagger. The guy just absolutely gets it. He does so much right, his selling, his ring awareness, he's incredibly skilled. Apparently he sucked before NXT too, so the trainers there must be awesome or he's just an amazing student. He's so believable.
I thought Reigns vs Bryan was the better match, but Cena vs Rusev was damn good too. I'd love to see him beat Cena and go on to face Reigns for the title, but after making Cena pass out to a submission, I can only imagine JC's getting his revenge at Mania.
Mainly I hope Rusev doesn't fade away after the streak/gimmick. He's good enough to be a high level player for years.

I saw it a few months ago but forgot the title. He started to win me over too when he started wrestling Swagger and Big E. Then he just impressed me more from there. Anyways, I totally agree with all of this. I would personally have him beat Cena, but Cena getting his revenge makes sense too. The streak ending doesn't necessarily mean the end of him, I get major player vibes from him. The kind who always floats around the main event and is an actual credible challenger type. A little thing I loved tonight was how he played to the "Jerry!" chants. That adds so much to the character I think.

I've grown to like Rusev not only for his wrestling, but for when his tweets from 2010-2013 get RT'd onto my timeline:

I think I listened to the Gangrel episode of AOW and him talking about him sleeping in his car before training. He really wants it. After him cry selling that ankle lock with Swagger I've been a huge fan. I hope he gets a win at Mania.

Little things like his reactions to unscripted events, he just stays in character perfectly and handles whatever gets thrown at him, in situations where other performers would panic and fall apart. Just reading his Wikipedia, I didn't know he'd been in WWE since 2010... Or that he was out for six months with a severe knee injury, then out for a year with a broken freakin' neck.

Great stuff. 2010? I didn't know that either. Did you know Damien Sandow has been floating in and out since 2002?

I knew Sandow had been there a while, I remember him in 06/07 in that tag team, but I didn't know it was since 2002. Sandow's another one who has so many of those same qualities and little nuances -- there's something to be said for spending some extended time in the WWE system, I guess. Although on the other hand, Konor has been there for ten years on and off and he's still terrible.

Then the tag team like you said. Then he went to OVW I think. Got released but made his way back eventually. I think Sandow could make a fine IC Champion or eventual US Champion. He's quite good.

Yes, I really am. His selling is great, so is his in ring work, and with the crapty gimmick he's been given, he's doing it great alongside Lana. Marked out hard when he went over Cena.

Rusev caught my eye during the 2014 Royal Rumble when he delivered that spinning heel kick outta nowhere. I haven't seen or heard about the guy prior to the RR. There's something special about athletic big guys like Umaga. Hope they make him into a top level star in the future.

Not quite there yet for me, but I am starting to warm. I wanted to love him when he debuted, but then it was several months of meh, but he's had some great contests now.

Absolutely; his dedication to this character, and athleticism for such a big guy is impressive...but what impresses me most is his timing and selling; his facial features are great to watch when he's selling because I actually believe he's in pain here and there...he's that good, and he will become a lot better as time goes on...

Eh, I still don't see that much in him. He had a great showing against Cena last night which should be a positive sign for his future. But I'm picking Cena to win the title at WrestleMania and Rusev eventually fades out by the end of next year. I don't buy him as a main-event player yet.

I like the Rusev story to, but didn't Vladimir Kozlov go nowhere after his streak ended at Survivors Series 2008. Hope that doesn't happen to Rusev

Tonight was his best match in my opinion.
If Cena has any balls he'll put him over clean at Mania.

Yeah, I love him, I hope they have a good match (even better than last night) at Wrestlemania since Cena will probably win. I hope also it's a no DQ match, they can have an awesome match, no doubt.

Sandow I have found entertaining pretty much since day one. And have said many times should be either the IC or US champion. Rusev has done nothing in the ring to impress me. I don't care how good his expressions are his wrestling just isn't memorable to me. I watched Fast lane last night and honestly besides the kick to the nuts I don't remember a single move he did last night. And that has nothing to do with his gimmick. The same can be said about the diva match last night. I know I watched it, but I can't remember a thing about it other than I think Nikki was in yellow?
